감요수조의 주기조절 장치 효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effects of the Period Control Device of Anti-Rolling Tanks)

  • The effect of the passive anti-rolling tanks(ART) decreases when the roll period of the vessel does not match the designed oscillating period of the fluid in the tank. In order to improve the effect of the passive ART, the damping plates are installed in the lower duct of the ART to adjust the oscillating period of the fluid. The effects of the damping plates on the oscillating period of the fluid and the changes of the stabilizing moments are examined through the series of bench tests. Acryl model tank larger than 1m breadth is made to minimize the viscous effect of the tank and the stabilizing moments of the tank are measured for various roll angles. Using the obtained tank damping coefficient, RAO(Response Amplitude Operator) value in the resonance range is computed and the stabilizing effect of a ART has been estimated.

용달선의 횡 동요를 억제하기 위한 곡선레일의 수평유지장치 개발 (The Development of a Balancing Control System for the Anti-Rolling Rail of a Delivery Ship)

  • A delivery ship is used to handle the cargo with the crane to/from the ships. The ship is inclined in the direction of a cargo which is hung on a crane. In this case, a arc shaped rail should be in the equilibrium state to get good anti rolling performance. In this study, a device and control algorithm are developed to take accurate and quick equilibrium of the rail. The device is composed of a hinged immovable support and two screw jacks. And the control algorithm demands two controllers. One controller is designed such that the screw jack 1 and 2 follow the position reference signal generated by a tilt sensor. The other controller of two degree of freedom is designed to remove the synchronous error occurred between jack 1 and jack 2. The simulation results show that the desirable control performance is achieved.

Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation for Development of Fin Stabilizer

  • A ship cruising in the ocean oscillates continuously due to wave action. In order to reduce the ship's roll, we developed a fin stabilizer as an anti-rolling device for a 500-ton-class high-speed marine vessel. During the development phase, it was necessary to set up control gains for the motion and hydraulic systems and assess the effectiveness of the anti-rolling performance on the ground. For this reason, a Target Simulator, which simulated the ship's motion, was given operator inputs such as the engine telegraph and waterjet deflection angle, and generated roll using a one-degree-of-freedom motion base. Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation (HILS) was performed using the Target Simulator in order to confirm the various logics of the developed fin stabilizer, select initial control gains, and estimate the anti-rolling performance. In conclusion, it was confirmed that HILS was very helpful to develop the fin stabilizer because it could reduce the number of sea trial tests that were needed and could find many malfunctions in the factory a priori.

  • 파랑에 의한 선박의 횡동요를 방지하는 감요장치는 크게 수동식과 능동식 으로 분류할 수 있으며 수동형 감요수조는 선박에서 가장 널리 사용되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 감요장치의 하부덕트유동에 관한 기초연구로서 덕트의 제어 댐퍼와 유입부의 유통에 대해 입자영상 유속측정장치를 이용하여 속도벡터분포에 관한 정량적인 데이터를 확보하였다. 그 결과 실험관 벽면에서 측정 된 압력의 분포는 디스크가 전개 상태인 0 도에서 45도까지는 입구 압력은 일정한 상태로 거의 변화하지 않았으나 약 60도 이상에서부터 압력 상승과 점차 급격한 변동현상이 나타났다.

In this study, a device and control algorithm are developed to take accurate and quick equilibrium of the rail. The device is composed of a hinged immovable support, screw jack and damper. And the control system is based on I-PD control law to consider of control input saturation and overshoot. The controller is composed of integral controller of feedforward path and proportional-derivative controller of feedback path. The parameters of controller is designed to follow the reference signal and to remove overshoot. The simulation results show that the desirable control performance is achieved.

  • 제어 모멘트 자이로(control moment gyroscope, CMG)는 고토크 발생 장치로서 인공위성 뿐만 아니라 항공, 선박, 자동차, 로봇 등의 다양한 산업분야의 자세안정화와 기동 시스템에 적용될 수 있다. 본 논문은 여러 산업분야에서 적용할 수 있는 100Nm급 CMG 개발 전반에 대한 내용을 다룬다. 이를 위해서 CMG 시스템레벨 요구사항 분석, 모터 서브시스템 설계/제작/조립, 시험장치 구성, 성능시험 및 평가에 대한 개발과정과 결과를 제시한다. 스핀모터와 김벌모터를 설계조건에서 구동하여 CMG의 토크출력이 120Nm 이상 생성됨을 성능시험을 통해 확인한다.

피스톤 링 실 끝단을 갖는 스퀴즈 필름 댐퍼의 감쇠 계수 측정 (Measurement of Damping Coefficients of a Squeeze Film Damper with Piston Ring Seal Ends)

  • This study experimentally identifies the effects of end shape, clearance, total damper length, journal eccentricity ratio, oil supply pressure, and oil flow rate on the damping coefficient of a squeeze film damper (SFD) with piston ring seal ends and a central groove. The SFD is composed of a lubricating fluid flowing between the outer race of a rolling element bearing and cartridge, along with an anti-rotation pin to prevent the rotation of the outer race. The device provides additional viscous damping to a rotating system. Additionally, piston ring seals attached at both ends of the damper increase the damping coefficient of the rotating system by reducing oil leakage. Because these different design conditions affect the damping coefficient of an SFD, we perform experiments including different conditions. Tests show that the damping coefficient increases significantly in the SFD with piston ring seal ends compared with the SFD with open ends. The damping coefficient also increases with increasing total damper length and journal eccentricity ratio, and decreases with increasing clearance. Additionally, in contrast to the trend observed for the SFD with open ends, the damping coefficient for the SFD with piston ring seal ends increases with increasing supply pressure and flow rate as the frequency decreases but shows consistent results as the frequency increases.
