This paper presents a maximum velocity trajectory planning algorithm for differential mobile robots with wheel velocity constraint to cope with physical limits in the joint space for two-wheeled mobile robots (TMR). In previous research, the convolution operator was able to generate a central velocity that deals with the physical constraints of a mobile robot while considering the heading angles along a smooth curve in terms of time-dependent parameter. However, the velocity could not track the predefined path. An algorithm is proposed to compensate an error that occurs between the actual and driven distance by the velocity of the center of a TMR within a sampling time. The velocity commands in Cartesian space are also converted to actuator commands to drive two wheels. In the case that the actuator commands exceed the maximum velocity the trajectory is redeveloped with the compensated center velocity. The new center velocity is obtained according to the curvature of the path to provide a maximum allowable velocity meaning a time-optimal trajectory. The effectiveness of the algorithm is shown through numerical examples.
The aim of the study is to investigate the method to estimate a storage life of propelling charge on the decrease of muzzle velocity by stochastic gamma process model. It is required to establish criterion for state failure to estimate the storage life and it is defined in this paper as a muzzle velocity difference between reference value and maximum allowable standard deviation multiplied by 6. The relationship between storage time and muzzle velocity is investigated by nonlinear regression analysis. The stochastic gamma process model is used to estimated the state distribution and the life distribution for storage time for 155mm propelling charge KM4A2 because the regression analysis is a deterministic method and it can't describe the distribution of life for storage time.
An energy-efficient reference walking trajectory generation algorithm is suggested utilizing allowable ZMP (Zero-Moment-Point) region, which maxmizes the energy efficiency for cyclic gaits, based on three-dimensional LIPM (Linear Inverted Pendulum Model) for biped robots. As observed in natural human walking, variable ZMP manipulation is suggested, in which ZMP moves within the allowable region to reduce the joint stress (i.e., rapid acceleration and deceleration of body), and hence to reduce the consumed energy. In addition, opimization of footstep planning is conducted to decide the optimal step-length and body height for a given forward mean velocity to minimize a suitable energy performance - amount of energy required to carry a unit weight a unit distance. In this planning, in order to ensure physically realizable walking trajectory, we also considered geometrical constraints, ZMP stability condition, friction constraint, and yawing moment constraint. Simulations are performed with a 12-DOF 3D biped robot model to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Moving a fragile object from an initial point to a goal location in minimum time without damage is pursued in this paper. In order to achieve the goal, first of all, the range of maximum acceleration and velocity are specified, which the manipulator can generate dynamically on the path that is planned a priori considering the geometrical constraints. Later, considering the impulsive force constraint of the object, the range of maximum acceleration and velocity are going to be obtained to keep the object safe while the manipulator is carrying it along the curved path. Finally, a time-optimal trajectory is planned within the maximum allowable range of the acceleration and velocity. This time optimal trajectory planning can be applied for real applications and is suitable for not only a continuous path but also a discrete path.

In this paper, moving a fragile object from an initial point to a specific location in the minimum time without damage is studied. In order to achieve this goal, initially, the maximum acceleration and velocity ranges are specified. These ranges can be dynamically generate on the planned path by the manipulator. The path can be altered by considering the geometrical constraints. Later, considering the impulsive force constraint on the object, the range of maximum acceleration and velocity are obtained to preserve object safety while the manipulator is carrying it along the curved path. Finally, a time-optimal trajectory is planned within the maximum allowable range of acceleration and velocity. This time-optimal trajectory planning can be applied to real applications and is suitable for both continuous and discrete paths.
In this paper, a three-dimensional numerical study on flow pattern in winter along connecting passageway of a composite building was conducted using a commercial CFD package. The incompressible Navier-Stokes equation coupled was solved by using SIMPLE algorithm in order to find steady solutions. It was shown that a upward flow is generated inside the building in winter due to buoyancy effect and that the air inside connecting passageway flows from the shorter building to the taller one regardless of the slope of the passageway. Further, it was found that the magnitude of air velocity inside connecting passageway increases as the uphill slope to the taller building increases and decreases as the downhill slope to the taller one increases, although the variation in the magnitude of fluid velocity is not substantial. Lastly, it was shown that the maximum air velocity inside connecting passageway is less than the allowable limit for all the cases considered in this study.
