  • In this paper, we propose the method for creating a stable stereoscopic 3D contents with the production guidelines by removing the excessive depth value and scene changes for high quality. We have developed a three-dimensional depth analysis tool for detecting the scene changes out of the production guidelines and the depth value changes excessively. The Scenes detected by depth analysis tool can be modified at the post production and it helps to make a stable stereoscopic 3D contents.

  • In this paper, we introduce a simulation tool for solar system using 3D animation tool MAYA. It accurately models solar system's astronomical features, such as each planet's orbital period, orbital speed, relative size, and texture, etc. This simulator visualize the solar system in 3D, which can be used to easily understands the system's positioning and astronomical movements. With a conventional Maya modeling process using menus and UI windows, it is difficult to assign correct physical attributes of planets. We use Python script to set up each planet's astronomical parameters. The proposed simulator is rendered as real as possible to be used for virtual reality and educational purpose.

  • The paper analyzed the metaphoric expressions appeared in whose cinematic quality has been subjectively recognized on the global stage by winning the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film. Many contents and visual effects of the film were expressed with metaphor. Story and sequence were analyzed through the language system-based 'Conceptual Metaphor Analysis Framework'. In addition, characters have been analyzed through the 'Visual Metaphor Analysis Framework'. The framework is to analyze visual dimensions which are derived when concepts are structuredin animation. This paper has attempted to investigate and reveal patterns how animation self-organizes or how animation self-realizes through linguistic objectives. That is, it is to reveal how animation communicates with the audience from the metaphoric perspective among many conventional ones. In an animated film, metaphor is a fundamental means to connect fragmented images, produce a holistic view and therefore induce creative communication with the audience. The essential motive of metaphor which is expressed in various styles in is modern people's feeling of loss and sense of missing something. Train, bottle top, food, lost-and-found center, in-between space and lost items have significance across the movie. According to an analysis, metaphor offers simplicity and freshness as an aesthetic function. In addition, the metaphor expresses lengthy contents and various meanings implicitly, delivering an economic function. With a creative function, metaphor is a tool to generate new meanings. In other words, an animated film is a medium to inspire and move the general public as a means of communication and thinking, not just an entertainment for young generations. After all, metaphoric expressions have been used to deliver diverse and deep meanings in animated films.

  • In the history of ancient art, the form harmonizing Text and Image is founded in many genres of art. especially Buddhist art Image, which is used as important tool as the text to spread Buddhist ideas. This original literary form have switched the visual communication systems, patterns of speculation is another reason to have a symbolic system. The switch between Text and Image is very important on interpreting the aesthetic concept of the modern interpretation of visual media. Therefore, This research has investigated and compared the Wall paintings in Dunhuang to Animation 's Image Narrative. The original story of is based on the Buddhist Jataka tale of the same name, which were discovered as wall paintings made by unknown artists at the Dunhuang Mogao Caves.

  • Birdwhistell explains in the whole communication, language conveys only 35% of the meaning and the rest 65% is conveyed by non-linguistic media. Humans do not entirely depend on linguistic communication, but are sensitive being, using every sense of theirs. Human communication, by using facial expression, gesture as well as language, is able to convey more concrete meaning. Especially, facial expression is a many-sided message system, which delivers Individual Personality, interest, information about response and emotional status, and can be said as powerful communication tool. Though being able to be changed according to various expressive techniques and degree and quality of expression, the symbolic sign of facial expression is characterized by generalized qualify. Animation characters, as roles in story, have vitality by emotional expression of which mental world and psychological status can reveal and read naturally on their actions or facial expressions.

  • Character Design in Animation is usually used to get probability visually with unity between appearance and feature of character. Especially the horn of Japanese robot animation is not only the one of the feature of the genre but also shows difference between eastern and western culture. It is not difficult to find a case as the horned robot design, otherwise Nagai Go's comics like "Mazinger Z", "Getter Robo" "UFO Robot Grandiger" dedicated to set a horned design as a pattern. In the Nagai Go's work, horn is not only an ornament but also is used as a tool which reveals violent human nature.

  • In order to model blending surfaces with curvature continuity, in this paper we apply sixth order partial differential equations (PDEs), which are solved with a composite power series based method. The proposed composite power series based approach meets boundary conditions exactly, minimises the errors of the PDEs, and creates almost as accurate blending surfaces as those from the closed form solution that is the most accurate but achievable only for some simple blending problems. Since only a few unknown constants are involved, the proposed method is comparable with the closed form solution in terms of computational efficiency. Moreover, it can be used to construct 3- or 4-sided patches through the satisfaction of continuities along all edges of the patches. Therefore, the developed method is simpler and more efficient than numerical methods, more powerful than the analytical methods, and can be implemented into an effective tool for the generation and manipulation of complex free-form surfaces.

  • The informatization of Korea is accompanied by the great growth of new strategic export industry, as of mobile phone or semiconductor LCD. Speaking to the situation of mobile phone, Motorola swept over the American domestic market in the beginning of 1990s, digital mobile communication as CDMA developed swiftly in Korea. In 1996, the first year's CDMA users of Samsung were merely one million, nevertheless, the world's sales in the first half of this year is up to 92 million. In this p aper I design 3D application based on J2ME and implement a freely removable 3D object which happened in a 3D scen e by receiving the keyboard response of mobile device with WTK (Wireless ToolKit) simulator. It contains benefits of improvement of relative speed and high-level functionality such as scene graph, keyframe animation, etc.

  • In a "Culture Content" industry, the character takes an important role to make a strong storyline. Especially in the field of cartoon which is composed with script and pictures, the role of character is more significant. There are few ways to analyze the character, and "Enneagram" is one of them. In this thesis paper, the author uses this Enneagram to analyze the character. Enneagram is a tool that divides characters into 9 categories of personality. In the year of 2001, South Korea published the standardized Enneagram test called KEPTI. By using the division chart of Enneagram, it is much easier to analyze the character's personality type in the cartoon. Also, this tool makes it possible to understand which character type is suitable for certain role and genre. Although it is hard to say the Enneagram tool represents all existing personalities, it would be definitely helpful for someone who tries to create or to set up a new character.

  • Animations are filled with emotional expressions of childlike innocence and fun, their dramatic plots and boundless imaginations have made them the focal points in a global context featuring industrialization and marketization, and people around the world like watching these animations. Animated adaptations are very common artistic phenomenons and cultural practices, and they have been one of central topics of theoretical discussions since the creation of animation films. Currently, the research on animated adaptations is mainly about case analysis, but from the perspective of methodology, there lacks a theoretical and systematic study on the adaptation and recreation of narrative text. This paper takes western narratology as the theoretical tool to do a systematic research analysis on the narrative adaptation of animation films, and it will involve the method and values of animated adaptation. This paper used to the method of 'Greimas' and to study the procedure of adaption from an origin to an animation. The paper found the success factors in animation through it.
