Experimental Study of Characteristics on Double Heat Exchange Pipe Used Separation Type Air-Conditioner (분리형 에어컨용 2중 열교환 배관 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, the ability for the function of double pipe inserted liquid pipe with small diameter in the gas pipe with large diameter for the circulating of liquid of high temperature and high pressure and low temperature and low pressure at the same time is presented. And in this double pipe, liquid pipe of high temperature and pressure is used to connect condenser and expansion valve and gas pipe of low temperature is used to connect evaporator and compressor. Also, when liquid refrigerant of high temperature and gas refrigerant of low temperature is circulated by reversed flow in the double pipe. The contribution of liquid gas heat exchange pipe is studied by comparison of the effect of heat transfer by temperature difference when liquid pipe and gas pipe is installed separately.

  • For the air-conditioner, refrigerant induced noise and vibration should be the problem when it reduced airflow rate in order to reduce the noise at low mode. With the test, it could be verified that one of the main reason for refrigerant induced noise were the velocity and flowing induced force of the refrigerant at the inlet of evaporator. So in order to reduce this velocity with same mass flow rate of refrigerant, quality at the evaporator inlet should be minimized. And in order to reduce flowing induced force of the refrigerant, flowing direction change should be eliminated. So in this paper, it would like to review the characteristics of refrigerating cycle at first and find how the quality and flowing induced force can be minimized.

  • Hybrid car can improve fuel efficiency using a power of motor that is generated during constant-speed or deceleration driving. The motor is located between engine and transmission. But, when voltage of main battery is low, fuel efficiency is low because the voltage can't run the motor. In this situation, this study observed fuel efficiency when using solar cell for assistance power. In order to verify a fuel consumption of hybrid car equipped solar cell for assistance power, the car was tested downtown driving. As hybrid car was equipped solar cell for assistance, fuel consumption was reduced 8.35 % at running air conditioner. And, at air conditioner doesn't work, fuel consumption was reduced 6.88 %. This point of view, CO2 is expected to reduce in similar proportion.

  • In this study, distributed the ship's Centralized Air Conditioning System the way an individual to replace the air conditioning system by using Air-cooled air conditioner. Research results, Individually separated air conditioning system complement the heat source control and thermal efficiency problems and improves the efficiency of the device was confirmed. In addition, under the same conditions refrigeration capacity and coefficient of performance of the device, an average of about 3 %, 23 ~ 26 %, higher, Chilled Water Plants Compressor power consumption is about 12 % lower. Also while heating under the same conditions, power consumption is about 33.5 % lower. Therefore Individually Separated Air Conditioning System greatly contributed to the improved performance of the device and living spaces for comfortable temperature and humidity control as well as heating source could be obtained.

  • We actually installed antibacterial air filter on the air intake route to air conditioner in passenger car and evaluated filters performance on antibacterial effect. And also, antibacterial effect was observed at whole are of filter media by zone of inhibition test. In the evaluation of antibacterial test, it was shown that the air filter has notably sufficient antibacterial efficiency against ordinary filter.

Development of Fugitive Emission Model of HFC-134a from Mobile Air Conditioner of Passenger Automobiles (승용차 냉방장치로부터의 온실가스 냉매인 HFC-134a 탈루배출모델에 대한 연구)

  • The objective of this research was to develop fugitive emission models of HFC-134a (Hydrofluorocarbon-134a) at the operation and disposal stages of passenger cars. It is essential to estimate the emission of HFC-134a from mobile air conditioner (MAC) due to its high Global Warming Potential (GWP) and extensive use as a refrigerant in MAC. The first-order emission model was introduced and the emission rate constant was assumed to be unvaried with time. A commercial recovery station of refrigerants was used to recover the HFC-134a from the MAC. Average emission rate constant and annual emission rate during the operation period of vehicle are estimated to be $0.0538{\pm}0.0092$ (n=21) $yr^{-1}$ and $5.2{\pm}0.6%$, respectively within a confidence interval of 95%. According to the model results, about 50% of HFC-134a would be emitted from the MAC during the 10 years operation of passenger cars. On the other hand, average remaining portion of HFC-134a in the MACs of scrap cars is $58.2{\pm}4.8%$ (n=50) within a confidence interval of 95%, suggesting that over 40% of the initially charged amount could be released fugitively after disposal provided that the HFC-134a would not be properly treated or recycled.
