Effects of Turbine Inlet Temperature on Performance of Regenerative Gas Turbine System with Afterfogging

  • Afterfogging of the regenerative gas turbine system has an advantage over inlet fogging in that the high outlet temperature of air compressor makes the injection of more water and the recuperation of more exhaust heat possible. This study investigates the effects of turbine inlet temperature (TIT) on the performance of regenerative gas turbine system with afterfogging through a thermodynamic analysis model. For the standard ambient conditions and the water injection ratios up to 5%, the variation of system performance including the thermal efficiency is numerically analyzed with respect to the variations of TIT and pressure ratio. It is also analyzed how the maximum thermal efficiency, net specific work, and pressure ratio itself change with TIT at the peak points of thermal efficiency curve. All of these are found to increase almost linearly with the increases of both TIT and water injection ratio.

음향집어기의 집어 효과 (Effects an Acoustical Equipment on the Luring of Fish School)

  • 음향집어에 관한 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 정치망내의 수중환경소음과 방성음의 분포 및 집어효과를 실험, 분석하였고, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 수중환경 소음 및 방성음의 중심주파수대는 각각 150Hz~400Hz, 400Hz~1000Hz이고, 음압준위는 원통, 헛통, 장등, 비탈그물의 순으로 , 비탈그물, 원통, 헛통, 장등의 순으로 각각 높았다. 양망작업중의 수중소음은 양망개시후 시간의 경과에 따라 음압준위가 높아지나 양망의 마무리 단계에서는 오히려 낮아졌다. 2. 본 실험에서 제작한 방성장치로서 정치망어포부내에 방성한 결과, 초기에는 어군이 방성기주변으로 모여드는 반응을 나타내었으나, 약 30분이 경과하면서 이러한 반응은 약화되었다. 그리고 방성시간과 휴지시간의 간격보다는 방성음압에 군락이 더 민감하였다. 3. 일본에서 제작된 음향집어기(Dainy 0-8)로 해상에서 방성시험을 하여 본 결과, 대체로 방성개시후 약 20분에 어군이 모여들고 방성을 멈추면 곧 흩어졌다. 유집된 어군은 선박교통소음의 환경을 많이 받는 것으로 나타났다. 정치망입구 근처의 장등에 음향집어기를 설치하여 방성하였을 경우와 방성하지 않았을 경우에 대한 어획량이 방성하지 않았을 때에 비하여 약 3~5배 많은 것으로 나타났다.

  • Pulsed supersonic liquid jets injected into an ambient air are empirically studied by using a high pressure ballistic range system. Ballistic range systems which are configured with high-pressure tube, pump tube, launch tube and liquid storage nozzle. Experimental studies are conducted to use with various impact nozzle geometry. Supersonic liquid jets are generated by an impact of high speed of the projectile. High speed liquid jets are injected with M = 3.2 which pressure is 1.19 GPa. Multiple jets which accompany with shock wave and pressure wave in front of the jet were observed. The shock-wave affects significantly atomization process for each spray droplets. As decreasing orifice diameter, the averaged SMD of spray jets had the decreasing tendency.

  • 본 연구에서 개발한 고압증발 모델을 이용하여 고압 연소장에서의 액체연료추진제의 증발 과정을 수치적으로 해석하였다. 고압상태에서 액적의 증발 특성에 중요한 영향을 미치는 실제 기체의 거동, 온도 및 압력에 따른 가변물성치의 영향, 주위기체의 용해현상을 고려하였고 일반적인 상평형 관계식을 이용하였다. 실험치와 비교하여 고압증발모델의 예측능력을 체계적으로 검증하였고 로켓엔진의 고온 고압 연소실조건에서 LOX 액적의 증발 특성을 상세하게 논의하였다.

  • Growing interest in $CO_2$ capturing from industrial processes and storage in underground formations is emerging from commitments in reducing $CO_2$ emissions manifested in the Kyoto Protocol. In this paper, $CO_2$ liquefaction system is treated in focus of liquefaction efficiency & production rate. Presently $CO_2$ is transported in ships or trucks at a pressure of 14-20 bar. Considering this, the liquefaction pressures of 20, 15, 6.5 bar are selected. Compressor work and cooling capacity are calculated and compared. In order to investigate the effect of intercooling, the compressed gas after compressor work is cooled by ambient air or seawater. In case of applying the intercooling to the system, consuming energy can be saved larger than 20%. In the lower liquefaction pressure, the more $CO_2$ can be obtained due to higher density. In the liquefaction pressure of 6.5 bar, its $CO_2$ production is about 35% higher than that of the system with the liquefaction pressure, 20 bar.

가솔린 인젝터의 연료 분무 미립화 특성에 미치는 분사 압력의 영향 (Effect of Injection Pressure on Atomization Characteristics of Fuel Spray in High-Pressure Gasoline Injector)

  • This paper describes the macroscopic behavior and atomization characteristics of the high-pressure gasoline injector in direct-injection gasoline engine. The global spray behavior of fuel injector was visualized by shadowgraph technique. The atomization characteristics of gasoline spray such as mean diameter and mean velocity of droplet were measured by the phase Doppler particle analyzer system. In order to obtain the influence of fuel injection pressure, the macroscopic visualization and experiment of particle measurement on the fuel spray were investigated at 3,5 and 7 MPa of injection pressure under different surrounding pressure in the spray chamber. The results of this work show that the fuel injection pressure of gasoline injector in GDl engine has influence upon the mean droplet diameter, mean velocity of spray droplet, the spray tip penetration, and spray width under the elevated ambient pressure.

  • This work investigates the vibrational characteristics of the underground gas pipelines. Experiments were conducted to analyze the effects of various parameters on the vibrational characteristics from the emergency detection point of view. Influences of the various types of impact exerted on the pipe, height of free fall and measuring locations were analyzed. Especially, the difference between the vibrational signal generated by the direct impact on the pipe and the ambient noise was successfully identified. To validate the experimental observation, computer simulation was also performed with constant properties(elasticity, fluid velocity and internal pressure) which are directly conjectured from the accompanying experiment with a real pipe system.

  • The performance of slider of a hard disk drive affects the durability of the system. Particularly, the flying ability of the slider is critical in terms of surface damage and head crash. In this work, the take-off characteristics of the slider for various types of laser zone textured bump geometries were investigated. Also, the effect of ambient pressure on the flying characteristics of the slider was experimentally observed. An index of air density which can be used as a parameter for evaluating the flying characteristic is introduced.

디젤기관에서 바이오디젤 혼합유의 연소특성에 미치는 연료분사시기의 영향 (Effects of Fuel Injection Timing on Combustion Characteristics of Biodiesel Blend Oil in Diesel Engine)

  • Recently we have a growing interest in environmental pollution and alternative energy. Diesel engine is generally used to produce the power on the ground and the sea. However, the combustion characteristics are changed on account of the wear of fuel system and the altered ambient condition of the combustion chamber by the increment of the engine operation hour. Therefore combustion characteristics on fuel injection timing are experimentally investigated to find out the optimum fuel injection timing in the case of the aged diesel engine using biodiesel blend oil. Cylinder pressure, rate of pressure rise, rate of heat release and combustion gas temperature are risen by the advancing fuel injection timing, while the exhaust gas temperature and soot emission level are decreased by the advancing of fuel injection timing. The least specific fuel oil consumption is indicated at BTDC $26^{\circ}$ CA on the 75%load and at 1800rpm.

  • Large glass furnaces to produce glass for CRT are housed in huge chambers. It is costly to maintain such a chamber in constant temperature, humidity, and(air) pressure. In this study, first, we show that the process of such a huge furnace, which requires the steady maintenance of high temperature, is badly affected by the ambient temperature of surrounding air. Second, an alternative process which not only maintains the relatively constant temperature dispersion around the furnace, but is also economical will be proposed. We calculate the necessary volume of air inflow in the appendix.
