  • This study has been accomplished as a experimental study for field application of 3D Perspective Image Map creation using Digital Topographical Map and based on the Ortho-Projection Image which is generated from Satellite Overlay Images and the precise Relative Coordinates of longitude, latitude and altitude which is corrected by GCP(Ground Control Point). AS to Contour Lines Map which is created by Coordinate conversion of 1:5,000 Topographical Map, we firstly made Satellite Image Map to substitute for Digital Topographical Map through overlapping the original images on top of each Ortho-Projection Image created and checking the accuracy. In addition to 3D Image Map creation for 3D Terrain analysis of a target district, Slope Gradient Analysis, Aspect Analysis and Terrain Elevation Model generation, multidirectional 3D Image generation by DEM can be carried out through this study. This study is to develop a mapping technology with which we can generate 3D Satellite Images of a target district through the composition of Digital Maps and Facility Blueprint and arbitrarily create 3D Perspective Images of the target district from any view point.

  • This study analyzed the visual images covering 'the changes of weather' in elementary science textbooks by 2007 curriculum revision from a perspective of linguistics. The findings showed that there were inclined to increasing in terms of ideational and textual metafunctions. It meant that the informative images were increased and the form of images became more abstractive. It also showed an increase in terms of interpersonal metafunctions. It was interpreted as decreasing the ratios of images inducing epistemological detachments and increasing images help familiarity and involvement between images and readers. These results showed that the visual images of 'the changes of weather' in 2007 revised elementary science textbook were professionally, technical, and abstractive in terms of the contents and formality. And these trends of images were complemented by the involvement and familiarity of images in the aspect of interpersonal metafunctions.

  • The purpose of this study was to clarify the spatial relationship of temporomandibular joint and to an aid in the diagnosis of temporomandibular disorder. For this study, three-dimensional images of normal temporomandibular joints were reconstructed by computer image analysis system and three-dimensional reconstructive program integrated in computed tomography. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Two-dimensional computed tomograms had the better resolution than three dimensional computed tomograms in the evaluation of bone structure and the disk of TMJ. 2. Direct sagittal computed tomograms and coronal computed tomograms had the better resolution in the evaluation of the disk of TMJ. 3. The positional relationship of the disk could be visualized, but the configuration of the disk could not be clearly visualized on three-dimensional reconstructive CT images. 4. Three-dimensional reconstructive CT images had the smoother margin than three-dimensional images reconstructed by computer image analysis system, but the images of the latter had the better perspective. 5. Three-dimensional reconstructive images had the better spatial relationship of the TMJ articulation, and the joint spaces were more clearly visualized on dissection images.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the spatial relationship of facial bone more accurately. For this study, the three-dimensional images of dry skull were reconstructed using computer image analysis system and three-dimensional reconstructive program involved CT. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Three-dimensional reconstructive CT results in images that have better resolution and more contrast 2. It showed good marginal images of anatomical structure on both three-dimensional CT and computer image analysis system, but the roof of orbit, the lacrimal bone and the squamous portion of temporal bone were hardly detectable. 3. The partial loss of image data were observed during the regeneration of saved image data on three-dimensional CT. 4. It saved the more time for reconstruction of three-dimensional images using computer image analysis system. But, the capacity of hardware was limited for inputting of image data and three-dimensional reconstructive process. 5. We could observe the spatial relationship between the region of interest and the surrounding structures by three-dimensional reconstructive images without invasive method.

  • This research was designed to compare the subjective evaluation of texture image and preference according to fiber blending ratio of men's suit fabrics. 110 subjects evaluated the texture image and preference of various fabrics. For statistical analysis, factor analysis, MDS, pearson correlation and ANOVA were used. The results were as follows: Sensory image factors of suit fabrics were 'smoothness', 'bulkiness', 'stiffness', 'elasticity', 'moistness' and 'weight sensation'. Sensibility image factors were 'classic', 'practical', 'characteristic' and 'sophisticated'. 'Bulkiness' and 'elasticity' sensory images showed high correlations with sensibility images. Fabrics with high wool blending ratio showed as 'classic' and 'sophisticated', 'bulkiness' and 'elasticity' texture images and fabrics with low wool blending ratio showed texture images of 'characteristic', 'surface character', 'stiffness', 'moistness' and 'weight sensation'. Wool fiber blending ratio affected on the purchase preference and tactile preference. Using regression analysis, it was shown that sensibility images had more of an effect on preference than sensory images. The thickness and pattern type showed positive effects and fiber blending ratio showed negative effects on the preference.

  • In our study we performed a sentiments analysis from the images. For this purpose, we used 153 images that contain: people, animals, buildings, landscapes, cakes and objects that we divided into two categories: images that suggesting a positive or a negative emotion. In order to classify the images using the two categories, we created two models. The SAI-G model was created with Google's AutoML Vision service. The SAI-C model was created on the Clarifai platform. The data were labeled in a preprocessing stage, and for the SAI-C model we created the concepts POSITIVE (POZITIV) AND NEGATIVE (NEGATIV). In order to evaluate the performances of the two models, we used a series of evaluation metrics such as: Precision, Recall, ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristic) curve, Precision-Recall curve, Confusion Matrix, Accuracy Score and Average precision. Precision and Recall for the SAI-G model is 0.875, at a confidence threshold of 0.5, while for the SAI-C model we obtained much lower scores, respectively Precision = 0.727 and Recall = 0.571 for the same confidence threshold. The results indicate a lower classification performance of the SAI-C model compared to the SAI-G model. The exception is the value of Precision for the POSITIVE concept, which is 1,000.

  • Ground-glass opacity nodules(GGNs) in chest CT images are associated with lung cancer, and have a different malignant rate depending on existence of solid component in the nodules. In this paper, we propose a method to classify pure GGNs and part-solid GGNs using multiview images and texture analysis in pulmonary GGNs with solid components of 5mm or smaller. We extracted 1521 features from the GGNs segmented from the chest CT images and classified the GGNs using a SVM classification model with selected features that classify pure GGNs and part-solid GGNs through a feature selection method. Our method showed 85% accuracy using the SVM classifier with the top 10 features selected in the multiview images.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel robust blind crypto-watermarking method for medical images security based on hiding of DICOM patient information (patient name, age...) in the medical imaging. The DICOM patient information is encrypted using the AES standard algorithm before its insertion in the medical image. The cover image is divided in blocks of 8x8, in each we insert 1-bit of the encrypted watermark in the hybrid transform domain by applying respectively the 2D-LWT (Lifting wavelet transforms), the 2D-DCT (discrete cosine transforms), and the SVD (singular value decomposition). The scheme is tested by applying various attacks such as noise, filtering and compression. Experimental results show that no visible difference between the watermarked images and the original images and the test against attack shows the good robustness of the proposed algorithm.

  • 3-dimensional magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) images reconstructed using the maximum intensity projection technique were analyzed qualitatively in patients diagnosed with pancreatobiliary diseases to determine their diagnostic utility. Single shot fast spin echo (SSFSE), fast spin echo (FSE) and 3-dimensional reconstructive images were acquired from 20 patients diagnosed histologically with pancreatobiliary diseases using a 3.0T MR scanner. According to qualitative analysis, the fast spin echo images and 3-dimensional reconstructed images of the hepatic duct, gall bladder and common bile duct had a higher signal to noise ratio (SNR) than the single shot fast spin echo images. Fast spin echo images and 3-dimensional reconstructed images did not show any differences. The contrast to noise ratio of the hepatic duct, gallbladder and common bile duct on the fast spin echo images and 3-dimensional reconstructed images was higher than that of the single shot fast spin echo images. The fast spin echo images and 3-dimensional reconstructed images showed similar quality.

  • Partial volume averaging effect of PET data influences on the accuracy of quantitative measurements of regional brain metabolism because spatial resolution of PET is limited. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of partial volume correction carried out on $^{18}$ F-PET images using Hoffman brain phantom. $^{18}$ F-PET Hoffman phantom images were co-registered to MR slices of the same phantom. All the MR slices of the phantom were then segmented to be binary images. Each of these binary images was convolved in 2 dimensions with the spatial resolution of the PET. The original PET images were then divided by the smoothed binary images in slice-by-slice, voxel-by-voxel basis resulting in larger PET image volume in size. This enlarged partial volume corrected PET image volume was multiplied by original binary image volume to exclude extracortical region. The evaluation of partial volume corrected PET image volume was performed by region of interests (ROI) analysis applying ROIs, which were drawn on cortical regions of the original MR image slices, to corrected and original PET image volume. From the ROI analysis, range of regional mean values increases of partial volume corrected PET images was 4 to 14%, and average increase for all the ROIs was about 10% in this phantom study. Hoffman brain phantom study was useful for the objective evaluation of the partial volume correction method. This MR-based correction method would be applicable to patients in the. quantitative analysis of FDG-PET studies.
