국내 청각장애인의 의약품 안전사용 실태에 대한 심층면접조사 (Qualitative Study for Medication Use among the Hearing Impaired in Korea)

  • Objective: Because of communication difficulties, the hearing-impaired face many disadvantages throughout their lives. One of those is limited access to health care services, particularly medication service. Though they suffer from problems related to taking medication properly, there have been few studies on their actual condition of medication use in Korea. This study is to investigate any obstacles to properly taking medications and, therefore, to suggest preliminary evidence for policy measures to improve safe medication use among the hearing-impaired. Methods: Study participants consisted of hearing-impaired individuals living in Seoul. We also interviewed two sign language interpreters in order to illuminate health care state of the hearing-impaired. In-depth interview for each study participant was recorded and was translated into a written script for analysis. Results: Study participants were comprised of four women (66.6%) and two men (33.3%). There were one participants in 20's, two participants in 30's, one 40's, and two 50's. Sign language interpreters were all women. One was in her 30's and the other was in her 40's. Communication difficulties have been found to be key barrier to use medication safely. A negative image of pharmacists also hinders safe medication usage, lowering access to local pharmacy and leading discretional self-medication. This article provides pharmacists with solutions to promote adherence in this population. Conclusion: The hearing-impaired had limited access to medication-related information as well as using services in a hospital and local pharmacy due to their disability. Institutional improvement for safe medication usage among the hearing-impaired is necessary.

  • 정보환경의 발전과 정보요구의 변화에 따라 효율적인 정보서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 정보서비스 체계나 시스템 환경을 이용자의 정보요구에 맞게 재정비하고, 나아갈 방향에 대해서 새롭게 정의할 필요성이 있다. 본 고에서는 효율적인 정보서비스를 위한 인포메이션 디자인(Information Design) 개념의 도입과 실제, 특히 정보서비스에 필요한 인포메이션 디자인의 소개와 메뉴 구성 방법을 중심으로 인포메이션 디자인에 대해 설명하고 있다.

기업 간 클라우드 컴퓨팅 동화 및 성과에 영향을 미치는 기술 및 환경 요인과 신뢰의 조절효과에 관한 연구 (An Empirical Study on Factors Affecting the Assimilation of Inter-Organizational Cloud Computing and Performance and the Moderating Effect of Trust)

  • This study investigates the effect of technological and environmental factors on the cloud computing assimilation, which then affects firms' performance. The technological characteristics include cost-savings, technology use advantage, technology infrastructure, and technology compatibility while environmental characteristics include partner cooperation, competitive pressure, environmental uncertainty, and business agility. Furthermore, we examine inter-organizational trust as a moderating effect between environmental characteristics and cloud computing assimilation. Data from a sample of 219 firms show the significant impacts of proposed variables with exception of technology infrastructure and technology compatibility. The findings also show that inter-organizational trust has a significant moderating effect in all paths except the one between business agility and cloud computing assimilation. The implication of this study suggests a theoretical framework explaining cloud computing assimilation and performance within inter-organizational environment.

Concord: A Proactive Lightweight Middleware to Enable Seamless Connectivity in a Pervasive Environment

  • One of the major components of any pervasive system is its proactive behavior. Various models have been developed to provide system wide changes which would enable proactive behavior. A major drawback of these approaches is that they do not address the need to make use of existing applications without modifying the applications. To overcome this drawback, a middleware architecture called 'Concord' is proposed. Concord is based on a simple model which consists of Lookup Server and Database. The rewards for this simple model are many. First, Concord uses the existing computing infrastructure. Second, Concord standardizes the interfaces for all services and platforms. Third, new services can be added dynamically without any need for reconfiguration. Finally, Concord consists of Database that can maintain and publish the active set of available resources. Thus Concord provides a solid system for integration of various entities to provide seamless connectivity and enable proactive behavior.

Evidence for U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) Recommendations Against Routine Mammography for Females between 40-49 Years of Age

  • Breast cancer is the most common cancer among females, worldwide, accounting for 22.9% of all cancers (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer) in females. Mammography is a sensitive (77-95%) and specific (94-97%) screening method for breast cancer. Previously, females between the 40-50 years old were recommended to have mammograms every one to two years. However, based on current evidence, in 2009, USPSTF recommended that the decision to start regular, biennial screening mammography for females younger than 50 years should be an individual decision and take patient context into account, including the patient's values regarding specific benefits and harms. This decision was based on findings regarding radiation exposure, false-positive and false-negative rates, over-diagnosis, and pain and psychological responses. The goal of this paper is to focus on evidence for updating the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommendation against routine mammography for females between 40-49 years of age.

Using Choice-Based Conjoint Analysis to Determine Smartphone Choice - a Student's Perspective

  • The ability of smartphones to facilitate various services like mobile banking, e-commerce and mobile payments has made them part of consumers' lives. Conjoint analysis (CA) is a marketing research approach used to assess how consumers' preferences for products or services develop. The potential applications of CA are numerous in consumer electronics, banking and insurance services, job selection and workplace loyalty, consumer packaged goods, and travel and tourism. Choice-Based Conjoint (CBC) analysis is the most commonly used CA approach in marketing research. The purpose of this study is to utilise CBC analysis to investigate the relative importance of smartphone attributes that influence consumer smartphone preference. An experiment was designed using Sawtooth CBC Software. 326 students attempted the online survey. Utility values were derived by Hierarchical Bayes (HB) estimation and used to explain consumers' smartphone preferences. All the six attributes used for the study were found to significantly influence smartphone preference. Smartphone brand was the most important, followed by the price, camera, RAM, battery life, and storage. This study is one of the first to use Sawtooth CBC analysis to assess consumer smartphone preference based on the six attributes. We provide implications for the development of new smartphones based on attributes.

우리나라 청소년들의 모바일 간편 결제서비스 이용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Use of Mobile Payment Service by Korean Youth)

  • 오늘날 전 세계은행들은 IT 기술발전에 따른 급변하는 내·외적 환경변화에 적응하고 시장에서 경쟁우위를 점하기 위해 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다. 특히 스마트폰 사용률의 급격한 성장에 발맞추어 금융서비스도 핀테크(Fintech)를 이용하여 다양하게 제공하고 있으며 그 중 급성장을 하는 분야 중 하나가 모바일 간편결제라고 할 수 있다. 모바일 결제 서비스는 휴대용 모바일 기기를 이용하여 구매 대금을 지불하는 금용서비스로서 금융서비스와 정보기술의 융합인 핀테크로서 최근 금융서비스뿐만 아니라 다양한 산업분야에 사용되고 있으며 특히 지급결제 서비스의 경우 온라인 전자상거래, 유통 등 결제기능이 사용 가능한 모든 분야에서 사용되고 있다. 모바일카드의 경우 20대, 30대의 사용율은 매우 높아지고 있음을 보여주고 있어 다가올 미래에는 모바일 결제 서비스 이용은 지속적으로 높아질 것이라고 할 수 있다.인 간편결제를 이용하고 있다는 것을 알고 있다. 하지만 이러한 10대들의 모바일 결제서비스 사용에 관한 연구는 다소 미비하다고 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 우리나라 10대들이 모바일 결제 서비스를 사용함에 있어 어떠한 요인이 중요한지를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 본 연구에서 제시한 5가지 가설 중 현금사용습관은 혁신성에는 아무런 영향을 주지 않는다는 <가설 3>을 제외하고 모든 가설이 채택되었다.

병원직원의 의료시장개방에 대한 인식조사 (Study on Hospital Staff's Recognition toward Opening of Medical Services Market)

  • This study aims to deal with hospital staff's recognition on the opening of the medical services market, their attitude to the opening - agreement and disagreement, and their intention to use a foreign hospital or to consult its doctors again. It was conducted for 450 employees of one university hospital located in Gyeonggi Province, Korea with systemized questionnaires. The main results of this study are as follows: First, Medical technicians showed the highest level recognition on the opening of the medical services market. Second, The percentage of agreement to the opening was the highest for medical technicians and lowest for doctors while that of agreement was the highest for doctors and lowest for nurses. For residents, among doctors, the percentage of disagreement was the lower than that of agreement. Third, the intention to use a foreign hospital and to consult its doctor again was the lowest for medical engineers and the highest for doctors. Fourth, The most urgent task for local hospitals to accomplish in response to the opening was the improvement of the diagnosis and treatment technologies for nurses, and the improvement of the service provided by the hospital staff for the others. For doctors, in particular, the improvement of the diagnosis and treatment technologies was just the fourth urgent task. In conclusion, the result varies to the type of occupation. Apparent difference was found for doctors, in particular, that seem to be directly affected by the opening of medical services market. Local hospitals and doctors, therefore, should make efforts together to improve the diagnosis and treatment technologies. All the hospital employees of every type of occupation, meanwhile, need to prepare for the opening with medical service of improved quality.

노인장기요양보험 재가보호서비스를 이용하는 노인성 치매환자 가족의 돌봄평가와 가족기능과의 관계 (The Relationship of Caregiving Appraisal and Family Function among Senile Dementia Patients' Families using In-home Services for the Long-Term Care Insurance)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 노인장기요양보험 재가보호서비스를 이용하는 노인성 치매환자 가족의 돌봄경험에 대한 평가와 가족기능과의 관계를 파악하기 위함이다. 본 연구의 대상자는 경기도 I병원 치매예방센터에서 DSM-IV기준에 의해 치매를 진단받고 노인장기요양보험 재가보호서비스를 이용하고 있는 65세 이상의 노인성 치매환자 가족구성원 121명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구결과 대상자의 평균 연령은 $53.80{\pm}10.86$세로 여성이 75.2%이었고 그 중 딸이 37.2%로 가장 많았다. 대상자의 돌봄평가는 중립적 인식의 요구감이 가장 높았고 긍정적 인식인 숙련감, 만족감이 그 다음으로 높았다. 대상자의 가족기능은 보통정도였고 영역별로 정서적 기능이 가장 높았던 반면, 의사소통이 가장 낮았다. 대상자의 돌봄평가 중 긍정적 인식의 만족감이 높고 중립적 인식의 요구감이 낮을수록 가족기능이 높았다. 추후 노인성 치매환자 가족의 돌봄에 대한 요구감을 줄이고 만족감을 향상시키며 가족의 정서적 기능과 의사소통을 증진시키기 위한 간호중재개발이 필요하다.

콘텐츠 신디케이션을 이용한 웹 데이터 수집 및 활용 (Web Data Collection and Utilization using Content Syndication)

  • 웹 상에는 수 많은 데이터가 존재하고 있지만 원하는 데이터를 수집하여 서비스 제공을 위한 콘텐츠로 가공해 내는 것은 쉽지 않다. 그 이유 중 하나가 바로 표준화된 데이터 제공 방식이 없기 때문이다. 따라서 사이트 콘텐츠의 일부 또는 전체를 다른 서비스에서 이용할 수 있도록 해주는 콘텐츠 신디케이션은 매우 중요하다고 볼 수 있다. 콘텐츠 신디케이션의 대표적 포맷으로 XML에 기반한 RSS와 Atom, OPML 등이 있다. 이러한 신디케이션 포맷에서 제공하는 링크를 통틀어 피드 주소라고 한다. 피드 주소를 이용하면 기존 HTML을 파싱하는 것 보다 빠르게 데이터를 수집할 수 있고 데이터 제공자는 간편하게 데이터를 외부로 제공할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 피드 주소를 기반으로 하는 웹 데이터 수집 시스템을 구현하여 수집하여 얻은 데이터를 바탕으로 해당 데이터를 가공하고 활용하는 방법을 제안하였다.
