In this paper, for both transmission and reception with single antenna system of satellite communication, dual-frequency antennas which operate simultaneously at 12.5 GHz and at 14.25 GHz are designed, constructed and measured. Also by using dual feeding structure, the problems of single-fed dual-frequency antenna such as the separation of transmitting and receiving signals and single polarization, are solved. Microstrip patch as a radiation element of dual-fed dual-frequency antenna has width and length which are the resonance lengths of the corresponding frequencies for transmission and reception, respectively. The effects of the feed line on the other frequency feeding are minimized with the optimal matching scheme for the feed lines. For solving the space problems of dual-fed two-dimensional array antennas, microstrip-line and coaxial probe feedings are used for each frequency and a two-dimensional $2\times2$ array antenna was designed and measured their characteristics. The experimental results show that errors of resonance frequencies are less than 1.44%, the return losses are less than -21 dB and the isolations between two feeding ports are less than -21 dB. The characteristics of radiation patterns of dual frequency microstrip antenna are measured and evaluated. The directivities, sidelobe levels and cross polarizations are also measured and compared with the simulations. The results show some errors due to the misalignment of coaxial probe feeding.

We propose a novel single-feed triangular patch antenna with bar-type slots for dual-band circular polarization operation. And also propose a H-type slotted triangular patch antenna to enhance the ratio of the resonance frequencies. 3 cases of desist examples with bar-type slots were investigated and also 4 cases of H-slotted antennas were investigated to meet the dual-band requirement for GPS(Global Positioning System) and DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting). One suitable design example was implemented and measured. Simulation results of the design example for GPS and DMB system show that axial ratio and maximum gain are 3.80 dB, 8.85 dBi for low-band at 1.575 GHz and 2.02 dB, 8.60 dBi for high-band at 2.642 GHz, respectively. Measured results of the implemented antenna show that $S_{11}$ is -12.43 dB for low-band at 1.575 GHz and less than -18.75 dB for high-band, respectively.
In this paper, we designed and fabricated QMSA(Quarter-Wavelength Microstrip Antenna) for 850MHz band on the CGP-500 PTFE substrate(by CHUKOH company) with ε/sub r/=2.6, H=1.6mm(±0.08), where width of the radiation patch is .identical with that of the ground plane. A well matched feed point was obtained by experiments and this QMSA was fed by using prove feed method. The resonant frequencies and the return losses were mcasured by cutting the gap L₃ between the radiation patch and the ground plane, with a 5mm cutting length, step by step. As a result, we found that the measured return losses were decreased and the resonant frequencies were increased when the gap L₃ was shorter, especially under 10mm, unlike we had expected.

When the feed of an offset reflector antenna is displaced from the focal point, the phase distortion results in the aperture field distribution, which in turn gives rise to a deviation of maximum beam, a decrease in gain, and an increase in sidelobes. In order to study these scan characteristics, an offset reflector antenna with the defocused feed is analyzed by a series expansion method using the Zernike polynomials, which can be used to calculate radiation pattern fast and exactly. And from the analyzed results, scan loss data in terms of reflector geometry are presented. And also, the BDF (beam deviation factor) expression is derived with offset reflector configuration analytically, and calculated results and simple formula of BDF are presented for determining beam deviation characteristics.

In this paper, Rectangular microstrip patch array antenna. relative current of which is distributed to 1:2:2:1, is designed and fabricated by using Tschebyscheff's polynominal expression and is verified by theoretical analysis and experiment. Seeking for more accurate resonant frequency, an equivlent network, which is consisted including feed line and power distribution line, is analyzed by using the analysis method of transmission line mode. As a result of their comparison and examination, such as resonant frequency by fringing effects, by return loss, by experiment, it is conformed that errors are not barely and agreed with each other. is also agreed with a measured values.

In this paper, the microstrip array antenna is studied to replace the parabolic antenna in the direct satellite reception. A microstrip array antenna has been used in extremely limited area, but if it is applied to practical life like a direct satellite reception antenna, we expect that it will be used in various way. First of all, if we use a microstrip array antenna for a direct satellite reception antenna, it should be guaranteed characteristics of broadband frequency. Therefore, the goal of this paper is designing technique an antenna which guarantees broadband frequency band for a direct satellite reception. In this paper, the proposed microstrip antenna is fed by orthogonal two feed lines to a rectangular patch and a sequentially rotated feeding technique is designed proposed for a good axial ratio in broadband frequency band. The rectangular patch is designed to satellite reception band, and the width and length are W=L=8.9 mm ($0.352{\lambda}o$) respectively. The antenna's ground plane has dimensions of $250{\times}250mm$. The experimental results verify that the proposed antenna had the axial ratio of above 1dB broader than that of the conventional feeding antenna. In order to verify the performance, a $8{\times}8$ array having two pairs was fabricated and tested. The maximum gain is 20.8 dB, the sidelobe level confirm less than -10 dB. It is verified by link budget calculation that C/N=6.7 dB can be obtained for domestic use if this proposed antenna is used in Koreasat reception system.

This paper presents the dual resonance PIFA(Planar Inverted F-Antenna) which satisfies the requirements of the 802.11n standard at both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. Patch for 2.4 GHz and U-Type slot for 5 GHz were used for dual resonance, respectively. In this paper, the characteristics of an antenna were investigated by varying locations of short plate and feed point, the width of the short plate, the thickness and the location of U-Type slot. To investigate the characteristics of the PIFA, HFSS(High Frequency Structure Simulation) for the simulation was used. And the measurement results of a fabricated PIFA were compared with the simulated ones. The measurement and simulation results show that good dual resonance characteristics as the thickness of U-type slot decreases and when the location of U-type slot is far from the feed point.

This paper discusses the design and implementation of parabola, lens, and $32{\times}8$ rectangular microstrip patch array antennas at 77GHz for vehicular radar applications. The parabola size was $7{\times}10$ cm and the f/D was 0.263. Open waveguide(WR-12) was utilized as the feed antenna. Two types of lens antennas with f/D=0.5 were investigated ; one was a plano-convex and the other was a double-convex. A patch array antenna was designed using a transmission line model and experimented. Comparing the theoretical values with the measured ones for four antennas, the results were agreed well in 3 dB BW and radiation patterns, while the gain of the patch array antenna was degraded as much as -25 dB due to the feed network and microstrip-to-coax-to-waveguide transition losses.

In this paper, a high-power and low-loss stripline 10-way power divider is designed and fabricated fur the feed network of an S-band linear array antenna with Chebyshev current distribution which has a narrow beam width and low side lobe level(SLL) of 35 dB or more. The unit cell of the power divider is based on a T-junction power divider and the whole divider is comprised of the cascaded unit cells. The multi-stage impedance transformer and modified ring hybrid are used in designing the power divider for performance improvement. And the reflection loss and insertion loss are improved by modifying a connector structure for a coaxial-to-stripline transition.

In this paper, An aperture-coupled microstrip patch antenna operating at WLL frequency range(Rx : 2.3∼2.33Ghz, Tx : 2.37 ∼2.4Ghz) for WLL repeater is designed and fabricated. FR-4 epoxy substrate with 4.7 relative permittivity is inserted between feed-line and patch plane. Aperture-coupled structure is employed for consideration of bandwidth improvement and gain\`s characteristics. Air gap is arranged at each layer for bandwidth extension and radome is used as a protector in the upper patch. In this paper, both 1 port and 2 port are designed as 1$\times$2 array antenna which uses T-junction and λ$\_$g//4 transformer. Here, 1 port is used as transmitting/receiving antenna and 2 port is used as receiving antenna. Functionally independent two antennas using space diversity arrange slots between two antennas in order to be placed at the same place. As a result, we obtained a excellent isolation below -40dB and return loss is reduced by means of slots arrangement between patch and antenna.
