AUTOMATED ELECTROFACIES DETERMINATION USING MULTIVARIATE STATISTICAL ANALYSIS

  • A systematic methodology is developed for the electrofacies determination from wireline log data using multivariate statistical analysis. To consider corresponding contribution of each log and reduce the computational dimension, multivariate logs are transformed into a single variable through principal components analysis. Resultant principal components logs are segmented using the statistical zonation method to enhance the efficiency and quality of the interpreted results. Hierarchical cluster analysis is then used to group the segments into electrofacies. Optimal number of groups is determined on the basis of the ratio of within-group variance to total variance and core data. This technique is applied to the wells in the Korea Continental Shelf. The results of field application demonstrate that the prediction of lithology based on the electrofacies classification matches well to the core and the cutting data with high reliability This methodology for electrofacies classification can be used to define the reservoir characteristics which are helpful to the reservoir management.

모자 디자인을 위한 성인여성의 두부형태 분석 (The Study of Head type Analysis for Milinary)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic information for women's women's head type for mil-inary. The subjects were 141 college women aged from 19∼23. Data were collected from the real anthropometric measurements and 4 index. Correlation coefficientss, factor analysis, cluster analysis and analysis of variance in SAS package. The results were as follows : 4 factors were extracted from 20 anthrometric measurements and in index data, which explain 60.0% of variance. The subjectss were classified into 4 clusters by 11 measurement and 4 index data. Each charicteristics of cluster by the measurements was flat, big, thick, small types in women's head. Each charicteristics of cluster by the index data was mostly flat in head thickness and wide, midium, narrow, very wide type in face.

Data Visualization using Linear and Non-linear Dimensionality Reduction Methods

  • As the large amount of data can be efficiently stored, the methods extracting meaningful features from big data has become important. Especially, the techniques of converting high- to low-dimensional data are crucial for the 'Data visualization'. In this study, principal component analysis (PCA; linear dimensionality reduction technique) and Isomap (non-linear dimensionality reduction technique) are introduced and applied to neural big data obtained by the functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). First, we investigate how much the physical properties of stimuli are maintained after the dimensionality reduction processes. We moreover compared the amount of residual variance to quantitatively compare the amount of information that was not explained. As result, the dimensionality reduction using Isomap contains more information than the principal component analysis. Our results demonstrate that it is necessary to consider not only linear but also nonlinear characteristics in the big data analysis.

  • The design of experiment(DOE) with orthogonal arrays is adopted when the engineering design is needed in a discrete design space. In this research, a design process with orthogonal array is peformed to obtain the optimum design which satisfy the frequency target of the steering system. The optimum design is determined from the analysis of means(ANOM) and sensitivity information about design variables is evaluated by the analysis of variance(ANOVA). Interactions between design variables are investigated to achieve additivity which should be valid in using orthogonal array. It is shown that when strong interactions exist, the DOE process with orthogonal array considering interaction is introduced to find out optimum design.

  • This study is to research how women aging from 20 through 40 Apperance -Mnagement Bhavior and care of their outer looks from a beauty treatment perspective. This research should help satisfy the wants of women who are the main clients of the beauty products and help the beauty industry to produce new products and also to help out on their marketing strategy. In order to search the general characteristics of our target women, Frequency Analysis was used, to find out the sub-factor of interest in beauty Factor Analysis and Reliability Analysis was used. In order to divide the group according to Degree of Apperance Concern 'sub-factor, cluster analysis, analysis of variance, Scheffe'-test, $X^2-test$ was used, and to find out the difference on how they care of beauty analysis of variance was used, and further more to summarize the result of analysis of variance Scheffe'-test was used. As a result, in all different ways of beauty caring, weight resisting, skin care and plastic surgery summed up similarly among the self-care group, hair care ended up with similar results among all three groups: self-caring group, no interest in beauty at all group, and the too conscious of other eyes group, and results on the interest rate of clothing ended up similarly among the other-eye conscious group, beauty care interest group, and the self-care group.

다차원척도법과 거리분석을 활용한 그룹화된 비유사성에 대한 비모수적 접근법 (Non-parametric approach for the grouped dissimilarities using the multidimensional scaling and analysis of distance)

  • 일반적으로 그룹화된 다변량자료는 다변량 분산분석(multivariate analysis of variance; MANOVA)을 사용하여 그룹 간 차이를 검정할 수 있다. 그러나 만약 다변량 분산분석의 기본적인 가정이 위배되면 이 방법은 적절하지 못하다. 이 경우 다양한 거리로부터 그룹화된 비유사성을 계산한 후 다차원척도법(multidimensional scaling; MDS), 거리분석(analysis of distance; AOD) 그리고 비모수적 기법인 순열검정(permutation test)을 적용하여 문제를 해결할 수 있다. 다차원척도법은 비유사성으로부터 개체들의 좌표를 계산해주며 거리분석은 이 좌표를 활용하여 그룹구조를 파악하는데 유용하다. 특히 비유사성의 측도로 유클리드 거리를 사용하면 거리분석은 다변량 분산분석과 수리적으로 매우 밀접한 연관관계를 맺는다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 그룹화된 비유사성에 다차원척도법과 거리분석을 적용하여 그룹 내와 그룹 간의 구조를 파악하고 순열검정을 위한 새로운 검정통계량을 제안하려 한다. 덧붙여 유클리드 거리를 활용한 비유사성을 통해 거리분석과 다변량 분산분석과의 수리적 연관성을 고찰하고자 한다.

Generalization of Staggered Nested Designs for Precision Experiments

  • Staggered nested designs are the most popular class of unbalanced nested designs in practical fields. The most important features of the staggered nested design are that it has a very simple open-ended structure and each sum of squares in the analysis of variance has almost the same degrees of freedom. Based on the features, a class of unbalanced nested designs which is generalized of the staggered nested design is proposed. Some of the generalized staggered nested designs are shown to be more efficient than the staggered nested design in estimating some of variance components and their linear combinations.

  • Rapid globalization of production and marketing functions makes choice of international transportation mode of great importance. In this paper, transportation mode is characterized by two factors, mean and variability of transportation lead time. We developed a simple mathematical model to estimate the relative impact of mean lead time, lead time variance and demand variance on the required average inventory level under specified service rates.

  • 本 論文은 大氣 空間에서 信號場과 雜音場을 處理하기 위하여 point-detector array檢波 시스템을 構成한 것이다. 또 variance 및 covariance Circuit도 구성했다. 이것들을 이용하여 測定한 直接檢波 最大出力은 理論値와 잘 一致함을 確認하였고 또한 實驗値는 joint-Gaussian理論曲線과 一致하였다.

  • Individual effect of genes controlling quantitative traits can not ordinarily be distinguised from one another. Consequently, it is not possible to determine the mode of inheritance for single genes. By studying their combined effectsin segregating generations, however, one can gain some insight into their behavior and can make statistical inferences about their average gene action. The investigation reported herein was to extend genetic variance components and variance and covariance analyses, special attention was given to the genetic statistics from which least square estimators of genetic parameters are obtained.
