LTE를 포함한 전 휴대폰 서비스 대역 하이브리드 안테나 (Hybrid Antenna for the All Band Mobile Phone Service Including LTE)

  • 본 논문에서는 커플링 급전 구조를 사용하여 모든 이동 통신 대역을 만족하는 단말기용 모노폴+IFA(Inverted F Antenna) 하이브리드 안테나를 설계하고 이를 제작하였다. 1개의 급전 구조를 가지면서도 커플링을 이용하여 모노폴과 IFA가 동시에 동작하도록 함으로써 넓은 대역 특성을 갖도록 하였다. 안테나는 저가격 실현을 위해 carrier 부품이 없는 PCB embedded 형태로 설계하였다. 베어 보드로 제작된 안테나는 LTE/CDMA/GSM900/DCS/USPCS/WCDMA/WiBro/WiFi 대역에서 VSWR 2.5:1 특성을 만족하였다. 평균 이득과 효율은 LTE, CDMA, GSM-900 대역에서 -3.98~-0.09 dBi 및 40.03~97.99 %가 측정되었다. 또한, DCS, USPCS, WCDMA, WiBro, WiFi 대역에서는 -3.90~-1.01 dBi 및 40.70~79.31 %의 효율 특성을 가짐으로써 LTE를 포함한 휴대폰 전 대역 안테나로 사용될 수 있음을 보였다.

Printed Folded Antenna for Dual-Band WLAN Operations

  • A novel printed inverted-F antenna for dual-band WLAN is presented. The proposed design is based on the folded quarter-wave antennas, which have a conductor plate having two arms. An extremely thin prototype antenna is fabricated according to the simulation result. The obtained antenna can perform in IEEE802.11a, b(2.4~2.484 GHz and 5.15~5.35 GHz bands) and be adopted for laptop applications. All the measurements are performed in the actual test fixture.

  • This paper presents a dual band circularly polarized microstrip patch antenna. The antenna consists of two corner truncated patches implemented in one plane and single feed point. The input signal is directly excited to the patch 2 and the patch 1 is fed from patch 2 by coupling between two patches. The antenna is operated at 900 MHz and 2.45 GHz bands and has the right hand circularly polarized radiation pattern at all. The measured gains of the antenna are 2.95 dBic at 900 MHz band and 4.6 dBic at 2.45 GHz band.

Hybrid MIMO Antenna Using Interconnection Tie for Eight-Band Mobile Handsets

  • In this paper, a hybrid multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna for eight-band mobile handsets is designed and implemented. For the MIMO antenna, two hybrid antennas are laid symmetrically and connected by an interconnection tie, thereby enabling complementary operation. The tie affects both the impedance and radiation characteristics of each antenna. Further, printed circuit board (PCB) embedded type is applied to the antenna design. To verify the results of this study, we designed eight bands-LTE class 12, 13, and 14, CDMA, GSM900, DCS1800, PCS, and WCDMA-and implemented them on a bare board the same size as the real board of a handset. The voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) is within 3:1 over the entire design band. Antenna isolation is less than -15 dB at the lower band, and -12 dB at the WCDMA band. Envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) of 0.0002-0.05 is obtained for all bands. The average gain and efficiency are measured to range from -4.69 dBi to -2.88 dBi and 33.99% to 51.5% for antenna 1, and -4.74 dBi to -2.97 dBi and 33.45% to 50.49% for antenna 2, respectively.

Design Optimization of an Enhanced Stop-band UWB Bow-Tie Antenna

  • An improved design of Ultra Wide Band(UWB) Bow-Tie antenna, which can control an enhanced wide stop-band, is presented. The mutually coupled slot-pair improves and controls the rejection band. The UWB antenna is composed of an electromagnetically coupled Bow-Tie patch and a parasitic ground patch, whose working frequency is extended to full UWB range in this work. By adding slot-pairs on the main patch and optimizing, they can give any requested wide rejection bands and sharp skirt characteristics, as is often required for UWB antennas and multi-band antennas. All the parameters are precisely calculated by an adequate optimization method. The Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) technique is appropriately adopted. The proposed design and method is proved to give and control the sharp-skirt wide stop-band to UWB Bow-Tie antennas.

A Novel Monopole Antenna with Two Arc-Shaped Strips for WLAN/WiMAX Application

  • In this paper, a novel monopole antenna for WLAN/WiMAX application is presented. The proposed antenna consists of two arc-shaped strips, a vertical strip, and a slot in the ground plane. In this study, a prototype of the proposed triple-band antenna was designed, fabricated, and tested. The quantitative and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed antenna satisfy the -10 dB impedance bandwidth requirement of 440 MHz for 2.4/2.5 GHz bands (from 2.26 to 2.70 GHz), 970 MHz for 3.5 GHz bands (from 3.27 to 4.24 GHz), and 870 MHz for the GHz bands (from 5.08 to 5.95 GHz), while simultaneously covering the WLAN and WiMAX bands. In addition, the presented triple-band antenna has an omnidirectional radiation pattern at all three frequency bands with an antenna gain of 4.45 dBi for the lowest band, 2.04 dBi for the middle band, and 3.98 dBi for the highest band.

차량성능계측 원격측정 시스템의 L-band 무지향성 원편파 안테나 설계연구 (A design research on the L-band omnidirectional circular polarized wave antnna for telemetry ystem in vehicle performance test)

  • 본 논문에서는 차량의 각종 Data 송/수신용 L-Band (1435MHz~1535MHz) 무지향성 원편파 안테나의 설계연구를 수행하였다. 기존의 직선편과 안테나가 장애물 및 지면의 반사잡음의 영향으로 수신신호 크기가 감쇄되어 시험로 일부지역에서 신호손실을 초래하여 안테나 교체가 필요하였다. 그래서 반사의 의한 신호감쇄가 적은 원편파 안테나 특성과 이론적인 배경 및 설계원리를 연구하여 안테나를 제작하였고, 복사특성 실험을 통하여 설계치 보다 우수한 성능을 확인하였다. 또한 차량성능 원격측정 시스템을 이용하여 실차 실험한 직선편파 안테나와 비교하여 수신레벨이 5dB이상 향상됨과, 시험로 전지역에서 신호의 손실없이 획득 가능함을 입증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 하나의 단말기로 다수의 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 5밴드 폴디드 모노폴 안테나를 설계 제작하였다. 폴디드 모노폴 안테나의 접힌 구조를 통한 직렬 커패시턴스 보상과 물리적인 길이를 조절하여 이득을 높일 수 있는 특성을 이용하였다. 이 안테나는 CDMA/GSM/DCS/USPCS/WCDMA 5밴드 대역 특성을 만족하고 있으며, 제작에 있어서도 기존의 프레스 제작 형태가 아닌 유연성 기판(flexible PCB) 기술을 이용함으로써 낮은 생산 가격을 실현하였다 정합단을 적용한 안테나는 5밴드 대역에서 최대 이득 $-2.51{\sim}+1.82 dBi$ 결과가 나왔고, 방사 패턴 또한 전방향성 특성을 얻었다.

  • In this paper, we propose the dual band(2.4GHz and 5GHz) antenna for access point of WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network) which has similar radiation patterns for each band. Simulation results by using HFSS(High Frequency Structure Simulator) for the proposed antenna are presented. The electrical characteristics of the proposed antenna are measured with HP 8510C network analyzer and included. And radiation patterns are measured with rectangular anechoic far field antenna chamber. Measured results show that $S_{11}$ is less than - 14dB and VSWR(Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) is less than 1.5 for all frequency bands of interest. The measured maximum gain for elevation pattern at 2.40GHz is about 2.46dBi at $theta=-78^{\circ}$ and maximum gain for 5.825GHz is about 2.70dBi at $theta=-80^{\circ}.$ And the implemented antenna has good radiation pattern characteristic, therefore, we expect that the implemented dual band antenna is applicable for access point of WLAN.

  • In this paper, we designed and implemented the Dual Band Dipole Antenna with Tapered Microstrip Balun for WLAN Access Point. Two dipole antennas with different resonant frequency and the antenna structure combined additional line were implemented for dual band performance. In order to feed the balun current, the tapered microstrip balun was used. Produced the Dual Band Antenna shows a special quality. The quality is that all VSWR is less than 1.5 in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands in 802.11 standards, and it profits not less than 1.7dBi having typical Dipole Antenna pattern the very "a form of 8"pattern and Omni-directional pattern.
