Bending performances of aluminum square tube beams reinforced by aluminum plates under three point bending loads have been evaluated using experimental tests combined with theoretical and finite element analyses. A finite element simulation for the three-point bending test was performed. Basic properties of aluminum materials used for initial input data of the finite element simulation were obtained from the true stress-true strain curves of specimens which had been extracted from the Al tube beams. True stresses were determined from applied loads and cross-sectional area records of a tensile specimen with a rectangular cross-section by real-time photographing, and true strains were obtained from in-situ local elongation measurements of the specimen gage portion by the multi-point scanning laser extensometer. Six kinds of aluminum tube beam specimens adhered by aluminum plates were employed fur the bending test. The bending deformation behaviors up to the maximum load described by the numerical simulation were in good agreement with experimental ones. After passing the maximum load, reinforcing plate was debonded from the aluminum tube beam. An aluminum tube beam strengthened by aluminum plate on the upper web showed an excellent bending capability.
Local buckling behaviors of aluminum square tube beams reinforced by aluminum plates under three point bending loads have been analyzed using experimental tests combined with theoretical and finite element analyses. The bending deformation behaviors up to the maximum load analyzed by the numerical simulation agreed well with experimental ones. After passing the maximum load, reinforcing plate hindering the local buckling of the tube beam was debonded from the aluminum tube beam. An aluminum tube beam strengthened by aluminum plate on the upper web showed the most excellent bending capacity, which could be explained on the basis of the neutral axis shift and the local buckling deformation range.

Ignition delay of micro/nano aluminum particles is caused by aluminum oxide shell. The method of minimizing this ignition delay is proposed in the study. Generating and heating of particles are processed at the same time. As soon as heated particles are produced, they immediately contact with oxygen. Chemical reaction is induced on the contact surface instead of crystallization of oxide shell. Finally particles are ignited. Aluminum particles are generated by laser ablation on an aluminum plate using Nd:YAG pulse laser. Injected particles are confirmed through visualization of particles using scattering method. $CO_2$ continuous laser supplies heat to aluminum plate and generated particles. Trace of burning particles is observed in the experiment.

In this paper, the possibility of using an MDF (Mild-detonating Fuse) as a linear separation device is studied. An MDF is a small diameter metal (lead) tube filled with explosives (RDX). Aluminum plate cutting experiments are carried out with different values of target plate thickness and explosives per unit length. Based on the experimental results, a numerical analysis method including the failure criteria is established. The mechanism and characteristics of using MDFs for aluminum plate cutting are identified; the possibility of using the current system as a linear separation device is verified. By utilizing a developed numerical method, the separation reliability for diverse structures and MDFs can be predicted in advance and the number of experiments required for development can be minimized.

A honeycomb panel is a plate made by attaching two surface plateson eitherside of a honeycomb core. The honeycomb plate hasexcellent specific strength and energy absorption and is suitable for use in regions where good impact resistance is required. Recently, with the increasing the need for a lightweight design to facilitate transportation, numerous studies have been conducted using aluminum honeycomb plates as body materials for vehicles such as automobiles and high-speed trains. In addition, honeycomb plates have excellent sound deadening properties, as well as excellent heat insulation and durability. Savings in weight using lightweight materials such as aluminum alloy for honeycomb panel's skin can lead to increase fuel economy and reduction in air pollution. In this study, in order to improve the design technology of the honeycomb plate material, the manufacturing technology of the aluminum honeycomb core and honeycomb plate material and various mechanical properties of the honeycomb plate were evaluated. From the results, it was found that the design of the manufacturing process of the aluminum honeycomb plate, as well as itsproduction and characteristics, were improved. The resulting excellent energy absorption capability of the honeycomb plate was due to the repetitive core buckling, indicating that the higher the compressive strength, the higher the strength per bonded area.

The objective of this study is to investigate the thermal conductivity of cement mortar for apartment housing floor using expansive admixture, copper fiber, cower lathe, hollowed aluminum plate. According to test results, temperature at point (a) located above heating pipe does not show significant variation with age, and temperature at (b), which is located at the finishing surface above heating pipe, and temperature at (c), which is located at center surface between heating pipe has remarkable change. Temperature distribution sat (b) are in order for, structure containing copper fiber>plain structure>structure containing hollowed aluminum plate>structure containing expansive admixture. Temperature distribution, shows high tendency in order for, structure containing copper fiber>structure containing copper lathe>structure containing hollowed aluminum plate>plain structure>structure containing expansive admixture. (a) estimation of temperature distribution is determined with the variation of temperature between (b) point and (c) point during 60 minutes heating.

Because the structural elements used in the automobile, astronautic and ship industries are put in dynamic loading environments, much interest is given to the damping of the structural elements, as well as high flexural rigidity and strength per density. Therefore, in this study, the structural damping value of the aluminum honeycomb sandwich plate(AHCP) has been experimentally extracted, and directly applied to the finite element, for the dynamic analysis of the plate considering the structural damping. The analysis results of this theory was compared with the results of the actual modal analysis method. It was observable that the two analyses concurred, establishing the structural damping and analysis method of the AHSP.
In this paper, an improved theoretical interfacial stress analysis is presented for simply supported composite aluminum- sandwich honeycomb beam strengthened by imperfect FGM plateusing linear elastic theory. The adherend shear deformations have been included in the present theoretical analyses by assuming a linear shear stress through the thickness of the adherends, while all existing solutions neglect this effect. Remarkable effect of shear deformations of adherends has been noted in the results. It is shown that both the sliding and the shear stress at the interface are influenced by the material and geometry parameters of the composite beam. This new solution is intended for applicationto composite beams made of all kinds of materials bonded with a thin plate. Finally, numerical comparisons between the existing solutions and the present new solution enable a clear appreciation of the effects of various parameters.
This paper presents the development of a controller that can control the temperature of an heating system based on a thermoelectric module. Temperature controller using Peltier has various external factors such as external temperature, characteristics of an aluminum plate, installation location of temperature sensors, and combination method between the aluminum plate and heating element. Therefore, it is difficult to apply the simulation and simulation results of heating system using Peltier at control algorithm. In general, almost temperature controller is using PID algorithm that finds control gain value heuristically. In this paper, it is proposed mathematical model that explain correlate between the temperature of the heating system and input voltage. And then, optimal parameter of estimated thermal model of the aluminum plate are searched by using genetic algorithm. In addition, based on this estimated model, the optimal PID control gain are inferred using a genetic algorithm. All of the sequence are simulated and verified with proposed real system.
