Free Contents Aggregation System for IPTV Service (IPTV 서비스를 위한 프리콘텐츠 수집시스템)

  • With the advent of OTT, the new concept of content delivery service is growing interest in the market, the development of appropriate equipment and application program is needed. In order to provide OTT service, a system to receive UHD broadcast to collect free content is needed. In this study, we designed an OTT service providing system that operates on 4K UHD video adapter hardware capable of IPTV service. First, we analyzed the situation to provide video free contents service and implemented a system to collect free contents. To validate the research and to make practical use of it, we have developed a mobile program for free content service and distributed it through the Google App Store. It is also installed in an OTT box with the ability to provide free content on the open market and is in service in several countries including Brazil.

The Extraction Process of Durative Persuasive System Design Characteristics for Healthcare-related Mobile Applications

  • In the field of Human-Computer Interaction design, persuasive design has gradually been applied to the system development and design process, especially for mobile application design. However, most mobile applications have hitherto a very short using lifecycle. Especially, design features with long-term persuasive effectiveness remain to be further researched and developed. In this study, we focused on investigating and identifying the durative persuasive design characteristics through a data mining process and evaluating the durative effectiveness through a long-term observation process. Total five hundred healthcare-related mobile applications were selected from Apple iTunes Store and a mixed method was conducted to extract the most common persuasive design characteristics. Based on the results of extraction, a representative healthcare-related mobile application was selected as experimental subject. Total one hundred and twenty participants were observed during a six-months experiment and the monitoring data of app usage of all participants was collected once a week. According to the evaluation model for behavior change identification process, participants with habit formation features were proved to have a significant long-term perception level for ten persuasive design characteristics. Further interview research was performed to investigate the participant's long-term perceptions on those characteristics for the purpose of identifying the durative persuasions. The results indicated that a long-term durative effectiveness can be observed and healthcare-related apps designed with those characteristics could have durative effectiveness. This study may contribute to the improvement of future mobile application designs in user experience and durative persuasion, as well as bringing future benefits for both mobile application developers and users.

  • The web is one of the most intimate technologies in people's daily lives, and most of the time, people are sharing data on the web. Simple messenger, news, video, as well as various data are now spreading through the web. In addition, with the emergence of Web assembly technology, the programs that run in the existing native environment start to enter the domain of the Web, and the data shared by the Web is now getting wider and larger in terms of VR / AR contents and big data. Therefore, in this paper, we have studied how to effectively deliver web contentsto users who use Web service by using service worker that can operate independently without being dependent on browser and cache API that can effectively store data in web browser.

The Detection of Android Malicious Apps Using Categories and Permissions (카테고리와 권한을 이용한 안드로이드 악성 앱 탐지)

  • Approximately 70% of smartphone users around the world use Android operating system-based smartphones, and malicious apps targeting these Android platforms are constantly increasing. Google has provided "Google Play Protect" to respond to the increasing number of Android targeted malware, preventing malicious apps from being installed on smartphones, but many malicious apps are still normal. It threatens the smartphones of ordinary users registered in the Google Play store by disguising themselves as apps. However, most people rely on antivirus programs to detect malicious apps because the average user needs a great deal of expertise to check for malicious apps. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method to classify unnecessary malicious permissions of apps by using only the categories and permissions that can be easily confirmed by the app, and to easily detect malicious apps through the classified permissions. The proposed method is compared and analyzed from the viewpoint of undiscovered rate and false positives with the "commercial malicious application detection program", and the performance level is presented.

Implementation of Smart Umbrella Stand Based on IoT (사물인터넷 기반의 스마트 우산꽂이 구현)

  • In this paper, we propose a smart umbrella stand based on the Internet of Things (IoT) that helps people to pack their umbrellas more easily. The proposed smart umbrella stand offers three functions. First, it receives weather information, and a hidden umbrella handle will automatically become visible when it rains, making it easier to grab. Second, the smart umbrella stand is equipped with a heated air system, allowing it to effectively dry umbrellas that have become wet due to rain. This makes it more convenient for users to dry and store their rain-soaked umbrellas. Third, the smart umbrella stand enables users to monitor its current status, track weather conditions, and monitor the water level in the rain gutter through a dedicated application. The proposed smart umbrella stand aims to bring convenience to daily life by making it more convenient to carry an umbrella on rainy days or days with a high probability of rain.

  • Since COVID-19, most of people's main living spaces have been moved indoors. Due to this influence, many people's interest in companion plants continues to rise. People who raise companion plants often raise them for the purpose of emotional stability or air purification. In fact, plants have the effect of giving people a sense of emotional stability and the ability to purify indoor air is excellent depending on what kind of plant they are. However, if you do not have knowledge of plants, you will not know which plants have excellent air purification effects, and even if you grow them, you will face a problem that withers quickly. Therefore, in this paper, we develop an app that provides users who do not have prior knowledge to store and manage their MBTI and member information in a database using databases and MBTI, and based on this, recommend plant data that fits their preferences with the user and manage their schedules through calendars.

The Study of Diffusion and Outlook for Smart Phone in Smart Nomad Era (스마트 노매드 시대 스마트폰의 확산과 전망에 대한 연구)

  • This study focused on mobile trend in diffusion of smart phone. Presently, it has been evolved from digital nomad to smart nomad. Smart nomad era is based on digital technology with mobility and being smart. Smart nomad that is made up high-end device and intellectual content has changed structure of industry and life style. Smart phone is a core key in smart nomad era. In 2010 smart phone has been distributed about 2.5 hundreds million which is 20% of whole mobile phone sales and the volume of smart phone sales will be getting bigger and bigger in near future. Although, there are various reasons for success of smart phone market, this research focused 4 reasons: first, development of mobile device, second, evolution of mobile content distribution, third, support of government system, fourth, success of Docomo i-mode and Apple i phone. Smart phone will grow up more rapidly. Smart phone eco-system will be more competitive in the world. In Korea, smart phone eco-system also will be very competitive. For success in the middle of this competitive environment, Korea should lead the competitive phase with development of ability of creation software and content, construction of various partnership and evolution of next generation technology and service.

The Status of Mobile Personal Health Records of Atopic Dermatitis : An evaluation of features and functionality (국내외 모바일 기반 아토피피부염 개인건강기록 애플리케이션 현황)

  • Objective : To evaluate the status of mobile personal health records (mPHR) applications of Atopic Dermatitis, assessing general characteristics, information content, features of PHR content and functions. Method : Searches were conducted from Android's Google Play and iOS's App Store. Main criteria used to include mPHRs were: providing health information of PHR function of Atopic Dermatitis; operating in Korean or English; for human. Selected mPHRs were analyzed considering general characteristics, information contents, data elements, and application features. Results : 19 applications were included in this study. 15 were providing health information. Data elements of information included general information, symptom, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, management and FAQ. No single application contained all seven data elements. Only Eight applications had PHR function. In the features analysis, one PHR applications contained all eight PHR functional features; saving profile function, profiles supported, password, import data, export data, information provided, progress chart and push-up alarm. Conclusion : mPHR is an emerging health care technology. The majority of existing mPHR applications only provide one-way information. Application designed to help users and doctors to exchange mutual information was the only one. Also, there was no application that can record the Traditional Korean Medicinal treatment information. However, as the mobile market continues to expand it is likely that more comprehensive mPHRs will be developed in the near future. New advancements in mobile technology can be utilized to enhance Tranditional Korean Medical health care.

Consumer Preferences for Tea-Related Smartphone Applications: Focus on 20's Consumers ('차(茶)' 관련 스마트폰 앱에 대한 소비자 선호도와 특성: 20대를 중심으로)

  • Tea is one of the three most consumed drinks in the world along with coffee and cocoa, and it represents culture and tradition. There are more than 1,000 tea-related smartphone applications registered in the Apple App Store and Google Play. This study examined, for the consumers of the 20's, if there are differences in consumer preferences for tea-related applications based on gender, age, tea consumption amount and tea drinking duration. Based on surveys of 169 tea consumers, this study found that there were significant differences in consumer preferences for tea-related applications based on age and tea drinking amount. The applications of 'tea places,' 'entertainment,' and 'tea timer' were preferred by the consumers of 20's and 'etiquette,' 'tea ceremony,' 'teaware,'and 'tea information recording' were favored by the consumers of 30's and older. The consumers with higher drinking amount showed higher preferences for tea etiquette related applications. There were no significant differences for tea-related applications based on gender and tea drinking duration. The result of the study is expected to contribute to the development of tea related applications with higher appeals to consumers as well as traditional Korean drinks.

A Study on the Improvement of Mobile Game Payment using Blockchain (블록체인을 활용한 모바일 게임결제 개선방안 연구)

  • Currently, most of the mobile game market releases games through Google play and App Store, which have a high share. Because it uses a third-party platform, only the payment API system provided must be used, and third-party platform pays the game company after excluding certain fees. Because game companies do not know whether or not to refund items and cannot get back items through third party transactions, users and professional websites are continuously appearing that exploit refunds. In this thesis, after analyzing problems of existing payment method and presenting a payment model using blockchain smart contract, we analyzed differences from existing model in terms of transparency, decentralization(fee), efficiency, and as a result, payment model using smart contract has low commission through P2P transaction without third parties and transparent transaction record, preventing item forgery and refund. Later, the proposed payment model would lead to the culling of companies acting on behalf of refunds for words that deviate from moral ethics such as "Refund OK even with items" and resolve the problem of unreasonable fees that arise through third-party platforms.
