Sky-bridge로 연결된 구조물의 지진해석을 위한 등가모델 (An Equivalent Model for Seismic Analysis of Structures Connected by a Sky-bridge)

  • Recently, high-rise building structures connected by a sky-bridge are frequently constructed. To predict accurate dynamic responses of structures connected a sky-bridge, time history analysis is required. Repetitive analyses are required in the design process. If the entire structure model is employed in the repetitive time history analysis, it would take a lot of computational time and engineers' efforts. Therefore, an equivalent model for high-rise building structures connected by a sky-bridge was proposed in this study. The proposed model consists of cantilever having original structure's stiffnesses and masses. Based on the analytical results, it has been shown that the equivalent model can reduce the analysis time and provide similar seismic responses to the original model.

  • This paper presents a method to convert 3D CAD model to an appropriate analysis model using wrap-around, smooth-out and thinning operators that have been originally developed to realize the multi-resolution modeling. Wrap-around and smooth-out operators are used to simplify 3D model, and thinning operator is to reduce the dimension of a target object with simultaneously decomposing the simplified 3D model to 1D or 2D shapes. By using the simplification and dimension-reduction operations in an appropriate way, the user can generate an analysis model that matches specific applications. The advantage of this method is that the user can create optimized analysis models of various simplification levels by selecting appropriate number of detailed features and removing them.

  • Computer-based methods have often been used in the structural analysis. But, regardless of the progress in the technique of structural analysis, there are inevitable limitations in consideration of the material and eometric nonlinearity and prediction of failure loads. Model analysis of concrete structure can supplement this kind of limitations to reasonably predict behavior of the structure. Similitude requirement in the reinforced concrete structure is often hard to be secured because of peculiar uncertainty of concrete. In this study, small scale model of subway box structure was constructed using strength model and results of model of subway box structure was constructed using strength model and results of model test and computer-based analysis were compared.

대형 선박엔진용 크랭크축 해석을 위한 보-질량 모델 생성 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Efficient Generation of Beam-Mass Model for Simplification of the Crankshaft in the Large Marine Engine)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the simplified model of the crankshaft in the large marine engine for dynamic analysis. Because the actual engine system is under complex dynamic loading condition and it has multi-cylinder, the dynamic analysis is purchased at a high computation cost. In spite of this burden, the dynamic analysis must be perfonned to assure structural integrity of operating marine engine. Therefore, simplification of the analytic model is necessary for dynamic analysis. Beam-mass model, which is generated with the section property method, is the model simplified effectively. Section property method can provide desired section information by optimization technique. By applying beam-mass model to the crankshaft in the large marine engine, the usefulness of the proposed method was proven.

  • We design a DEA-AR model using multiple regression analysis with new methods which limit weights. When there are multiple input and single output variables, our model can be used, and the weights of input variables use the regression coefficient and coefficient of determination. To verify the effectiveness of the new model, we evaluate the efficiency of the Regional Corporations in Korea. Accordance with statistical analysis, it proved that there is no difference between the efficiency value of the DEA-AR using AHP and our DEA-AR model. Our model can be applied to a lot of research by substituting DEA-AR model relying on AHP in the future.

  • Recently, the assessment of a bank efficiency focusing on its branches has been conceived as important in developing a competitive strategy. DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) model can be employed as an effective analysis model for such an assessment. Therefore, this paper proposes an analysis process using DEA model to conduct an efficiency assessment of bank branches. The proposed process includes a segmentation of branches considering their competitive environment and strategy for target market : this approach can help to develop effective strategies for each group of branches. The proposed DEA model can analyze efficiency in terms of not only cost but also marketing. Finally, a real case is analyzed, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed model and process.

  • The most important non-functional requirements for dependability of any Embedded Real-Time Safety Systems are safety, availability and reliability requirements. System architecture plays the primary role in achieving these requirements. Compliance with these non-functional requirements should be ensured early in the development cycle with appropriate considerations during architectural design. In this paper, we present an application of system architecture modeling for quantitative assessment of system dependability. We use probabilistic model checker (PRISM), for dependability analysis of the DTMC model derived from system architecture model. In general, the model checking techniques do not scale well for analyzing large systems, because of prohibitively large state space. It limits the use of model checking techniques in analyzing the systems of practical interest. We propose abstraction based compositional analysis methodology to circumvent this limitation. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology has been demonstrated using the case study involving the dependability analysis of safety system of a large Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR).

한옥의 구조해석 모델 검토 및 활용을 위한 가상현실 소프트웨어 (Virtual Reality Software for Review and Use of Structural Analysis Model of Hanok)

  • 본 연구에서는 한옥의 해석모델 구축을 지원하고, 구축된 해석모델의 활용도를 높이고자 이를 활용한 가상현실 소프트웨어를 개발하였다. 한옥의 구조해석 모델은 범용 구조해석 소프트웨어인 midas Gen으로 생성하고, 이를 문자기반 입력파일로 변환한 후 본 연구에서 개발된 소프트웨어에서 한옥 해석모델의 검토에 필요한 자료들을 저장한다. 개발된 가상현실 소프트웨어 내에서 3차원으로 표현된 한옥의 해석모델은 시점을 변경하며 살펴볼 수 있고 특정 부재를 선택하여 관련된 자료를 확인할 수 있다. 이러한 과정을 통해 해석모델의 오류를 확인 및 수정하여 완결된 해석모델을 구축할 수 있다. 개발된 소프트웨어는 3개의 한옥 사례에 적용하여 그 적용성과 효용성을 검증하였으며, 구조분야 이외의 타 분야에서도 활용될 수 있다.

Elasto-plastic Analysis of Circular Cylindrical Shell under Horizontal Load by Rigid-bodies Spring Model

  • This paper is a study on the experiment and elasto-plastic discrete limit analysis of reinforced concrete circular cylindrical shell by the rigid-bodies spring model. In the rigid bodies-spring model, each collapsed part or piece of structures at the limiting state of loading is assumed to behave like rigid bodies. The present author propose new discrete elements for elasto-plastic analysis of cylindrical shell structures, that is, a rectangular-shaped cylindrical element and a rhombus-shaped cylindrical element for the improvement and expansion of this rigid-bodies spring model. In this study, it is proposed how this rigid element-bodies spring model can be applied to the elasto-plastic discrete limit analysis of cylindrical shell structures. Some numerical results of elasto-plastic discrete limit analysis and experimental results such as the curve of load-displacement and the yielding and fracturing pattern of circular cylindrical shell under horizontal load are shown.

동시 이중주파수를 이용한 기어 열처리의 열·전자기 연성 해석 (Thermal-electromagnetic Coupled Analysis for Gear Heat Treatment using Simultaneous Duel Frequency)

  • In this paper, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for gear heat treatment using simultaneous dual frequency (SDF) induction heating is conducted. To do this, thermal-electromagnetic coupled FE model is built. A two dimensional FE model of gear and heater is introduced to reduce computation time. For more time-efficient analysis, harmonic analysis for electromagnetic model is adopted and transient analysis model, for heat transfer model. Through the coupled analysis, it can be found that the proposed FE model can solve for SDF induction heating of gear and heat treatment parameters can also be determined.
