  • Several instances of synergistic interaction have been identified between alkyl amine oxide and long chain fatty acohol polyethoxylates in various surfactant formulation. The purpose of this study was examined whether these benefits could be observed within the framework of generic hand-surface cleaning formulations. Comparative evaluation were also carried out to determine the performance characteristics of low-and zero-phosphate systems in which amine oxide and alcohol ethoxylates are used. Best cleaning was observed with 1:1 mixtures of the subject surfactants, but substantial improvements over fatty alcohol ethoxylate alone also were noted with formulations that contained lower ratios of amine oxide.

  • Hydroxypropyl methacrylate polymeric membranes having tertiary amine moiety were prepared to control the release rate of insulin in response to the concentration of glucose. Hydroxypropyl methacrylate was copolymerized with N, N'-diethylaminoethylacrylate. Its water content was increased with decreasing the pH of the medium and was reversible with variation of the pH of the medium. The permeation coefficient of insulin through copolymer membrane was also increased with decreasing the pH of the medium. Combining this copolymer membrane and the glucose oxidase immobilized membrane as a sensor for glucose, composite membrane was prepared. The permeability of this composite membrane was increased with addition of glucose.

  • Distribution coefficients between nitrobanzene solution and deionized water, show a straight line when the number of alkyl radicals against the logarithm of distribution coefficient of the salts was plotted. After extracting salts of the indicator and the cationic surfactants with organic solvents, and employing the colorimetric method was used. A calculation method of distribution coefficients of the salts in the organic solvent has been suggested and it could be used for the extraction equilibrium of the primary amine, $CH_{3}(CH_2)_{n}NH_3^+$ secondary amine, $CH_{3}(CH_2)_{n}NH_{2}(CH_3)^+$, tertiary amine $CH_{3}(CH_2)_{n}NH(CH_3)_2^+$ and quaternary ammonium, $CH_{3}(CH_2)_{n}N(CH_3)_3^+$MO$^-$salts, (n=3,5,7,11).

  • We report the solid-phase library construction of 222 number of a novel N-[alkyl sulfonamido-spiro(2H-1-benzopyran-2,4-piperidine)-6-yl] substituted amide 1A and amine 1B derivatives. The polymer-bound N-[alkylsulfonamido-spiro(2H-1-benzopyran-2,4-piperidine)-6-yl] substituted amide 9 and amine 10 derivatives were obtained by first diversity generation with various acid chlorides and alkyl halides. Further reactions on the resins 9 and 10 with substituted sulfonyl chlorides produced the desired N-[alkylsulfonamido-spiro(2H-1-benzopyran-2,4-piperidine)-6-yl] substituted amide 1A and amine 1B analogues.

  • Carboxylic acids are examples of compounds with wide industrial applications and high potential, This article presents the principles of reactive extraction along with the character-istics of tertiary amine extractants, while is given on considering the effect of the amine class and chain length, As such a brief overview the current research on reactive extraction, including the recovery of citric acid, selective amine-based extraction , and extractive fermentation is given. When discussing extractive fermentation strategies for reducing solvent toxicity are also suggested based on specific examples. Finally, solvent regeneration and stripping of extracted acid explained.

  • The reaction of carbon dioxide with the amine-based absorbents which have various substituents in the molecule was described. In the case of MEA which is a representative primary amine, the absorption reaction was proceeded very fast while the regeneration reaction was took place slowly due to the strong bond strength between the absorbent and carbon dioxide. The more substituents on N atom of the absorbent, the slower the absorption reaction between carbon dioxide and the absorbent, which in turn causes faster the regeneration rate from the reaction intermediate, carbamate.

  • Choline esters that are used with substrate of BChE-catalyzed hydrolyses were synthesized by two methods. First, 2-chloroethyl thiohexanoate, 2-chloroethyl thioheptanoate, and 2-chloroethyl thiooctanoate were synthesized by the treatment of hexanoyl chloride with ethylene sulfide. Hexanoyl thiocholine and octanoyl thiocholine were synthesized by using 2-chloroethyl thiohexanoate and 2-chloroethyl thiooctanoate with trimethyl amine. Second, after reaction of ethylene sulfide and dimethyl amine, followed by acylation with acid anhydride and then heptanonyl thiocholine, decanoyl thiocholine were synthesized by treatment of methyl iodide.

  • Porous silica-pillared montmorillonites were prepared by simultaneous intercalation of dodecylamine-TEOS [tetraethylorthosilicate, Si(OC2H5)4] into the H-montmorillonite and intragallery amine-catalyzed hydrolysis of TEOS. Mixtures of the H-montmorillonite, dodecylamine and TEOS at molar ratios of 1 : 2 : 15-30 and 1 : 2-6 : 20 resulted to swollen and viscous gel once at room temperature, allowing intercalation compounds which dodecylamine and TEOS were simultaneously intercalated into interlayer of H-montmorillonite. The hydrolysis of the gallery TEOS was conducted in water solution for 40 min at room temperature, affording siloxane-pillared H-montmorillonite. Calcination of samples at 500 $^{\circ}C$ in air resulted in silica-pillared montmorillonite with large specific surface areas between 403 and 577 m2 /g, depending on the reaction stoichiometry. The reaction at H-montmorillonite : dodecylamine : TEOS reaction stoichiometries of 1 : 2 : 15 and 1 : 4 : 20 resulted in high specific surface areas and mesopores with a narrow pore size distribution. Result indicates that the intragallery-amine catalyze the hydrolysis of gallery-TEOS and simultaneously have a role of gallery-templated micellar assemblies.
