쌍롤 박판주조법 및 이속압연으로 제조한 고성형성 6xxx계 Al 합금 판재 (6xxx Series Al Alloy Sheets with High Formability Produced by Twin-roll Strip Casting and Asymmetric Rolling)

  • We report on the feasibility of producing 6xxx series Al alloy sheets using a combination of twin-roll strip casting and asymmetric rolling. The Al alloy sheets produced in this study exhibited an excellent formability ($\bar{r}=1.2$, ${\Delta}r=0.17$) and mechanical properties (${\sigma}_{TS}{\sim}260MPa$, ${\varepsilon}>30%$), which cannot be feasibly obtained via the conventional technique based on ingot casting and conventional rolling. The enhanced formability as evaluated in terms of $\bar{r}$ and ${\Delta}r$ was clarified by examining the evolution of textures associated with strip casting and subsequent thermo-mechanical treatments. The evaluation of the formability leads us to conclude that the combined technique based on strip casting and asymmetric rolling is a feasible process for enhancing the formability of Al alloy sheets to a level beyond which the conventional technique can reach.

  • 알루미늄 합금은 자동차부품 및 전자부품산업 개발에 크게 기여하고 있는 소재로서, 제조방법 중 냉?온간 단조 공법에 의해 제조하는 것이 대량 생산되어지는 자동차 및 전자산업부품개발에 있어서 매우 효율적이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 차세대 콤프레샤 실린더 블록 개발을 위하여,AI소재 (AI-Mg-Si계합금)를 활용, 냉 -온간 단조법을 이용 하여 개발하고자 한다. 이를 위해, 제조 시편의 미세조직 및 기계적 성질을 조사하였는데,미세조직은 공정형으로 구성되었으며, $Mg_2Si$의 중간상이 석출되었다. 그리고 인장강도는 291.7MPa 로 나타났으며, 그러한 결과를 바탕으 로 차세대 콤프레샤 실린더 블록시제품을 제작하였다.

  • The chemical conversion film formed on magnesium alloy was investigated by using the colloidal silica with some parameters such as solution pH. temperature, solution conditions, and treatment time. Moreover. the solutions consisted of colloidal silica titanium sulfate, and cobalt ions were used for the colloidal silica film to having a good corrosion resistance and adhesion properties. It was thought that the film at 298K was made with combination of Si-O. The quantity of film formed at high temperature such as 333K and 353K is smaller than dissolved quantity during chemical conversion treatment. Adding $CoSO_4$ to the colloidal silica solution enhanced the adhesion force between the silica film and magnesium substrate, The optimum conditions for the chemical conversion treatment solution were PH 2.90 s treatment, and 298K.

  • The Mg-loss of AlSi 7% melts containing from 0 to 0.8% Mg during the Hexachloroethane tablet degassing was investigated. The results of the experiment was discussed in view of the free energy change and kinetics of $MgCl_2$ formation. The melts with Mg content less than 0.5% showed a Mg-loss proportional to Mg-content, while it was constant at about 24% of the weight of tablets, when Mg content of the melt became more than 0.5 %. The rate of Mg-loss was drastically reduced, when the amount of tablets used at a time increased ver a certain limit for a given melt quantity.

  • 본 연구는 건식제련법으로 폐 PCB를 처리하는 공정에서 슬래그 중 Ni의 용해거동에 대한 기초연구로서, CaO-$SiO_2-Al_2O_3$-MgO계 슬래그와 Cu-5 wt%Ni합금 사이의 Ni 분배거동을 1623~1823 K의 $CO_2$-CO 분위기 중에서 조사하였다. 평형산소분압이 증가할수록 Ni의 분배비는 선형적으로 증가하였으며, 이 결과로부터 Ni의 슬래그 중 용해반응은 다음과 같이 나타낼 수 있다. $$Ni(l)_{metal}+\frac{1}{2}O_2(g)NiO(l)_{slag}$$ 슬래그 중 염기성 산화물(CaO와 MgO)의 농도가 증가할수록 Ni의 분배비는 선형적으로 증가하였다. 그러나 반응 온도가 높을수록 Ni의 분배비는 선형적으로 감소하였다. 이러한 결과로부터 Ni의 분배비에 미치는 실험변수의 영향을 다중 회귀분석하여 다음과 같은 경험식을 얻었다. $${\log}L_{Ni}=0.4000{\log}P_{O2}-5.1{\times}10^{-4}T+0.3375\(\frac{X_{CaO}+X_{MgO}}{X_{SiO2}}\)$$

분무성형법에 의해 제조된 $Al-SiC)_p$ 금속기 복합재료의 미세조직과 성질에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Microstructures and Properties of $Al-SiC)_p$ Metal Matrix Composites Fabricated by Spray Forming Process)

  • 6061Al-SiCP metal matrix composite materials(MMCs) were fabricated by injecting SiCP particles directly into the atomized spray. The main attraction of this technique is the rapid fabrication of semi-finished, composite products in a combined atomization, particulate injection(10 $\mu\textrm{m}$, 40 $\mu\textrm{m}$, SiCP) and deposition operation. Conclusions obtained are as follows; The microstructure of the unreinforced spray formed 6061Al alloy consisted of relatively fine(50 $\mu\textrm{m}$) equiaxed grains. By comparision, the microstructure of the I/M materials was segregated and consisted of relatively coarse(150 $\mu\textrm{m}$) grains. The probability of clustering of SiCP particles in co-sprayed metal matrix composites increased it ceramic particle size(SiCP) was reduced and the volume fraction was held constant. Analysis of overspray powders collected from the spray atomization and deposition experiments indicated that morphology of powders were nearly spherical and degree of powders sphercity was deviated due to composite with SiCp particles. Interfacial bonding between matrix and ceramics was improved by heat treatment and addition of alloying elements(Mg). Maximum hardness values [Hv: 165 kg/mm2 for Al-10 $\mu\textrm{m}$ SiCp Hv--159 kg/mm2 for Al-40 $\mu\textrm{m}$SiCp] were obtained through the solution heat treatment at $530^{\circ}C$ for 2 hrs and aging at $178^{\circ}C$, and there by the resistance were improved.

  • In this paper, we studied on both electrochemical polarization behaviors and pitting characteristics of ultra high strength Al-Cu-Li-Mg-Ag-Zr alloys(named C1 and C2) and 2090 alloy according to their treatments in the deaerated 3.5% NaCl, using by the potentiodynamic and the potentiostatic method, SEM micrograph and surface roughness including depth of pitting attack. With the cyclic polarization curves, the hysteresis of the C1 and C2 alloys appeared more remarkably than that of the 2090 alloy, because of precipitation microstructural difference between C1, C2 alloys and 2090 alloy. In the pitting experiments, the correlations between pitting growth and aging conditions were analyzed with the SEM micrograph and measurement of the pit depth.

Al-Si-Cu계 합금의 주조법과 용체화처리 조건이 기계적 특성변화에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Solid Solution Treatment Conditions and Casting Methods on Mechanical Properties of Al-Si-Cu Based Alloys)

  • In this study, the effects of two different casting methods (gravity casting and, diecasting) and various solid-solution conditions on the mechanical properties of ASC (Al-10.5wt%Si-1.75wt%Cu) and ALDC12 (Al-10.3wt%Si-1.72wt%Cu-0.76wt%Fe-0.28wt% Mn-0.32wt%Mg-0.9wt%Zn) alloys were investigated. A thermodynamic solidification analysis program (PANDAT) was used to predict the liquidus, solidus, and phases of the used alloys. In the results of an XRD analysis, ${\beta}$-AlFeSi peaks were observed only in the ALDC12 alloy regardless of the casting method or SST (solid-solution treatment) conditions. However, according to the results of a FE-SEM observation, both ${\theta}(Al_2Cu)$ and ${\beta}$-AlFeSi were found to exist besides ${\alpha}$-Al and eutectic Si in the gravity-casted ASC alloy at $500^{\circ}C$ after a SST of 120min. The ${\alpha}$-AlFeSi and ${\beta}$-AlFeSi phases including the eutectic phases were also found to exist in the ALDC12 alloy. The results of a microstructural observation and analyses by XRD, FE-SEM and EDS were in good agreement with the PANDAT results. The gravity-casted ALDC12 and ASC specimens showed the highest Y.S. and UTS values after aging for three hours at $180^{\circ}C$ after a SST at $500^{\circ}C$ for 30min. At longer solid-solution treatment times at $500^{\circ}C$ in the gravity-casted ALDC12 and ASC specimens, the elongations of the ASC alloys increased, whereas they decreased slightly in the ALDC12 alloys.

  • SiC whisker and $Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ short fiber reinforced AC8A, AC8B and AC8B(J) marix composites were fabricated by squeeze casting method. Preform deformation, change of reinforcement volumefraction and formation of macro-segregation in two composites were investigated by using micro Vickers hardness test, analysis of macro and micro structures with OM, SEM and EDAX. $Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ short fiber preform manufactured with 5% $SiO_2$ binder in this study was considerably deformed and cracked, nevertheless, the short fibers were distributed homogeneously in the composites. In SiC whisker reinforced composites, on the other hand, preform deforming and cracking were not occurred, however, macro segregation zone formed along the infiltration routes by interface reaction during infiltration of molten metal into the preform was observed at center-low area in the composites. The decrease of hardness in the macro segregation zone resulted from the depletion of Si and Mg atoms.

  • The foam-filled tube beams can be used for the front rail and firewall structures to absorb impact energy during frontal or side collision of vehicles. In the case of side collision where bending is involved in the crushing mechanism, the foam filler would be effective in maintaining progressive crushing of the thin-walled structures so that much impact energy could be absorbed. In this study, bending behaviors of the closed-cell-aluminum-alloy-foam-filled stainless steel tube were investigated. The various foam-filled specimens including piecewise fillers were prepared and tested. The aluminum-alloy-foam filling offered the significant increase of bending resistance. Their suppression of the inward fold formation at the compression flange as well as the multiple propagating folds led to the increase of load carrying capacity of specimens. Moreover, the piecewise foams would provide the easier way to fill the thin-walled shell structures without the drawback of strength.
