Effects of Rotor Misalignment in Airgap on Dynamic Response of an Eccentric Rotor in BLDC Motor

  • Vibration of a BLDC motor is a coupled phenomenon between mechanical characteristics and magnetic origins which takes place through the motor airgap. When relative misalignment of a rotor in the airgap is introduced during assembly, the dynamic characteristics of the motor system are affected. The rotor-motor system used in a washing machine is modeled using FETM and magnetic forces in a BLDC motor with radial rotor eccentricity are determined analytically The transient whirl responses of a rotor system supported on two roller bearings with relative misalignment in the motor airgap are investigated by considering mechanical and magnetic coupling effects. Results show that rotor misalignment in the airgap considerably affects the vibration of the rotor-motor system.

A Development of the Algorithm to Detect the Fault of the Induction Motor Using Motor Current Signature Analysis (전류분석을 이용한 유도 전동기의 결함분석 알고리듬 개발)

  • The motor current signature provides an important source of the information for the faults diagnosis of three-phase induction motor. The theoretical principles behind the generation of unique signal characteristics, which are indicative of failure mechanisms, are Presented. The fault detection techniques that can be used to diagnose mechanical Problems, stator and rotor winding failure mechanisms, and air-gap eccentricity are described. A theoretical analysis is presented which predicts the presence of unique signature patterns in the current that are only characteristics of the fault. The predictions are verified by experimental results from a special fault Producing test rig and on-site tests in a steel company. And this study have made new diagnostic algorithm for the operating induction motors with the test results. These developments are including the use of monitoring and analysis of electric current to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and gave the precise test results automatically.

  • There are various causes for noise production in induction motors, and among them, the noise generated by magnetic vibrating distribution forces have an important meanings. In this paper, the magnetic vibrating distribution forces in squirrelcage induction motors were arranged systematically in the consideration of stator harmonics and it's forces were not considered the effection of airgap eccentricity and deformation. With the application of the finite element method in order to find magnetic flux density and with the calculation of the permeance of rotor node, the magnetic vibrating distribution forces were analyzed.

  • 유도 전동기의 편심 고장은 베어링 손상 등으로 발생되며, 심해질 경우 고정자와 회전자간의 접촉으로 전동기 파괴를 일으킨다. 이를 진단하는 대표적인 방법으로 온라인 전류 스펙트럼 분석법(Motor Current Signature Analysis, MCSA)이 있으나 전동기 정보의 필요, 부하에 영향을 받는 등의 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 유도 전동기의 편심을 오프라인으로 진단하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 유도 전동기의 회전자의 위치를 변경하며 고정자 권선으로부터 관측된 임피던스 값으로 편심을 진단한다. 제안된 방법은 온라인 진단 후 정확한 편심 고장 여부를 확인하는데 사용될 수 있으며, 7.5마력 유도전동기의 정적, 동적, 복합 편심에 대한 실험을 통해 증명되었다.
