  • In this paper, we are proposed the antennas for RFID tag operated at UHF band which are inserted ground plane easy to mount the RFTD chips at the antenna surfaces. In order to implemented antenna for RFID tag which the size is same as conventional name card, the structure of the antenna is meander type, matching method for improvement characteristics of the antenna use T matching method, ground plane is inserted at the antenna substrate fer mounting RFID chips. The substrate size of implementation is $100\times60\;mm^2$ and the FR4 substrate is used. Results of the experiment, the center frequency of the implemented antenna is 427 MHz, -10 dB return loss bandwidth is 8 MHz, maximum return loss is 21 dB, the radiation pattern is omnidirectional. From these results, we are conformed application for UHF RFID tag antenna.

  • This paper proposes an aircraft-installed compact offset-parabolic-reflector antenna for the spinning direction-finding applications. The feeder of the reflector antenna is a LPDA antenna that has the ultra-wideband characteristics and the $45^{\circ}$ slant linear polarization. The reflector is designed to be slanted by $5^{\circ}$ in the elevation and to be small in size on the basis of the reference parabolic shape for the purpose of the high gain and mounting on the underside of aircraft fuselage. Over the ultra-wideband 20:1 bandwidth from S to Ka band, the measured average gain of the proposed antenna is 27.97 dBi, and the average half-power beam width is $4.55^{\circ}$ in the azimuth and $4.3^{\circ}$ in the elevation which is the pencil-beam radiation pattern. All the measured data are similar to the simulation results. The designed compact offset-parabolic-reflector antenna that is installed in the limited area has the ultra-wideband and high-gain characteristics. We expect that the newly designed antenna can be applied to the spinning direction-finding antenna system installed in an aircraft.

  • This paper proposes a miniaturized half-circular-slot UWB antenna. Using an analysis of the neld patterns, we show that the original circular-slot UWB antenna operates on a series of multi-pole radiation based on $TE_n$ modes, and a perfect magnetic wall exists along an axis of symmetry on the antenna. Using the perfect magnetic wall we designed and fabricated the miniaturized UWB antenna on RF-60A substrate with t=0.64mm, ${\varepsilon}_r=6.15\;and\;tan\;{\delta}=0.0025$, which not only has the half size of the original but also maintains UWB characteristics. The measured gain of the miniaturized antenna is $-2.1{\sim}4.3dBi$, which is comparable with the gain, $-2.7{\sim}3.1dBi$, of the original circular-slot UWB antenna. The radiation pattern is also similar to that of the original antenna.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel structure of a spiral antenna with a CP characteristic for RFID reader in UHF band. Since the proposed antenna can be built by printing on a FR-4 substrate, it is appropriate for low-cost mass-production. The antenna is designed to operate in UHF band of $860{\sim}960$ MHz. The CP bandwidth is Increased enough to cover an overall UHF RFID band by using a spiral structure for the antenna arm. The matching bandwidth is broadened by using a quarter-wave transformer between the fred and the antenna body. The proposed antenna has advantages of its easy gain and pattern control with a small antenna size. The measured antenna performance shows the matching bandwidth of 13%, the CP bandwidth of 23%, and the gain of 6.5 dBi. This verifies that the proposed antenna is appropriate for RFID antennas in UHF band.

  • This paper implemented an ultra-wideband(: UWB) antenna by using a modified barrel-shaped patch antenna. The designed UWB patch antenna was optimized to match UWB technical specifications by considering the sizes of barrel circle and oval(notch) which is distance between the patch and contact surface and designed antenna was implemented by $10mm(R1){\times}21.8mm$ size. Optimal values on the basis of simulated reflective loss results, the surface current distribution of designed patch antenna was analyzed in order to check operation mode of antenna and wideband mechanism. Experimental results of implemented UWB antenna, Return loss of UWB antenna the voltage standing wave ratio was 2 or less in the 1.775-13.075 GHz band, VSWR in 2 or less. And the maximum gain of approx. 1-3 dBi was found in 3.1-10.6 GHz. This result satisfied the characteristics of ultra-wideband and the proposed antenna will be applicable to an ultra-wideband system.

  • When the current flows to parallel lines with different length, it is researched that the radiation is occured by the common-mode current radiates, and the small light weight antenna composed of dual elements by using the principle is proposed. However, there is a problem in production about this antenna because this liner antenna is structured by combining with wires. In this paper, we improved this liner antenna, and designed the plane antenna composed of dual elements with different length in the plane printed board to produce and to design easily. Furthermore, the antenna with the wide-band characteristic is also designed in the same board. The radiation pattern is similar to the dipole antenna on account of designing the triangular patch S, the notch and two tapers in patch S, the notch and two tapers in the antenna element. In result, it was able to design the antenna working wider band-width(the bandwidth ratio about 58%, $VSWR{\le}2$).

  • In this paper, we study the complex mobile antenna for WPT(Wireless Power Transfer) with NFC(Near Field Communication) of inductive coupling using FPCB which has half thickness compared with the existing coil type antennas. Considering the pattern thickness of loop antenna, the analysis of electromagnetic wave absorber and battery's influence, absorber thickness, the ranges of design parameters are obtained. The proposed antenna has 0.45 mm thickness using single layer 3 oz FPCB and absorber. From measurement, the characteristics of NFC antenna can be satisfied with the specifications of EMVCo. and domestic mobile telecommunication and the transmission efficiency of the proposed WPT antenna is 68.1 % which is competitive with the existing coil type antenna. From the results of this paper, it has been confirmed that the proposed antenna can be used as the WPT and NFC antenna for mobile phone. Key words: Wireless Power Transfer, Near Field Communication, Mobile Phone Antenna, Absorber, FPCB.

  • As more satellites are designed to downlink their observed image data through the X-band frequency band, it is inevitable that the occupied bandwidth of a target satellite will overlap with that of other X-band downlink satellites. For sun-synchronized low earth orbit satellites, in particular, it can be expected that two or more satellites be placed within the looking angle of a ground station antenna at the same time. Due to the overlapping in the frequency band, signals transmitted from the adjacent satellites act as interferers, leading to degraded link performance between target satellite and ground station. In this paper, link analysis was initiated by modeling the radiation pattern of ground station antenna through a validated Jet Propulsion Laboratory peak envelope model. From the relative antenna gain depending on the offset angle from center axis of maximum antenna directivity, the ratio of received interference signal level to the target signal level was calculated. As a result, it was found that the degradation increased when the offset angle was within the first point of radiation pattern. For a 7.3 m antenna, serious link degradation began at an offset angle of 0.4 degrees. From this analysis, the link performance of the coming satellite passes can be recognized, which is helpful to establish an operating procedure that will prevent the ground station from receiving corrupted image data in the event of a degraded link.

  • In this paper, we have proposed a tapered slot antenna for IR-UWB communication system suitable of indoor positioning in the building. The designed tapered slot antenna is designed using Ansys Inc. HFSS and its standing wave ratio, return loss, and radiation pattern is analyzed. In 2.36 GHz ~ 5.51 GHz and, the designed antenna shows satisfactory return loss at -10 dB and meets the requirement of $VSWR{\leq}2$. The presented designed showed a higher sensitivity for the end-fire propagation characteristics in a specific direction across all bands of the radiation pattern.
