함정 적외선 신호 감소를 위한 폐기관의 디퓨져 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Diffuser Design of Exhaust Pipes for the Infra-Red Signature Reduction of Naval Ship)

  • 현대의 함정에서는 추진 기관에서 생성된 고온의 폐기가스와 가열된 폐기관의 금속표면온도를 저감하기 위해 적외선 신호저감 장치(Infra-red Signature Suppression system, IRSS)를 설치하고 있다. 국내 함정에 탑재된 일반적인 IRSS는 이덕터, 믹싱튜브 그리고 디퓨져로 구성되며, 이 중 디퓨져는 금속표면에 내기 외기의 압력차에 의한 공기 막을 생성시켜 온도를 저감시키는 역할을 한다. 본 연구에서는 국외 선진 기술사에서 설계한 IRSS의 디퓨져 형상을 분석하여 설계 변수를 선정하였으며, 분석 조건을 줄이면서 설계 변수의 특성을 효과적으로 파악 할 수 있는 다구치 실험계획법을 통해 IRSS 디퓨져의 성능에 영향을 미치는 설계 변수의 특성을 검토하였다. 디퓨져의 성능분석에는 선행 연구에서 정립한 열 유동해석 기술을 활용하였다. IRSS의 성능평가에는 함정 적외선 신호의 세기와 직접적으로 관련되는 디퓨져 출구에서의 폐기가스 온도와 금속표면온도의 면적평균 값을 기준으로 하였으며, 폐기가스의 온도는 디퓨져 출구의 직경 변화에 크게 영향을 받고, 디퓨져 금속표면의 온도는 디퓨져 링의 개수 변화에 크게 영향 받음을 확인하였다.

  • This paper is an investigation of the performance of absorption diffusers to suppress the vent noise emitted when high pressure gas is throttled. First, experiment for the static performance is carried out. When there is no through-flow, the insertion loss has been obtained in terms of 1/3 octave band spectrum and the effect of the number of diffusers and the thickness of the absorption material on the static performance has been obtained. And the similarity in the spectrum of the static insertion loss is confirmed by comparing two similar models with different size. Second, the dynamic performance has been obtained by experiment using blow-down of compressed air from a storage tank through an orifice of diameter 10 mm. The back pressure by the diffuser is measured and compared with that of a single diffuser. It is found that the insertion loss of asingle diffuser is very low around 3 dB at high frequencies with negative value at low frequencies. By absorption material between the diffuser tubes, however, the performance is increased considerably. Without flow the static insertion loss increases by 3 - 4 dB by doubling the thickness or the density of the absorptionmaterial. With flow, however, the dynamic insertion loss increases. While, the back pressure by the diffuser is small enough to be neglected.

디퓨져와 노즐을 이용한 열공압형 마이크로 펌프의 열공압 및 유동특성에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (A Numerical Study on the Thermopneumatic and Flow Characteristics of Diffuser-Nozzle Based Thermopneumatic Micropumps)

  • This study has been conducted to investigate the thermopneumatic and flow characteristics of diffuser/nozzle based thermopneumatic micropumps. In this study, a transient three-dimensional numerical analysis using FSI (Fluid-Structure Interaction) model has been employed to analyze the effects of the interaction between the membrane and two fluids (air and water) in the thermopneumtic micropump. The transient temperature and pressure in the cavity, the transient displacements of the membrane and the net flow rate of the micropump have been closely calculated for the frequency of 1 Hz. It has been found that the difference of the flow rates at the inlet and outlet is larger in the cooling period than in the heating period and that the duty ratio is very important in association with pump performance because the temperature in the cavity ascends drastically in the heating period and descends slowly in the cooling period. This study can be regarded as fundamental understandings for the design and analysis of thermopneumatic micropumps.

실험실 공기질 개선을 위한 라인디퓨져의 특성 평가 (Characteristic Evaluation of Line Diffusers for Air Quality Improvement of Laboratory)

  • This study is aimed at suggesting a linear-type diffuser which is excellent in terms of range and elegance like existing diffusers in which amount and direction of wind can be freely controled, out of linear-type diffusers with the highest possibility to be adopted for living space of apartments whose height between floors is not so high and utilizing the linear-type diffuser in design. For the purpose, I examined necessary flow and noise properties of linear-type diffusers. Besides, I evaluated its ventilation capacity for persons in there by applying this in the actual living space. I evaluated features and air blast and found that in time of horizontal and vertical effusion, its T/L ratio is 1-1.5, similar to existing cardioid-type linear diffusers, while in time of slope effusion, it is similar to horizontal effusion in terms of range and it has medium figure in terms of pressure drop and effusion speed, indicating it can provide safe and pleasant indoor environment for persons in there in terms of ventilation.

하수처리시설의 Retrofitting을 위한 파일럿 규모 공기부상공정 연구 (A Pilot Study on Air Flotation Processes for Retrofitting of Conventional Wastewater Treatment Facilities)

  • The pilot study was conducted to evaluate the applicability of air flotation(AF) processes combined with biological nutrient removal(BNR) for the retrofitting of conventional wastewater treatment facilities. The BNR system was operated in pre-denitrification and intermittent aeration; developed ceramic membrane diffusers were installed to separate the solid-liquid of activated sludge at the bottom of a flotation tank. Before performing a pilot scale study, the size distribution of microbubbles generated by silica or alumina-based ceramic membrane diffusers was tested to identify the ability of solid-liquid separation. According to the experimental results, the separation and thickening efficiency of the alumina-based ceramic membrane diffuser was higher than the silica-based ceramic membrane diffuser. In a $100m^3/d$ pilot plant, thickened and return sludge concentration was measured to be higher than 15,000mg SS/L, therefore, the MLSS in the bioreactor was maintained at over 3,000mg SS/L. The effluent quality of the AF-BNR process was 4.2mg/L, 3.7mg/L, 10.6mg/L and 1.6mg/L for $BOD_5$, SS, T-N and T-P, respectively. Lastly, it was revealed that the unit treatment cost by flotation process is lower than about $1won/m^3$ compared to a gravity sedimentation process.

  • Despite the fact that UFAD (Under Floor Air Distribution) systems have many benefits and are being applied in the field in increasing numbers, there is a strong need for an improved fundamental understanding of several key performance features of these systems. This study numerically investigates the effect of design parameters on the performance of UFAD, especially focused on thermal comfort. The design parameters considered in this study include supplied air temperature, supplied flow rate, diffuser shape, swirl, diffuser location, and floor-to-floor height. Also this study has compared UFAD with over head system, on the point of thermal comfort by evaluating PMV using radiative mean temperature, which shows how inadequate the evaluation of thermal comfort can be when radiation is neglected. Until now, the radiative temperature has been the missing link between CFD and thermal comfort, but the present study paves the way for overcoming this weakness.

  • 본 논문은 기체-액체 이젝터의 수치해석연구에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 이젝터는 구동유체가 노즐을 통해 고속으로 분출될 때, 구동노즐 출구 주변에 진공압이 형성되어 주변의 기체와 운동량 교환을 통하여 저압의 유체를 보다 높은 압력으로 압축하여 수송하는 장치이다. 기체-액체 이젝터는 상용 소프트웨어 ANSYS-CFX 14.0을 사용하여 다상의 CFD 분석을 통해 연구한다. 구동유체는 물을 사용하여 구동되며, 실제로는 공기가 아닌 오존을 사용하여 배출 된다. 기체-액체 이젝터의 디퓨저의 형상에 따라 성능 차이를 비교한다. 결과 기체-액체 이젝터의 성능에 미치는 다양한 요인을 제공 한다. 그리고 제안 된 수치 모델은 기체-액체 이젝터의의 최적 설계에 매우 도움이 될 것다.

자오면 고정 형상에서 사류펌프 임펠러 및 디퓨져 날개형상 설계 (Blade Shape Design of Mixed-flow Pump Impellers and Diffusers in a Fixed Meridional Geometry)

  • In this paper, the flow characteristics of the mixed-flow pump impellers and diffusers were numerically predicted by commercial CFD software and DOE(design of experiments). We also discussed how to improve the performance of the mixed-flow pump by designing the impeller and diffuser in the mixed-flow pump. Geometric design variables were defined by the vane plane development which indicates the blade-angle distributions and length of the impeller and the diffusers. Firstly, the design optimization of the defined impeller geometric variables has been done. After that, the flow characteristics were analyzed in the point of incidence angle at the diffuser leading edge for the optimized impeller. Then design of the defined diffuser shape variables has been performed. The reason for the performance improvement was discussed by examining the flow characteristics through the diffuser.

  • The diffuser noise of HVAC(heating ventilating and air-conditioning) uses dB(A) or NC as a indoor noise criteria that ASHRAE represents, and there is no specific guide line for application. According to the previous study, there are some problems like that even though the sound level of sound source is same, the NC shows different values, which makes the noise rating confused. This problem is caused by the frequency characteristics of sound source and its sound level. Therefore, appropriate evaluation method should be considered based on the subjective responses. This study aims to analyze the physical parameters appropriate for the evaluation of HVAC diffuser noise. To achieve this, recording of sound sources, calculation of physical parameters and psycho-acoustic experiment were carried out and the results were derived from the correlation analysis between physical parameters and subjective evaluatio

자원회수시설용 폐기물 벙커의 환기설비설계 개선에 관한 연구 (Improvement of the Ventilation Equipment in a Waste Bunker For a Municipal Waste Incinerator)

  • The waste bunker usually consists of waste entrance zone and waste pit. In this paper, the distributions of air flow, $NH_3$ concentration and $H_2S$ concentration in a waste bunker were investigated to prevent an odor generated in a waste pit from dispersing to the waste entrance zone by numerical method. Four cases were considered such that 1) the waste incinerators is operated, 2) the waste incinerators is stopped, 3) the waste incinerator is operated and the direction of a supply diffuser is $45^{\circ}$ upward, 4) the waste incinerator is stopped and the direction of a supply diffuser is $45^{\circ}$ upward. In case of 1), the fresh air from the waste entrance zone is exhausted smoothly to the main exhaust grill of the waste pit. It means that an odor dispersion to the waste entrance zone will not occur. However in case of 2), the induction of fresh air is so small and the supply air with an odor in waste pit can flow to the waste entrance zone. Therefore, an odor will be dispersed to the waste entrance zone. This paper shows the solution that the supply diffuser with the direction of $45^{\circ}$ upward is chosen. As a result in case of 3) and 4), an odor dispersion to the waste entrance zone does not occurred and on odor is exhausted smoothly to the auxiliary exhaust grill.
