로봇으로 용접한 알루미늄 선박용 6061-T6 합금의 기계적, 전기화학적 특성 (Mechanical and Electrochemical Characteristics in Welding with Robot on 6061-T6 Al Alloy for Al Ship)

  • The construction of fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) boats is decreasing trend since the application of international regulations on the control of marine environmental pollution, which recommended the use of environmentally friendly materials. The aluminum alloy used with material for ship is a superior to FRP. It is environmental friendly, easy to recycle, and provides a high added value to fishing boats. However, the welding for Al alloy materials have many problems, such as deformation by welding heat and effect of the working environment. In this paper, it was carried out welding by robot with welding material of ER5183 and ER5556 on 6061-T6 Al alloy for ship. The mechanical and electrochemical characteristics evaluated for specimen welded by robot. The cathodic polarization trend for the base metal and welding metal showed the effects of concentration polarization due to oxygen reduction and activation polarization due to hydrogen generation. The hardnesses of welding zone and heat affected zone are lower than that of base metal. At the result of tensile test, the specimen welded with ER5183 presented excellent property compared with ER5556.

분사주조한 Al 6061 합금의 Mg/Si 첨가량의 변화에 따른 기계적 특성 고찰 (A Study on the Mechanical Properties of Spray-cast Al 6061 Alloy with Variation of Mg/Si Content)

  • Mechanical properties of the spray-cast Al 6061 alloy with variation of Mg/Si addition were investigated. After spray-cast, hot extrusion was performed at $460^{\circ}C$ then followed ageing treatment to the T6 condition. SEM, EDX, and XRD were used to characterize a ${\beta}(Mg_{2}Si)$ precipitate. The amount of ${\beta}$ precipitate was calculated from the XRD measurements. Hardness, ultimate tensile strength and elongation were tested then compared with those of the Al 6061 alloys made by ingot metallurgy (I/M) and powder metallurgy (P/M). The ultimate tensile strength and elongation of the spray-cast Al 6061 alloy were 318MPa and 16.5%, respectively. These properties were improved in the 2.2 wt%Mg and 1.3wt%Si addition up to 349MPa of UTS and 12.5% of elongation, mainly due to increased amount of a fine supersaturated ${\beta}(Mg_{2}Si)$ precipitate.

  • We investigated the change of mechanical properties for TiNi shape memory alloy by heat treatment. 6061Al matrix composites with TiNi shape memory alloy as reinforcement were fabricated by vacuum casting. TiNi alloy has the maximum tensile strength at 673K treated and there is no change of tensile strength and hardness at 448K treated. The composites, prepared by vacuum casting, showed good interface bonding by vacuum casting. It was about 3$\mu\textrm{m}$ of thickness of the diffusion layer. Tensile strength of the composite was in higher than that of 6061Al alloy as increased value of about 70MPa at room temperature and about 110MPa at 363K. We thought that the increase of the tensile strength at 363K was due to reverse transformation of the TiNi shape memory alloy.

SiC 휘스커 보강 Al 6061 복합재료의 피로균열진전 특성에 관한 기초 연구 (The Basic Study on Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior of SiC Whisker Reinforced Aluminium 6061 Composite Material)

  • SiCw/Al composite material is especially attractive because of their superior specific strength, specific stiffness, corrosion fatigue resistance, creep resistance, and wear resistance compared with the corresponding wrought Al alloy. In this study, Fatigue crack growth behavior and fatigue crack path morphology(FCPM) of SiC whisker reinforced Al 6061 alloy with 25% SiC volume fraction and Al 6061 allay were performed. Result of the fatigue crack growth test sgiwed that fatigue crack growth rate of SiCw/Al 6061 composite was slower than that of Al 6061 matrix therefore it was confirmed that Sic whisker have a excellent fatigue resistance. And Al 6061 matrix had only FCPM perpendicular to loading direction. On the other hand SiCw/Al 6061 composite had three types in fatigue crack path morphology. First type is that both sides FCPM of artificial notch are perpendicular to loading direction. Second type is that a FCPM in artifical notch has slant angle to loading direction and the other side FCPM is perpendicular to loading direction. Third type is that both sides FCPM of notch have slant angle to loading direction. It was considered that this kinds of phenomena were due to non-uniform distribution of SiC whisker and confirmed by SEM observation for fracture mechanism study.

6061-T6 합금의 최적 마찰교반 용접 조건 규명 및 전기화학적 특성 평가 (Evaluation of Electrochemical Characteristic and Investigation on Optimum Condition in Friction Stir Welding for 6061-T6 Al Alloy)

  • In friction stir welding for 6061-T6 with various traveling speed and rotation speed conditions, the best mechanical characteristics presented in traveling speed of 507 mm/min and rotation speed of 1100RPM. The maximum tensile strength and yield strength increased with the increasing of traveling speed. The result of the electrochemical characteristic evaluation in friction stir welding at optimum conditions for 6061-T6 Al alloy presented a good characteristics compare to base metal.

  • For the aluminum material of the thick-thickness more than 100mm Penetration depth Electron beam welding is effectively applicable with a characteristic of high energy intensity. But Al 6061 alloy has high crack sensitivity due to minor alloys, which are silicon, magnesium, copper etc. With a sample block of 135mm thickness EBW test was performed in vertical position. As tensile strength has $210{\sim}220N/mm^2$ with weld area broken. Bend test shows low ductility with fracture of partly specimens. Chemical contents of alloys show no difference between weld and base metal. Defect in middle weld area figures out typical hot crack due to low melting materials. Micro structure of weld area has some difference compare to HAZ and base metal. As a result of EBW test for Al 6061 alloy, it shows that weld defect could be occurred even though establishing of optimum weld parameter condition.

  • In this study, surface porosity and corrosion resistance of PEO coatings prepared on the 6061 Al alloy were investigated in terms of sodium phosphate ($Na_3PO_4$) concentrations in an alkaline solution and $NaAlO_2$ sealing. The surface morphologies of the PEO coatings clearly show that the coatings film formed in $9g\;L^{-1}$ had the lowest porosity. The $NaAlO_2$ sealing was found to remove micropores and cracks existing on the surface of PEO coatings. As a result, the $NaAlO_2$ sealing resulted in the movement of corrosion potential toward more positive value and lower corrosion current density.

FSW된 이종알루미늄합금의 접합 특성 및 미세 조직 (Mechanical Properties and Microstructure on Dissimilar Friction-Stir-Weld of Aluminium Alloys)

  • 이종합금인 알루미늄 합금 6061-T6와 알루미늄 합금 5083-O의 용접을 위해 마찰교반 용접기술을 사용하였다. 마찰교반 용접된 이종 접합부에 대하여 기계적 특성, 경도 및 조직변화를 관찰하였다. 용접재의 기계적특성은 후진 측에 위치한 알루미늄 합금의 교반영역에 형성되는 미세조직이 주요한 변수로 작용하였다. 이종 알루미늄 합금이 교차한 양파 모양 형상의 얇은 층을 이루었다. 미세조직관찰에서 공구회전방향과 무관하게 이종합금 접합부에 기공이 관찰되지 않았으나 6061-T6 쪽 열영향부 영역에서 결정립 조대화기 뚜렷하였다. 본 논문의 연구결과, 결함이 없는 최상의 용접조건은 Al 6061-T6를 공구 진행방향에 전진 측에, Al 5083-O를 후진 측에 위치하고, 이송속도 124 mm/min, 1250 rpm의 공구의 회전수, 5 mm의 프루브 직경, 4.5 mm의 프루브 길이, 20 mm의 공구어깨, $2^{\circ}$의 공구 경사각 이다. 이때 용접재의 최대인장강도는 231 MPa이였고, 항복강도는 121 MPa을 나타내었다.
