  • As a result of conducting a 45 minute-long seminar on the principles, state of use, advantages, and disadvantages of nuclear power generation for Korean elementary, middle, and high school students, the levels of perception including the necessity (p<0.017), safety (p<0.000), information acquisition (p<0.000), and subjective knowledge (p<0.000), objective knowledge (p<0.000), attitude (p<0.000), and behavior (p<0.000) were all significantly higher. This indicates that education can be effective in promoting widespread social acceptance of nuclear power and its continued use. In order to induce behavior change toward positive judgments on nuclear power generation, it is necessary to focus on attitude improvement while providing the information in all areas related to the perception, knowledge, attitude, and behavior. Here, the positive message on the convenience and the safety of nuclear power generation should be highlighted.

  • This paper addresses the performance of three different types of attitude control systems for the Quad-rotor UAV to perform the flip maneuver. For this purpose, Quad-rotor UAV's 6-DOF dynamic model is derived, and it was used for designing an attitude controller of the Quad-rotor UAV. Attitude controllers are designed by three different methods. One is the open-loop control system design, another is the PD control system design, and the last method is the sliding mode control system design. Performances of all controllers are tested by 6-DOF simulation. In case of the open-loop control system, control inputs are calculated by the quad-rotor dynamic model and thrust system model that are identified by the thrust test. The 6-DOF realtime simulation environment was constructed in order to verify the performances of attitude controllers.

  • A design of CPS attitude determination system is described in this paper. The designed system is a low cost high precision 24 channel single frequency GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver which provides a precise absolute heading and pitch (or roll) as well as a position. It uses commercial chip-set and consists of two RF parts, two signal-tracking parts, a processor, memory parts and I/Os. In order to determine precise attitude, accurate carrier phase measurements and an efficient integer ambiguity resolution method are required. To meet these requirements, a PLL (Phase Locked Loops) is designed, and an algorithm called ARCE (Ambiguity Resolution with Constraint Equation) is adopted. The hardware and software structure of the system will be described, and the performance evaluated under various conditions will be presented. The test results will promise that more reliable navigation system be possible because the system provides all navigational information such as position, velocity, time and attitude.
