경기도 태화산 V 영급 잣나무(Pinus koraiensis) 조림지의 지상부 바이오매스 상대생장식 개발 (Development of Allometric Equations for V Age-class Pinus koraiensis in Mt. Taehwa Plantation, Gyeonggi-do)

  • 임분 밀도가 410tree $ha^{-1}$이며 평균 흉고직경이 $29.1{\pm}5.2cm$인 경기도 태화산의 V영급 잣나무 조림지에서 흉고직경을 독립변수로 하고 부위별 바이오매스를 종속변수로 하는 상대생장식을 만들었다. 잣나무 넓적 잎벌 피해로 인해 잎의 바이오매스가 낮게 나타났으나, 총 바이오매스에 미치는 영향은 미미하였다. 그간의 연구를 종합한 결과, 개체목 지상부 상대생장식(logY=a+blogX)의 모수 a는 평균 흉고직경과 임분밀도에 가장 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났으나 b는 영향을 미치는 인자를 찾을 수 없었다. 임분 단위에서는 부위별로 잎은 6.68Mg $ha^{-1}$, 가지는 18.82Mg $ha^{-1}$, 줄기는 101.02Mg $ha^{-1}$로 나타났으며 이를 합한 지상부 총 바이오매스는 126.53Mg $ha^{-1}$로 나타났다. 국내 잣나무 임분의 지상부 바이오매스는 임령보다는 평균 흉고직경과 임분 밀도에 더 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났으며 두 인자를 사용하여 국내 잣나무 임분 바이오매스를 98% 이상 설명하는 간단한 회귀식을 도출할 수 있었다.

  • 이 연구는 환경영향평가 개발사업 시 발생하는 훼손수목 탄소저장량의 적합한 산정방법에 대해 논의하고자 수행되었다. 이를 위해, 훼손수목이 발생하는 재생에너지 관련 개발사업 9개를 선정하여 훼손수목 탄소저장량의 평가현황 및 방법을 정리하였다. 그리고 상대생장식을 활용하여 훼손수목 탄소저장량을 재산정 한 후 보고서의 훼손수목 탄소저장량과 비교하여 두 집단 간 차이를 검증하였다. 그 결과 개발사업의 보고서의 훼손수목 탄소저장량은 재산정 탄소저장량 보다 큰 것으로 나타났고 통계적으로 유의성이 있었다(p<0.005). 이는 기존의 훼손수목 탄소저장량 산정이 과다 산정되고 있음을 나타내며 산정 방법의 개선이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 훼손수목의 탄소저장량 산정 시 우리나라 산림의 우점 수종에 적합한 상대생 장식을 사용해야 한다. 더 나아가, 사용자들이 효율적이고 정확하게 훼손수목 탄소저장량을 산정할 수 있도록 생태계의 실측 데이터에 기반한 탄소저장량 산정 시스템을 구축하여 사용할 것을 제안한다.

Estimation of Carbon Storage Using Mean Biomass Density in Korean Forests

  • This study examined the biomass data estimated from different allometric models and calculated the mean aboveground biomass, mean belowground biomass and root/shoot ratio values according to the forest types and age classes. These mean values and the forest inventories in 2009 were used to estimate the aboveground and total biomass carbon storage in different forest types (coniferous, deciduous and mixed forests). The aboveground and total biomass carbon storage for all forest types in Korea were 350.201 Tg C and 436.724 Tg C. Over the past 36 years, plantations by reforestation programs have accounted for more than 70% of the observed carbon storage. The carbon storage in Korean forest biomass was 436.724 Tg C, of which 175.154 Tg C for coniferous forests, 126.772 Tg C for deciduous forests and 134.518 Tg C for mixed forests, comprising approximately 1/20 of the total carbon storage of the East Asian countries. The total carbon storage for the whole forest sector in Korea was 1213.122 Tg C, of which 436.724 Tg C is stored in forest biomass if using the ratio of carbon storage in different pools examined from the United States. Such large carbon storage in Korean forests is due mainly to active plantations growth and management practices.

Richness of Forest Stands and Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide Storage in Urban Institutional Lands of Bukavu, D.R. Congo

  • Improving the urban environmental quality relies mainly on the increasing of urban forests capacity to store carbon dioxide. This study assesses the floristic diversity of urban institutional lands in Bukavu and their potential to reduce atmospheric $CO_2$. An exhaustive inventory over three sites ($Coll{\grave{e}}ge$ Alfajiri, $Cath{\acute{e}}drale$ Notre-Dame de la Paix and Institut $Sup{\acute{e}}rieur$ $P{\acute{e}}dagogique$) of Bukavu led to the identification of 1,113 trees of which the diameter at breast height (1.30 m) ranged from 4.9 to 161 cm. Results reveal a floristic diversity made up of 4 families of conifers with 4 species and 14 of broadleaves with 21 species. Average densities were of $54trees\;ha^{-1}$ and $5.21m^2\;ha^{-1}$ of basal area. Urban-based allometric equations used yielded up to 312.8 tons of carbon stored in trees aboveground biomass equivalent to 1,147.9 tons of $CO_2$ reduced from the atmosphere over the three sites. The rate of carbon storage reaches $15.1tons\;ha^{-1}$. Thus, trees of the three institutional sites in Bukavu play an important role in reducing atmospheric $CO_2$ and contribute, thereby, to mitigate global climate change effects. Given the current environmental challenge associated with high population growth rate in cities, the urban forest ecosystem in DRC requires to be extended and further investigation.

X-선장치에서 출력선량 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Measurement of Output Dose in X-ray Unit)

  • X-선영상의 품질과 환자의 피폭 관리를 위하여 X-선장치에서 출력되는 선량(공기 흡수선량(mGy)은 측정으로부터 자료화 하는 것이 필요하다. 이 연구의 목적은 X-선장치의 출력선량과 출력인자(Of)의 측정으로부터 출력선량을 계산할 수 있는 식을 구하는데 있다. X-선장치로부터 조사되는 X-빔의 출력선량과 출력인자는 XR멀티검출기를 사용하여 측정하였다. 결과로서, 관전류-조사시간 곱(mAs)으로 나누어진 측정된 출력선량과 설정관전압을 Allometric1 fit하여 출력선량 계산식을 얻었다. 이 식에 출력인자를 곱하여 최종 출력선량 계산식을 구하였다. 구하여진 최종 출력선량 계산식은 모든 관전압, 관전류, 조사시간, 조사야 그리고 거리에 적용하는데 유용할 것으로 사료된다.

Comparison of Growth and Allometric Change of Stand and Dominant Trees in Pinus koraiensis Plantation over 34 Years

  • This study was conducted to find out the growth pattern of Pinus koraiensis plantation over 34 years, focusing on DBH, height, basal area and allometric change. Total increment (TI), mean annual increment (MAI) and correlation coefficient were calculated and compared with stand and dominants. Total increment and mean annual increment of both DBH and height of dominants were bigger than those of stand. The difference was apparently shown bigger in DBH than height. Unlike DBH and height the total increment and mean annual increment of basal area per hectare of dominants were distinctively smaller than those of stand. Furthermore MAI of dominant was increasing until age 42, while MAI of stand increased at early ages and then gradually decreased after culmination like MAIs of DBH and height. MAIs of basal area of dead trees at each measurement tended to increase until early age (18 years in this study), while it reached a peak and gradually decrease after that (21 years in this study). Correlation coefficient between DBH and height tended to decrease as both dominant and stand age and the difference between dominant and stand was not clearly shown over the measurement period. Correlation coefficients between DBH and crown width tended to decrease as the trees age and correlation coefficients of dominant were clearly shown smaller than that of stand. Correlation coefficients of height and crown width also was found to be similar to correlation coefficients between DBH and crown. Meanwhile correlation coefficient of height and crown width dropped more radically than coefficient of DBH and crown width as the trees age.

Allometric Relations of Take-off Speed and Power with Body Mass of Anuran Amphibians

  • Previous studies have postulated that isometric animals exert similar locomotory capacity (speed, distance) because the amount of energy available for the motion would be the same regardless of body mass (m). To test propriety of this theory, we examined body shape and take-off potential of two frog species, Rana nigromaculata (powerful jumpers) and Bombina orientalis (slow hoppers). Morphological measurements included thigh muscle mass (indicative of total muscle force), hindlimb length (L, determining acceleration distance), and interilial width (shaping take-off motion). To gauge locomotory capacity, take-off speed (v) and take-off angle ($\theta$) were measured from video analyses, and jump distance (R) and take-off Power ($P_{t}$ ) were calculated from equations $R=V^{2}sin2\theta/g$ and ($P_{t}$$㎷^{3}/2L$(where g is the gravitational constant). Scaling exponents of morphometric variables for both species were 0.96-1.11 for thigh muscle mass, 0.28-0.29 for hindlimb length, and 0.30-0.36 for interilial width. Scaling exponents of locomotory performance for the two species were -0.01-0.14 for take-off speed, 0.24-0.31 for jump distance, and 0.66-0.84 for take-off power. The results demonstrate that the frogs of this study showed isometric body shape within species, but that take-off response changed allometrically with body mass, indicating that these data did not fully support the previous proposition. An exception was found in take-off speed of B. orientalis, in which the speed changed little with body mass (slope=-0.01). These findings suggest that the energy availability approach did not properly explain the apparent allometric relations of the take-off response in these animals and that an alternative model such as a power production approach may be worth addressing.

Budget and distribution of organic carbon in Taxus cuspidata forest in subalpine zone of Mt. Halla

  • Background: In order to investigate organic carbon distribution, carbon budget, and cycling of the subalpine forest, we studied biomass, organic carbon distribution, litter production, forest floor litter, accumulated soil organic carbon, and soil respiration in Taxus cuspidata forest in Halla National Park from February 2012 to November 2013. Biomass was calculated by using allometric equation and the value was converted to $CO_2$ stocks. Results: The amount of plant organic carbon was $13.60ton\;C\;ha^{-1}year^{-1}$ in 2012 and $14.29ton\;C\;ha^{-1}year^{-1}$ in 2013. And average organic carbon introduced to forest floor through litter production was $0.71ton\;C\;ha^{-1}year^{-1}$. Organic carbon distributed in forest floor litter layer was $0.73ton\;C\;ha^{-1}year^{-1}$ on average and accumulated organic carbon in soil was $51.13ton\;C\;ha^{-1}year^{-1}$ on average. In 2012, Amount of released $CO_2$ from soil to atmosphere was 10.93 ton $CO_2ha^{-1}year^{-1}$. Conclusions: The net ecosystem production based on the difference between net primary production of organic carbon and soil respiration was $-1.74ton\;C\;ha^{-1}year^{-1}$ releasing more carbon than it absorbed.

선버들의 생산성과 생산구조 (Productivity and Production Structure of Salix nipponica)

  • 경상남도 합천군 박실늪에서 선버들 자연림의 지상부 현존량과 연순생산력을 상대생장법으로 조사하였다. 선버들의 ha당 개체 밀도는 6,140본이고, 분지된 줄기는 14,950개로서 한 개체당 분지된 줄기는 평균 2.43개였다. 지상부 각 부위별 현존량의 비율은 줄기 59.2%, 가지 28.3%, 잎 12.5%였다. 각 부위의 건중량과 $D^2H$에서 상대생장식을 유도하여 추정한 선버들의 ha당 현존량은 109.7ton이었고 조사지역 전체에서 지상부 총현존량은 926.7ton이었다. 현존량과 연령구조로부터 추정한 선버들의 ha당 연순생산량은 25.3ton이었다.

  • 본 연구는 동해 중부 연안에 출현하는 명태(Gadus chalcogrammus)의 산란기, 체장-체중 관계(weight-length relationships, WLRs), 비만도(condition factor)를 조사하였다. 생식소숙도지수(gonadosomatic index, GSI))의 월변화를 통하여 추정한 명태의 산란기는 12월에서 3월이었다. 전반적인 체장-체중 관계식의 지수값 b는 2.806이었고, 2.778 (암컷)에서 2.980 (미성숙 그룹)의 범위를 나타냈다. b값은 암수 사이에서 유사하였으나, 미성숙 그룹과 비산란기 동안 성숙 그룹 또는 산란기 보다 유의하게 높은 값을 나타냈다. 비만도는 미성숙 그룹에서 성숙 그룹보다 유의하게 높았으나, 산란기와 비산란기, 암컷과 수컷 사이에서는 유의한 차이가 없었다.
