Xanthomonas campestris M12에 의한 포화 탄화수소의 생분해 (Biodegradation of Saturated Hydrocarbons by Xanthomonas campestris M12)

  • Xanthomonas campestris M12는 octane을 분해할 수 있는 OCT 플라스미드를 갖고 있으며, 이 플라스미드의 분해 능력으로 $C_8$에서 $C_{16}$까지의 n-alkane을 이용할 수 있었다. X. campestris M12 균주는 n-alkane을 이용하여 alcohol, aldehyde, fatty acid를 거쳐서 분해할 수 있으나 heanoic acid, adipic acid, pimelic acid 그리고 heptanal은 이용할 수 없었다. 또한 이 균주는 straight fatty acids의 monoterminal oxidation과 diterminal oxidation에 의하여 n-alkane을 분해할 수 있으며, branched-chain alkane도 이용할 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 악취가스 및 휘발성 유기 화합물을 산화 제거하기 위한 백금/티타니아를 허니컴 및 메탈폼 담체에 코팅하는 방법을 확인하였다. 다양한 방법 중 파우더 코팅과 나노 코팅에 대한 비교를 수행하였다. SEM/EDX (Scanning Electron Microscopy/Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy) 분석은 허니컴 및 메탈폼의 표면 상태 및 노출된 백금 성분비를 조사하는데 사용되었다. 또한, 촉매 코팅 방법에 따른 톨루엔, 트리메틸아민, 아이소프로필 알코올의 제거 성능을 비교하였다.

  • In spite of many reports in the literature concerning with oxidation of benzylic alcohols to carbonyl compounds with 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyanobenzoquinone (DDQ) in stoichiometric amounts or even more, we surprisingly found that benzylic alcohols are directly oxidized to oximes using a catalytic amount of DDQ in the presence of hydroxylamine hydrochloride under solvent-free conditions. The present tandem catalytic method can be efficiently used for preparation of oximes in the presence of some other functional groups with excellent chemoselectivity.

  • Asymmetric synthesis of (+)-trans-aerangis lactone was achieved from commercially available 1-hexanol or 1-hexanal in four steps via iridium-catalyzed diastereoselective and enantioselective carbonyl crotylation from the alcohol or aldehyde oxidation level, and ruthenium-catalyzed olefin metathesis.

  • 2-Hydroxymethyl-2,5-dihydrothiophene 1,1-dioxide (1) was prepared from thiophene-2-carboxylic acid by consecutive reactions involving the Birch reduction, esterification, reduction with lithium aluminum hydride, and oxidation with Oxone$^{\circledR}$. The esterification of alcohol 1 with various unsaturated carboxylic acids provided the precursors 8 for the intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction. The cheletropic expulsion of sulfur dioxide from the esters 8 followed by intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction furnished bicyclic ${\gamma}$-and ${\delta}$-lactones.

  • Bio diesel has advantages to reduce GHG(Greenhouse Gas) compare with the fossil fuel by using oil comes from plant/animal sources and even waste such as used cook oil. The diversity of energy feeds brings the positive effects to secure the national energy mix. In this circumstance, micro-algae is one of the prospective source, though some technical barriers. We analyzed the bio diesel which was derived from Dunaliella tertiolecta LB999 through the BD100 quality specifications designated by the law. From that result, it is revealed that the oxidation stability is one of the properties to be improved. In order to find the reason for low oxidation stability, we analyzed the oxidation tendency of each FAME components through some methods(EN 14111, EN14112, EN16091). In this study, we could find the higher double bond FAME portion, the more oxidative property(C18:1${\ll}C18:3$) in bio diesel and main unsaturated FAME group is acted as the key component deciding the bio diesel's oxidation stability. It is proved experimentally that C18:3 FAME are oxidized easily under the modified accelerated oxidation test. We also figure out low molecular weight hydrocarbon and FAME were founded as a result of thermal degradation. Some alcohol and aldehydes were also made by FAME oxidation. In conclusion, it is necessary to find the way to improve the micro-algal bio diesel's oxidation stability.

인삼의 알콜해독 효과 (Effects of Panax ginseng on Alcohol Detoxification)

  • 건강한 성인남자 14명을 대상으로 하여 혈중 알콜해독에 미치는 인삼의 효과 관찰 실험을 실시하였다. 술과 인삼을 동시에 마시는 시험군과 술만 마시는 대조군을 설정하여, 술을 마신후 40분이 경과하였을 때 혈중알콜농도를 측정하였다. 술 (70g/65kg 체중)과 동시에 인삼 (3g/65kg체중)을 먹었을 때의 혈중알콜농도 ($0.11\%$)는 대조군의 혈중알콜농도 ($0.18\%$)의 약 $6.5\%$이었고, 또 혈중알콜농도를 각 개인별로 비교해보면 실험대상자 14명중 인삼과 술을 동시에 마셨을때의 혈중 알콜농도가 술만 마셨을 때의 혈중 알콜농도의 $65\%{\~}49\%$에 불과한 사람이 10명이나 되었다. 인삼의 알콜배출속도에 미치는 영향을 관찰하기 위한 방사능이 표시된 알콜을 실험동물에 투여한 후 알콜의 대사물인 $^{14}CO_2$가 호흡을 통하여 배출되는 량을 측정비교 하였다. 알콜 투여후 2-7시간 사이의 $^{14}CO_2$ 배출속도는 알콜의 대사 및 배출속도를 증가시켜 알콜해독을 촉진한다는 것을 설명해주고 있다.

크롬(VI)-4,4'-Bipyridine 착물에 의한 치환 벤질 알코올류의 산화반응 속도론과 메카니즘 (Kinetics and Mechanism of the Oxidation of Substituted Benzyl Alcohols by Cr(VI)-4,4'-Bipyridine Complex)

  • 크롬(VI)-4,4'-bipyridine 착물(4,4'-bipyridinium dichromate)를 합성하여, 적외선분광광도법(IR), 유도결합 플라즈마(ICP) 등으로 구조를 확인하였다. 여러 가지 용매하에서 4,4'-bipyridinium dichromate를 이용하여 벤질 알코올의 산화반응을 측정한 결과 유전상수(${\varepsilon}$) 값이 큰 용매 순서인 시클로헥센<클로로포름<아세톤$CH_3$, H, m-Br, m-$NO_2$)를 효과적으로 산화시켰다. 그리고 전자받개 그룹들은 반응속도가 감소한 반면에 전자주개 치환체들은 반응속도를 증가시켰다. 또한 Hammett 반응상수(${\rho}$) 값은 -0.63(303K) 이었다. 그러므로 본 실험에서 알코올의 산화반응 과정은 먼저 크토메이트 에스테르 형성과정을 거친 후, 속도결정단계에서 양성자 전이가 일어나는 메카니즘임을 알 수 있었다.

A Novel Method for Preparing of Oxoruthenates Complexes: trans-[RuO3(OH)2]2-, [RuO4]-, (n-Pr4N)+[RuO4]- and [RuO4 and Their Use as Catalytic Oxidants

  • The synthesis and characterization of ${K_3[Ru(C_2O_4)3]{\cdot}4H_2O\;(C_2O_4}^{2-}$ = oxalato anoin) complex are described, and its redox properties (in buffer solution of pH = 12) have been investigated. This complex is used for in situ generation of oxoruthenates complexes which have been characterized by electronic spectroscopy. Reaction of ${K_3[Ru(C_2O_4)3]{\cdot}4H_2O$ with excess ${S_2O_8}^{2-}$ in molar KOH generates trans-${[RuO_3(OH)_2]^{2-}/S_2O_8}^{2-}$ reagent while with excess ${BrO_3}^-$ in molar $Na_2CO_3$ generates ${[RuO_4]^-/BrO_3}^-$ reagent. Avoiding the direct use of [$RuO_4$] the organic-soluble $(n-Pr_4N)^+[RuO_4]^-$, (TPAP) has been isolated by reaction of $K_3[Ru(C_2O_4)3]{\cdot}4H_2O$ with excess ${BrO_3}^-$ in molar carbonate and n-$Pr_4$NOH. In a mixture of $H_2O/CCl_4$ ruthenium tetraoxide can be generated by reaction of $K_3[Ru(C_2O_4)3]{\cdot}4H_2O$ with excess ${IO_4}^-$. The catalytic activities of oxoruthenates that have been made from $K_3[Ru(C_2O_4)3]{\cdot}4H_2O$ towards the oxidation of benzyl alcohol, piperonyl alcohol, benzaldehyde and benzyl amine at room temperature have been studied.

만성적인 에탄올 섭취와 천연물 투여가 흰쥐의 항산화계와 에탄올 산화계에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Chronic Ethanol Consumption and Herbal Extracts Administration on the Antioxidant System and Ethanol Oxidation System in Rats)

  • This study had been done for the investigation of the effect of Vitis vinifera extract(V), Schisandra chinensis extract (S), Taraxacum officinale extract (T), Gardenia jasminoides extract (G), Angelica acutiloba extract (A) and Paeonia japonica extract (P), and their mixtures on the antioxidant and ethanol oxidation system which was induced by Lieber-DeCarli ethanol liquid diet. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into eight groups: ethanol diet (ED), normal diet (ND), ED+V (100 mg/kg/day), ED+S, ED+T, ED+G, ED+A and ED+P (300 mg/kg/day). We studied the effect on alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) and acetaldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) after herbal extracts administration for 6 weeks in rats induced by Lieber-DeCarli ethanol liquid diet. The differences in ADH and ALDH activity of the rats treated with herbal extracts and ED group were not significant. Phase I enzyme activity was found to be significantly higher in the ED+V than the ED group. Phase II enzymes (glutathione-S-transferase, phenol sulfatransferase) activities were found to be higher in the herbal extracts than the ED group. Herbal extracts not only reduced ethanol-induced elevation of level malondialdehyde but also protected against ethanol-induced decrease of reduced glutathione, gluthione reducatse, glutathione peroxidase, catalase and superoxide dismutase activities. Therefore, they can be utilized as a health functional food or new drug candidate for fatty liver and hepatotoxicity which was induced by chronic alcohol consumption.
