고속전철 객실의 공기 분배 및 기류에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (A Numerical Study on Air Distribution and Flow in the Passenger Cabin of a High-Speed Electric Train)

  • Numerical analysis has been conducted on three-dimensional airflow distribution in the passenger cabin of a high-speed electric train. The types of air distribution systems investigated in the present study were those of TGV and Shinkansen. The Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations governing the mass and momentum conservations of the airflow in the cabin were solved by using a finite volume method, which are coupled with the standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model equations. Predicted velocity distributions were presented on several selected planes in the passenger cabin. The present three-dimensional simulations were found to show the overall features of the airflow in the passenger cabin fairly well. In particular, it was shown that the type of air distribution for Shinkansen was more suitable for a non-smoking cabin than that for TGV.

  • 일반적으로 사용되는 변압기에 비해 공진형 컨버터의 변압기와 유도급전 시스템에 사용되는 비접촉 변압기의 경우 공극이 아주 크다. 이런 경우, 일반적인 측정 방법으로는 정확한 변압기의 변수를 얻을 수 없다. 하지만 coupled 인덕터 측정 방법을 이용하여 공극이 큰 변압기의 변수를 측정하면 일반적인 변압기 측정 방법에 비해 정확한 변압기 변수를 얻을 수 있다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 공진탱크를 구현하여 PSpice 시뮬레이션과 임피던스 분석기(PSM1735)의 결과를 비교하여 2가지 측정 방법 중 coupled 인덕터 측정 방법이 정확하게 측정 가능함을 검증하였다.

HSDI 디젤엔진의 연료분사계와 연소현상을 연계한 수치해석 (Coupled Simulation of Common Rail Fuel Injection and Combustion Characteristics in a HSDI Diesel Engine)

  • In this study, the coupled simulation of fuel injection model and three-dimensional KIVA-3V code was tried to develop an algorism for predicting the effects of varying fuel injection parameter on the characteristics of fuel injection and emissions. The numerical simulations were performed using STAR-CD code in order to calculate the intake air flow, and the combustion characteristics is examined by KIVA-3V code linked with the conditional moment closure(CMC) model to predict mean turbulent reaction rate. Parametric investigation with respect to twelve relevant injection parameters shows that appropriate modification of control chamber orifice diameter, needle valve spring constant and nozzle chamber orifice diameter can significantly reduce NOx and soot emissions. Consequently, it is needed to optimize the fuel injection system to reduce the specific emissions such as NOx and soot.

  • In laminar non-premixed flame situation, the flamelet model is not suitable for simulating slow processor like soot and radiation. Thus in this study, we overcome this limitation by using the transient flamelet model. Also, for soot formation on laminar non-premixed flame, transient flamelet coupled with two-equation soot model has been adopted due to its inherent advantages in terms of accuracy and availability. Based on numerical results, the detailed discussion has been made for the precise structure and soot formation processes in the pressurized methane air flames.

  • An analytical study is presented on the hydroelastic vibration of two rectangular identical plates coupled with a bounded fluid by using the finite Fourier series expansion method. It is observed that the two contrastive modes, the so called the out-of-phase and in-phase modes. All natural frequency of the in-phase modes can be predicted well by the combination of the beam modes in the air, but the natural frequency of the out-of-phase mode cannot be estimated precisely.   • An investigation of tunnel linings is performed at two tunnels in the US using complimentary noncontact techniques: air-coupled ground penetrating radar (GPR), and a vehicle-mounted scanning system (SPACETEC) that combines laser, visual, and infrared thermography scanning methods. This paper shows that a combination of such techniques can maximize inspection coverage in a comprehensive and efficient manner. Since ground-truth is typically not available in public tunnel field evaluations, the noncontact techniques used are compared with two reliable in-depth contact nondestructive testing methods: ground-coupled GPR and ultrasonic tomography. The noncontact techniques are used to identify and locate the reinforcement mesh, structural steel ribs, internal layer interfaces, shallow delamination, and tile debonding. It is shown that this combination of methods can be used synergistically to provide tunnel owners with a comprehensive and efficient approach for monitoring tunnel lining conditions.

  • This study is to develop an ammonia based chemical heat pump(STELF) for a freezing and refrigeration system coupled to gas, fuel and/or waste from industrial processes as heat sources. Recently it has been continually taking a growing interest in chemical heat pumps without electric power and having higher COP's than those of existing compression type refrigeration systems using freon. By introducing STELF technology, efficient heat recovery utilizing enormous amount of waste heat in energy consuming large scale industries or building for their own refrigeration purposes is possible. Moreover, air-conditioning systems coupled to city gas for small scale industries or building can be realized. Therefore, STELF technology can contribute much for overall energy savings and efficient energy management.

  • 본 논문에서는 공기 절연 적층형 마이크로스트립 구조의 새로운 MMIC 3dB 커플러를 제안하였다. 제안된 커플러의 제작은 아주 간단하며, 유전체 공정을 필요로 하지 않는다. 제안된 커플러의 구조 해석을 위해서 HP-Momentum을 이용하였으며, 이를 통해 제안된 커플러의 구조를 최적화 하였다. 제작된 커플러는 22 GHz대역폭(23~GHz~45GHz)을 갖고 있었다. 또한, 제안된 커플러를 이용하여 Ka-Band용 평형 2단 증폭기를 성공적으로 제작하였다.

연속주조공정에서의 유동과 응고에 대한 유한요소 모델링 (A Finite Element Modeling on the Fluid Flow and Solidification in a Continuous Casting Process)

  • The coupled turbulent flow and solidification is considered in a typical slab continuous easting process using commercial program FIDAP. Standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model is modified to decay turbulent viscosity in the mushy zone and laminar viscosity is set to a sufficiently large value at the solid region. This coupled turbulent flow and solidification model also contains thermal contact resistance due to the mold powder and air gap between the strand and mold using an effective thermal conductivity. From the computed flow pattern, the trajectory of inclusion particles was calculated. The comparison between the predicted and experimental solidified shell thickness shows a good agreement.

수소 혼합에 따른 덤프 연소기내의 연소 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Combustion Characteristics with Hydrogen Enrichment in a Dump Combustor)

  • The combustion characteristics of a partially premixed flame in a dump combustor were studied to determine the effects of hydrogen enrichment in propane. Bluff-body was used for flame stabilization. Fuel mixtures containing a hydrogen mole fraction ranging from 0.1 to 0.5 were burnt at ambient pressure within a quartz chamber. Tests were carried out keeping the total reactant flow rate by adjusting the fuel and air flow rates. The fluctuations of pressure were measured by piezoelectric pressure sensor. The instantaneous flame structure and OH chemiluminescence images were described by High-speed Intensified Charged Coupled Device (HICCD) camera and Intensified Charged Coupled Device (ICCD) camera. The present results show that hydrogen enrichment in fuel changed the location of primary reaction zone from inner recirculation zone to turbulent shear layer and pressure signal. The reason is that chemical aspects take precedence over flow aspects in the hydrogen-enriched flame.
