국내에서 해외 학술 전자저널 이용과 학술지 영향력 지수의 관계를 알아보기 위하여 이 연구에서는 컨소시엄 기반으로 사이트 라이선스 형식으로 유통중인 American Chemical Society, Science, Elsevier, Wiley 등 4개 출판사 전자학술지의 2006년 이용량과 ISI의 JCR 2006에 등재된 영향력지수간의 상관관계를 중심으로 분석하였다. 이용량 분석 대상은 국내에서 상대적으로 이용량이 많으면서 이들 4개 출판사의 전자저널을 모두 라이선싱하고 있는 4개 대학과 5개 연구소를 택하였으며, JCR 영향력지수 부여 여부와 출판사, 주제 및 기관유형별로 학술지 영향력지수와 전자학술지 이용의 상관관계를 분석하였다.

This study compares the buying patterns of American and Korean female college students in relation to their self-concept. It was implemented through self-administered questionnaires which were back translated for validity. Respondents comprised 730 female students majoring in fields related to clothing and textiles: 307 U.S. students were located in the Northeast, West, and Southwest, and 423 Korean students were at four universities in Seoul. Likert scales were used for most measures, with 1 = never or very unimportant, and 5 = always or very important. Personal self-concept was measured on the basis of Won-Shik Jung's Standardized Self-concept the Test and Tennessee Self Concept Scale. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and t-tests. Some clear differences between the two countries emerged. Marketers targeting American consumers should pay more attention to practicality and service, and for Koreans, more symbolic meaning of products and store displays, since these are important to them. Self-concept was somewhat related to purchasing behavior, but more study should be done before applying findings to marketing concepts.

In this paper I have considered the subject related with 'the identity of Korean linguistics.' When I have pondered upon the subject I found that all the researches should not be regarded as a part of Korean linguistics only because they followed the scientific methodology. Moreover, it isn't right to accept any of the studies of Korean linguistics only because they relied on the tenet of western linguistic methodology. Although till 1960's various western linguistic methods were introduced to Korean scholars and applied to account for Korean language, abruptly, since 1970's, most theories have inclined to follow tendency of American linguistic trend. Pupils who want to study modem linguistic theories prefer to study at the universities of America rather than other countries in Europe. However, it is necessary to blow that the history of American linguistics isn't really as long as that of European nations and that the humanities has developed fur a long time since the Greek period. If we attempt to contemplate the procedure of the invention of Korean alphabetic system (Hun-Min-Jung-Um) it will be easy to find the fact that the theoretic approaches used to observe and analyze Korean language in 15th century are as good as the most up-to-date theories which have been introduced recently. Therefore, I tried to show that the historical awareness of linguistic theories deserves special emphasis in order to understand the reality of Korean linguistics correctly.

본 연구는 111개 북미연구도서관협회 멤버 도서관들을 대상으로 RSS, 블로그, 태깅, 팟캐스트, 위키 등 다섯 가지 종류의 웹 2.0 어플리케이션의 수용 정도와 확산 속도를 조사하였고 확산과 관련한 기관 차원의 요인을 파악하였다. 결과적으로 웹 2.0을 수용한 전체 도서관 수와 확산 속도로 미루어 보아 웹 2.0 기술은 계속해서 증가하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 위키를 수용한 도서관들은 수용하지 않은 도서관들에 비하여 대체로 대규모 사이즈의 대학에 속해 있고, 직원 수가 많으며, 전자 자료에 대한 수용도가 높은 것으로 밝혀졌다.

이 연구는 국내 대학에서 정규 교과목으로 시행되고 있는 정보활용능력 관련 교과목의 내용을 분석하여 실제 대학에서 교양 과목으로 사용될 수 있는 정보활용능력의 새로운 교수학습 형을 개발하려는 목적으로 시도되었다. 이를 위하여 미국과 영국, 호주, 뉴질랜드 등의 고등교육을 위한 정보활용능력 기준과 모형을 분석하였으며, 국외 5개 대학의 5 교과목의 교육내용과 국내 23개 대학에서 현재 정보활용능력 관련과목으로 교수되는 33개 교과목의 교육 내용을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 본 연구에서 핵심 요소로 사용되는 정보활용능력의 7개 영역인 정보자원영역, 정보요구영역, 정보접근영역, 정보분석영역, 정보관리영역, 정보전달영역, 정보윤리영역을 추출하여 영역별로 강의할 수 있는 14주 과정에 적합한 교수학습모형을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 정보활용능력 교수학습모형의 내용에는 영역별 교육목표, 교육내용, 교수학습 전략 강의시간. 평가내용, 강의도구 등이 포함되어 있다.

최근 들어, 고등교육기관으로서의 대학은 교육성과와 품질을 보장해야 할 사회적 책무성에 직면해 있다. 대학평가인증제도는 대학교육의 책무성을 담보하기 위한 수단으로써 국제적으로 널리 이용되고 있다. 미국의 대학평가인증기준은 물적, 인적자원 등 투입요소 대신에 문제해결능력, 비판적 분석력, 창의력과 같은 학습성과를 강조하고 있다. 또한, 미국의 대학평가인증기준은 정보활용능력을 주요 학습성과로 간주하고 있다. 본 연구는 도서관 및 정보활용능력의 관점에서 한국과 미국의 대학평가인증기준을 비교 분석하고, 한국의 대학평가인증기준에 정보활용능력에 관한 사항을 어떻게 적용해야 할 것인가 하는 기본 방향을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 한국의 대학평가인증기준은 학습성과를 강화하는 측면에서 정보활용능력을 반영하고, 단순 강의 수준을 벗어나 도서관 사서와 담당교수와의 협력수업을 기준에 반영할 필요가 있다.

QFD (Quality Function Deployment) was defined by the American Supplier Institute in 1987 as a system for translating consumer requirements into appropriate company requirements at every stage, from research, through product design and development, to manufacture, distribution, installation, and marketing, sales and services. Although QFD has complex and tedious procedure to complete, it has now been in use in the world for at least 15 years because QFD enables us to catch a lot of fruitful information on the given system. The objective of this paper is to provide and analyze the trend on the choice of subject courses of university students using QFD. The data are collected by questionnaires. The samples for this study are randomly chosen from the universities in Seoul, Kangnung, and Samchok during 3 months (2000. 3∼2000.5). The results of this study will play an important role not only for service of students but also for opening of courses.

South Korea is in the limelight in the past decades as Korean universities races for internationalization. As the number of students studying abroad tremendously increasing, there has been a growing need for higher education institutions to understand international working students' life satisfaction and sense of belonging. The aim of this research is to outline which determinants affects life satisfaction as mediated by sense of belonging. With the samples size of 102 respondents, the proposed research model was examined using structural equation modeling (SEM) and SPSS. Results show that all determinants (Recognition, Quality of Education, Experienced Difficulties in Public Service and Understanding Korean Language) were positively significant toward Sense of Belonging. Likewise sense of belonging holds the positive indirect significant effects of the four determinants to life satisfaction.

This paper presents an overview of six strategic entry points for sustainability in the context of the construction/engineering curriculum. It compares the pedagogical costs and benefits of each approach and shares lessons learned from experiences at two leading public American universities: Georgia Institute of Technology and Virginia Polytechnic Institute. The paper discusses opportunities in terms of two perspectives on the pedagogy of sustainability: Stealthy Sustainability and Flagrant Sustainability, as part of a strategy of diffusion and routinization of this innovation within existing curricula. The paper concludes with a discussion of considerations that should be taken into account when evaluating the potential for sustainability in new educational contexts.
