  • 1-Butyl-4-aza-1-azoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane dichromate (BAABOD) 3 is a useful reagent for the selective cleavage of trimethylsilyl ethers and tetrahydropyranyl ethers to their corresponding aldehydes and ketones in the presence of $AlCl_3$ under solvent-free conditions. This method is very simple and efficient and the reaction has been carried out under solvent-free conditions in the presence of a catalytically amount of aluminum chloride.

  • Constant-load-amplitude fatigue crack growth tests were carried out on 5083-0 aluminum alloy under elastic and elastic-plastic conditions. Crack length, crack closure and monotonic fatigue deformation were measured by Kikukawa's unloading elastic compliance monitoring technique and elastic-plastic fatigue crack growth rates were analysed in terms of J integral. Elastic-plastic fatigue crack growth rates can be well expressed by effective cyclic J integral until general yielding occurs. Beyond general yielding, monotonic fatigue deformation becomes significant and growth rates cannot be characterized by a single parameter of effective cyclic J integral alone. However, introducing one more parameter, maximum J integral J$_{max}$ to account for the effect of monotonic fatigue deformation, can explain fatigue crack growth behavior beyond general yielding.

  • In order to improve automotive fuel economy, vehicle weight should be reduced. Achieving significant weight reductions will normally require reducing the panel thickness or using alternative materials such as aluminum alloy sheet. These changes will affect the dent resistance of the panel. In this study, the correlation between panel size, curvature, thickness, material properties and dent resistance is investigated. A parametric approach is adopted, utilizing a "design software" tool incorporating empirical equations to predict denting and panel stiffness for simplified panels. The most effective period to optimize an automotive body panel is early in its development. The developed design program can be used to minimize panel thickness or compare different materials, while maintaining adequate panel performance.

  • LED lighting is sensitive because it made by semiconductor. So it has been researched about radiation of heat technologies for a long time. In addition, measurement and assessment a radiation of heat also conducted. It is necessary to get a date of accuracy temperature on the board after LED driven for measuring Junction temperature of the LED Lighting. For this research, we use 5 chip which is 4 W power on top of LED lighting board made by aluminum. Thermal camera effects to emissivity depending on material and property of the surface in LED board because it determines thermal energy which emitted from material surface. it is not only thermal camera has not a standard about emissivity. It has an error of temperature when emissivity was measured by thermal camera. we confirmed that emissivity and reflected temperature depending on color and quality of the surface throughout experiment.

  • Aluminum-doped ZnO (AZO) thin films were deposited by atomic layer deposition (ALD) with respect to the Al doping concentrations. In order to explain the chemical stability and electrical properties of the AZO thin films after hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$) solution immersion treatment at room temperature, we investigated correlations between the electrical resistivity and the electronic structure, such as chemical bonding state, conduction band, band edge state below conduction band, and band alignment. Al-doped at ~ 10 at % showed not only a dramatic improvement of the electrical resistivity but also excellent chemical stability, both of which are strongly associated with changes of chemical bonding states and band edge states below the conduction band.

  • We report microcavity effect of top emission organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) by using Al cathode and anode, which are feasible for not only top emission EL and angle dependant effects but facile evaporation process without ion sputtering. The device in case of $Alq_3$ green emission showed largely shifted EL maximum wavelength as 650 nm maximum emission. It was also observed that detection angle causes different EL maximum wavelength and different CIE values in R, G, B color emission. As a result, the green device using $Alq_3$ emission showed 650 nm emission ($0^{\circ}$) to 576 nm emission ($90^{\circ}$) as detection angle changed. We believe that these phenomena can be also explained with microcavity effect which depends on the different length of light path caused by detection angle.

  • This research is concerned with the experimental investigation on the vibrations of a flexible two-link system for verifying the theoretical result from simplified equations of motion for the system along with the kinematical synthesis are proposed to simulate the elastic vibrations of a previous study. The structure consists of flexible two-links; The link 2 is attached to the end of the link 1. The link 1 is made of composite fiber reinforced polymer and the link 2 is an aluminum beam. In order to verify the theoretical result, a flexible two-link system operated by the AC and RC servo motors was constructed. Experimental results show that the dynamic modeling approach and the kinematical synthesis proposed in this paper are effective.

  • It was observed that the single grain of crystallite growth behavior in AlN (Aluminum Nitride) single crystal growth by PVT (Physical Vapor Transport) method. The single grain of AlN was grown in sequent experiments and adjacent crystallites were joined together after small grain was grown. The sequential results of those grains observed by stereoscopic microscope were reported.

  • Experimental procedure to measure fracture toughness (J$_{c}$) under mixed mode loading using CTS(Compact Tension-Shear) specimens is described. It\`s loading angle ranges from 0$^{\circ}$ to 45$^{\circ}$ with interval of 157. The general outline of experimental procedure is similar to that of ASTM E8l3-89 fur mode I fracture. Equations fur determining J-integral is quoted from the authors' previous works. The relation between unloading compliance and physical crack size was calibrated. As an example, fracture toughness of aluminum alloy 2024p-7361 was measured and some reasonable results of J$_{c}$ with various loading angles were obtained.
