Effects of post-baking treatment conditions on the interfacial adhesion between electroless plated Ni and polyimide film were evaluated using $180^{\circ}C$ peel test. Measured peel strength values monotonically decrease from $38.6{\pm}1.1g/mm\;to\;26.8{\pm}2.2g/mm$ for the variations of post-baking treatment temperatures from $80^{\circ}C\;to\;180^{\circ}C$, respectively. Wet chemical treatment on the polyimide surface produces carboxyl and amide functional groups on the surface which is closely related to the change in interfacial adhesion between electroless Ni and polyimide films. It is speculated that interfacial adhesion seems to be controlled by carbonyl oxygen bonding near cohesive failure region during post-baking treatment.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the dyeability of crabyon fiber contained cotton towels after dyeing with gallut. In this study, the colorants of gallnut were extracted with boiling water at 60℃ and 60min. Crabyon, composite fiber of Chitin/Chitosan and cellulose, is manufactured by uniformly blending Chitin/Chitosan and cellulose viscose and extruding the blended viscose into spin-bath. Cotton towels with crabyon fiber dyed with extracted solution from gallnut according to concentration, temperature and time. Crabyon fiber contained cotton towels dyed using gallnut were pre of post-mordanted using Al, Cu, and Fe. The dyeability(K/S) and color characteristics(L*, a*, b*, C, and h(color angle)) of dyed crabyon fiber contained cotton towels were measured by computer color matching machine and photographs. The crabyon fiber composition of cotton towels was conformed by amide peak(-CONH-) of chitin or chitosan of FT-IR spectroscopy. The results obtained were as follows; The amide peak of crabyon fiber contained cotton towels appeared at about 1652 cm−1. The dyeability of crabyon fiber contained cotton towel was increased gradually with increasing concentration of gallnut dyeing solution and saturated at about 150%(o.w.f). The optimum dyeing temperature and dyeing time were 90~100℃ and 80minutes expectively. The crabyon fiber contained cotton towels were dyed reddish yellow by non, Al, and Cu mordanting, reddish blue by Fe mordanting, respectively. The fastness to washing according to concentration of gallnut in and mordanting method indicated good grade result as more than 3~4 degree in all conditions.
Fusarium root rot caused by the soil-borne fungus Fusarium solani is one of the most important fungal diseases of cassava in Thailand, resulting in high yield losses of more than 80%. This study aimed to investigate if the exogenous application of salicylic acid formulations (Zacha) can induce resistance in cassava against Fusarium root rot and observe the biochemical changes in induced cassava leaf tissues through synchrotron radiation based on Fourier-transform infrared (SR-FTIR) microspectroscopy. We demonstrated that the application of Zacha11 prototype formulations could induce resistance against Fusarium root rot in cassava. The in vitro experimental results showed that Zacha11 prototype formulations inhibited the growth of F. solani at approximately 34.83%. Furthermore, a significant reduction in the disease severity of Fusarium root rot disease at 60 days after challenge inoculation was observed in cassava plants treated with Zacha11 at a concentration of 500 ppm (9.0%). Population densities of F. solani were determined at 7 days after inoculation. Treatment of the Zacha11 at a concentration of 500 ppm resulted in reduced populations compared with the distilled water control and differences among treatment means at each assay date. Moreover, the SR-FTIR spectral changes of Zacha11-treated epidermal tissues of leaves had higher integral areas of lipids, lignins, and pectins (1,770-1,700/cm), amide I (1,700-1,600/cm), amide II (1,600-1,500/cm), hemicellulose, lignin (1,300-1,200/cm), and cellulose (1,155/cm). Therefore, alteration in defensive carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins contributed to generate barriers against Fusarium invasion in cassava roots, leading to lower the root rot disease severity.
Substituted cinnamoyl-tyramine derivatives were synthesized by DCC-coupling of substituted cinnamic acid with tyramine or tyramine methyl-1-ether to evaluate PAF-receptor binding antagonistic activities and inhibitory activities on PAF-induced platelet aggregation with interest on structure-activity relations. The results show that 3,4-dimethoxy-cinnamoyl tyramine-amide or its methyl ether have significant PAF-receptor binding antagonistic activity and platelet anti-aggregatory activities.
The interaction of mastoparan B, a cationic tetradecapeptide amide isolated from the hornet Vespa basalis, with phospholipid bilayers was studied with synthetic mastoparan B and its analogue with Ala instead of hydrophobic 12th amino acid residue in mastoparan B. MP-B and its derivative, [12-Ala]MP-B were synthesized by the solid-phase peptide synthesis method. MP-B and its analogue, [12-Ala]MP-B adopted an unordered structure in buffer solution. In the presence of neutral and acidic liposomes, the peptides took an $\alpha$-helical structure. The two peptides interacted with neutral and acidic lipid bilayers. These results indicated that the hydrophobic face in the amphipathic $\alpha$-helix of MP-B critically affected the biological activity and helical content.
Blends of collagen dispersion (COL) with poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) in different weight ratios were investigated by oscillatory rheometry, Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. It was found that even with 80% of PVA, the COL/PVA blends behaved more like collagen dispersion than pure PVA solution in the dynamic thermal and frequency processing, for instance, a dominant elastic appearance (G'>G"), a similar shear thinning behavior and the thermal denaturation below $40^{\circ}C$. However, influence on the blend behaviour by PVA was noticeable, for instance, an increase of dynamic denaturation temperature, the decreasing intensity of amide I, II and III bands as well as the diminishing irregular pores on the surface of blends. The interaction between collagen and PVA could be observed, especially at the regions with low content or high content of PVA.
In order to utilize the processing wastes of squid, chitosan was prepared by intermittent deacetylation treaoent of $\beta-chitin$ contained richly in the pen of squid. Acetylchitosan also was synthesized from squid pen chitosan with anhydrous acetic acid and their characteristics were investigated. The amounts of nitrogen and ash of squid pen chitosan were $5.80.2\% and 0.2\pm0.03\%$ respectively, the yield of squid pen chitosan was $25\pm3\%$, the degree of deacetylation was $92\%$, and the molecular weight was $1.15\times10^6$, Acetyl contents of N-acetylchitosan powder, acetylchitosan bead, N-ACF-1 (N-acetylchitosan film-1) and N-ACF-2 (N-acetylchitosan film-2) were $55.9\%, 63.2\%, 56\% and 58.7\%$ respectively. Two major peaks, amide I ($1,653 cm^{-1}$) and II ($1,558 cm^{-1}$) bent, on FT-IR spectra of the N-acetylchitosan from squid pen were almost similar to these of $\beta-chitin$, While there was a broad single peak at $1,601 cm^{-1}$assigned to be an amide I bend in squid pen chitosan. The CP/MAS NMR spectra of $\beta-chitin$, squid pen chitosan and N-acetylchitosan from squid pen showed a relative broad and single peak at 74 ppm assigned to fifth carbon (C-5) and third carbon (C-3). In case of $\beta-chitin$ and N-acetylchitosan from squid pen, single peak at 74 ppm was showed as the same of $\beta-chitin$ type.
The bridged disulphato complex $[Cr_2(NH_2)_2(H_2O)_2(SO_4)_2]{\cdot}2H_2O$, terminal triisocyanato $[Cr(NCO)_3(H_2O)]{\cdot}3H_2O$ complex and limonite, $[FeO(OH)]{\cdot}0.2H_2O$ compound were prepared by the reaction of $Cr_2(SO_4)_3{\cdot}xH_2O, Cr(CH_3COO)_3$ and $Fe_2(SO_4)_3$, respectively, with urea in aqueous media at $80^{\circ}C$. The infrared spectra of the products indicate that the absence of the bands of urea, but shows the characteristic bands of coordinated amide, water, bridged sulphato and isocyanato groups. Thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) measurements on the complexes are also recorded. The data obtained agree quite well with the expected structures. A general mechanisms describing the formation and its thermal decomposition of the complexes are suggested.

In this studies, the adsorption test using Chlorella pyrenoidosa was conducted to examine the effect of Pb adsorption according to various immobilized methods such as Ca-alginate, K-carrageenan, and Polyacrylamide. From the results, the duration to need to reach adsorption equilibrium was delayed according to the immobilization. And, the higher adsorption capacity of immobilized Chlorella pyrenoidosa was represented in the higher concentration of Pb, the smaller amount of immobilizing agent, and the higher pH of solution. The maximum adsorption capacity of Pb was shown in the adsorption test using Chlorella pyrenoidosa immobilized with Ca-alginate even though it was sensitive pH. The adsorption results properly represented with Freundlich isotherm equations. And, pseudo second-order chemisorption kinetic rate equation was applicable to all the biosorption data over the entire time range. The FT-IR analysis showed that the mechanism involved in biosorption of Pb by Chlorella pyrenoidosa was mainly attributed to Pb binding of carbo-acid and amide group. Adsorbed Pb on immobilized Chlorella prenoidosa was easily desorbed in the higher concentration of desorbents(NTA, HCl, EDTA, $H_2SO_4,\;Na_2CO_3$). Among the several desorbents, NTA showed the maximum desoption capacities of Pb from Chlorella pyrenoidosa immobilized with Ca-alginate and K-carrageenan and EDTA was the most effective in Chlorella pyrenoidosa immobilized with polyacrylamide. The desoprtion efficiency in the optimum condition was 90.0, 83.0, and 80.0%, respectively.
In this study, we measured the leakage current at $30{\sim}80^{\circ}C$ and $90{\sim}170^{\circ}C$ under a voltage of 200~980 V applied to samples (ordinary temperature) and polyamide film specimens degraded at $170^{\circ}C$ for 20 minute respectively. After the specimen was degraded at $130^{\circ}C$ and $50^{\circ}C$, a voltage of 200 to 800 V was applied for 10 to 60 minutes. The measurement of the leakage current resulted in the following conclusions. In the case of using Al and Cu as the main electrode, it was confirmed that the leakage current also increased in high temperatures as the voltage increased. Regardless of the type of main electrode, when the temperature was constant at $130^{\circ}C$ and $50^{\circ}C$, the leakage current increased as the voltage increased, and gradually decreased with time. As a result of the FTIR measurement, the main absorption of the infrared absorption spectrum was C=O at about $1650cm^{-1}$ and N-H diagonal vibration occurred at around $1550cm^{-1}$. There was no change in the material, so no effect of temperature was observed. By the results of SEM measurements, as the temperature of degradation increases, cracks in the specimen disappear. This may be because the amide bond (-CO-NH-) is absorbed by the material.
