  • The purpose of this study was to develop the household analysis and diagnosis program for the enhancement of family welfare focusing on the household of middle-aged full-time housewives. From the review of related literatures, the following areas of total family life were selected ; household management, time use, housing, household materials, finance, communication and decision making. Considering that the program subjects were middle-aged full-time housewives, the preparation for elderly life and the identity as housewife, one of the healthy family members, are appended. The progresses for the development of household analysis and diagnosis program were as follows: 1. to select the useful area of family life, 2. to make the indicators which explain the status of family life, and 3. to decide the scales for the diagnosis. This program has various uses such as the development of self-evaluation program, program for various family life course. Through this program the strength and weakness of family life can be found and the planning for the enforcement of family life can be practiced.

  • Vector algorithms and the relative importance of the four basic modules (computation of element stiffness matrices, assembly of the global stiffness matrix, solution of the system of linear simultaneous equations, and calculation of stresses and strains) of a finite element computer program for inelastic analysis of reinforced concrete shells are presented. Performance of the vector program is compared with a scalar program. For a cooling tower problem, the speedup factor from the scalar to the vector program is 34 for the element stiffness matrices calculation, 25.3 for the assembly of global stiffness matrix, 27.5 for the equation solver, and 37.8 for stresses, strains and nodal forces computations on a Gray Y-MP. The overall speedup factor is 30.9. When the equation solver alone is vectorized, which is computationally the most intensive part of a finite element program, a speedup factor of only 1.9 is achieved. When the rest of the program is also vectorized, a large additional speedup factor of 15.9 is attained. Therefore, it is very important that all the modules in a nonlinear program are vectorized to gain the full potential of the supercomputers. The vector finite element computer program for inelastic analysis of RC shells with layered elements developed in the present study enabled us to perform mesh convergence studies. The vector program can be used for studying the ultimate behavior of RC shells and used as a design tool.

  • A comutation server is needed to provide analysis programs to Korean biologists, especially genome researchers, on GINet. For each analysis program, we implmented an input form with HTML and a CGI program for interface between an input form and an analysis program with C language on GINet computatin Web server. We made two construction methods of CGI programs for analysis programs, and implemented all CGI programs based on the methods followed by modifying each CGI program for specific processing of each program. On the server ten programs are availabel now, which include most frequently used ones and those developed by our team, and most programs with will be ported or developed by our team will be available on the Web server.

  • In this study, we develop the statistical analysis program for genetic analysis of diallel crosses data by SAS/MACRO, SAS/IML. Genetic analysis is to estimate of genetics parameters and heredity with reciprocal cross and without reciprocal cross. Statistical analysis program solve the problem of the difficulties on the data analysis in field denetics and breeding Therefore the user whoever want to analysis of data on genetics and breeding easily conduct the work saving time and suffering.

  • As the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution enters, the importance of software safety is increasing, but related systematic educational curriculum and trained professional engineers are insufficient. The purpose of this research is to propose the high priority elements for the software safety education program through needs analysis. For this purpose, 74 candidate elements of software safety education program were derived through contents analysis of literature and nominal group technique (NGT) process with five software safety professionals from various industries in South Korea. Targeting potential education participants including industrial workers and students, an on-line survey was conducted to measure the current and required level of each element. Using descriptive statistics, t-test, Borich needs assessment and Locus for focus model, 16 high priority elements were derived for software safety education program. Based on the results, suggestions were made to develop a more effective education program for software safety education.

  • Variable displacement swash plate piston pump analysis requires electric, hydraulics and dynamics which are similar to the one's incorporated in the complex fluid power and mechanical systems. The main variable capacity for the swash plate piston pumps, hydraulics or simple kinematic (swash plate degree, piston displacement) models are analyzed using AMESim, a multi-physics analysis program. AMESim is a multi-physics hydraulic analysis program that is considered good for the environment but not appropriate for environmental analysis for multibody dynamics. In this study, the analytical model of the swash plate type hydraulic piston pump variable capacity is modeled by combining the hydraulic part and the dynamic part through co-simulation of multibody dynamics program (Virtual.lab Motion) and multi-physics analysis (AMESim). This paper describes the whole modeling analysis method on the mechanical analysis of the multi-body dynamics program and how the hydraulic analysis in multi-physics analysis program works. This paper also presents a methodology for analyzing complex fluid power systems.

  • The construction and ability of CAE program are presented. The merit and ability of MATLAB which is widely using in the field of recently engineering and natural science are also introduced. Also, analysis program of frame structure used the MATLAB language which is divide in 4th generation language is presented. In this paper, the proposed program using MATLB language to be based upon the composition of general CAE program is composed to preprocess, solver and post-process procedure. And it is able to carried out the static and eigenvalue analysis of truss structure and two dimensional frame structure. Also, for the sample pre-processing and post-processing, it is used the characteristic of input window and plot window to be made of the various GUI function. Each finite elements to be required for analysis is formulated by the Galerkin's method, as a kind of weighted residual method. For check of the results of calculation for program used in this paper, the results to be calculated using program to be developed by the author was compared with its of ANSYS code for general structural analysis about two dimensional truss and frame structure.

  • The purpose of this study was investigate the effects of internship program particularly how the satisfaction with the internship program affects the students’ career decisions. Culinary major students at 5 different two-year colleges in Seoul and Kyunggi-do participated in this study. Out of 500 questionnaires, 415 were analysed using SPSS 13.0 and descriptive analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, chi-square, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were used. Based on conducting factor analysis results, the satisfaction measurement was classified into 4 factors: constructs, contents, benefit, environments and communication. Cronbach’s alpha was calculated for the reliability of the survey instrument. Two-thirds of the students (66.9%) answered that the internship program had helped them to decide their career. Particularly, constructs and contents of the internship program presented statistically significance to the career path. Based on the satisfaction level, students in high level wanted to be chefs while those in low level wanted to leave to other jobs. The overall satisfaction with the internship program differed according to the time of internship, internship duration, and place of internship.

  • Widespread propagation of failure can be triggered by localized damage to a structure because of fires, impact and explosion etc. In this paper, the progressive collapse analysis program is developed to automatically check the failed members and construct the modified structural model at each step. OpenSees, that is widely used in many research groups, was used for the developed progressive collapse analysis control program. The control program developed in this study automatically computes the damage indices of all the structural members and performance a progressive collapse analysis after the first failed member is selected. Using the developed program, we compared the progressive collapse behaviors of the example structures considering dynamic effects or not, and the difference of progressive collapse mechanism according to the modeling method of the failed members.
