This work describes identification of essential considerations when we develop OMS/MP for the shipboard weapon systems. It is compulsory to develop OMS/MP which describes quantity of what mode to have and how often to operate. In this point of view, relationships between OMS/MP and shipboard weapon systems are analyzed. From the analysis, considerations of OMS/MP development for the weapon systems are presented.
A practical range estimator based on the robust Kalman filter is proposed to solve the range estimation problem for surface to air missile(SAM) homing guidance. Apart from the previous works based on the extended Kalman filter(EKF) with bearing only measurement, the proposed scheme makes use of line-of-sight(LOS) rate to ensure the fast convergency at long-range. In this reason, the robust Kalman filter is considered to deal with LOS rate measurement error. The recursive linear structure of proposed filter is easy to implement and make it possible to reduce computational burdens. Moreover, it shows good estimation performance without specific guidance law such as oscillation proportional navigation guidance(OPNG).

One of serious security threats is a botnet-based attack. A botnet in general consists of numerous bots, which are computing devices with networking function, such as personal computers, smartphones, or tiny IoT sensor devices compromised by malicious codes or attackers. Such botnets can launch various serious cyber-attacks like DDoS attacks, propagating mal-wares, and spreading spam e-mails over the network. To establish a botnet, attackers usually inject malicious URLs into web source codes stealthily by using data hiding methods like Javascript obfuscation techniques to avoid being discovered by traditional security systems such as Firewall, IPS(Intrusion Prevention System) or IDS(Intrusion Detection System). Meanwhile, it is non-trivial work in practice for software developers to manually find such malicious URLs which are hidden in numerous web source codes stored in web servers. In this paper, we propose a security defense system to discover such suspicious, malicious URLs hidden in web source codes, and present experiment results that show its discovery performance. In particular, based on our experiment results, our proposed system discovered 100% of URLs hidden by Javascript encoding obfuscation within sample web source files.
This paper describes a development of aircraft carrier aviation support system architecture using DoDAF. The aircraft carrier, a warship performing a role of mobile sea air base in offensive and defense mission, is super system that is comprised of carrier itself and carrier-based airwing. Performing critical role in step with aviation operations in carrier-airwing interactions, the aviation support system of aircraft carrier is also system of systems. It requires a complex and integrated approach based on systems engineering in establishing concept of this complex systems. In this view, this study establishes an operational scenario and derives operational requirements by identifying aviation operations environment on deck of aircraft carrier. The study presents the operational architecture of the carrier aviation support system by using DoDAF and CASE tool CORE.
In M&S, radar model is a software module to identify position data of simulation objects. In this paper, we propose a radar performance model for simulations of air defenses. The previous radar simulations are complicated and difficult to model and implement since radar systems in real world themselves require a lot of considerations and computation time. Moreover, the previous radar simulations completely depended on radar equations in academic fields; therefore, there are differences between data from radar equations and data from real world in mission level analyses. In order to solve these problems, we firstly define functionality of radar systems for air defense. Then, we design and implement the radar performance model that is a simple model and deals with being independent from the radar equations in engineering levels of M&S. With our radar performance model, we focus on analyses of missions in our missile model and being operated in measured data in real world in order to make sure of reliability of our mission analysis as much as it is possible. In this paper, we have conducted case studies, and we identified the practicality of our radar performance model.
The Army, Navy, and Air Force are currently making various efforts to apply defense IoT technology by reflecting the characteristics of each military. However, there are concerns that comprehensive collection, management, and analysis may be limited because each military has no overlapping system or guaranteed interoperability of data, and there are inefficient aspects in terms of using and investing a limited defense budget. In this study, evaluation items and priorities for pilot projects were selected by applying Delphi technique and AHP method to determine which projects are preferentially effective when commonly applied in terms of Army, Navy, and Air force. As a result of the analysis, the project basis and driving force, project feasibility, performance and ripple effect, redundancy and connection were identified in the order of IoT-based small detachment units and unmanned base construction, intelligent smart unit, smart ground ammunition depot, and smart training management system. According to the comprehensive results reflecting the weights of each evaluation item, the fact that small detachment units and unmanned base construction project are recognized as the first project to be applied to the Army, Navy, and Air Force is a valid approach to be effective while each military is burdened with personnel management because of the reduction of manpower. Through the research results, it is expected that the direction of application to the policy of the defense IoT project can be confirmed in terms of efficient use of limited budgets.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have been considered as valuable aerial reconnaissance systems and our army wants capability-enhanced UAVs installed in our territory, hoping that the UAVs will provide enemy information in detail. The enemy information acqcuired by UAVs would be shared by our army's legacy systems. In this article, we made a research on the interoperability between UAVs and Ground Fighting Vehicles (GFVs), laying emphasis on what kinds of tactical information could be exchanged by two different weapon systems. Also, it needs to be addressed that their upper-level commanding systems play a significant role in such operation.
An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is a powered pilotless aircraft, which is controlled remotely or autonomously. UAVs are an attractive alternative for many scientific and military organizations. UAVs can perform operations that are considered to be risky or uninhabitable for human. UA V s are currently employed in many military missions such as reconnaissance, surveillance, enemy radar jamming, decoying, suppression of enemy air defense (SEAD), fixed and moving target attack, and air-to-air combat. UAVs also are employed in a number of civilian applications such as monitoring ozone depletion, inclement weather, traffic congestion, and taking images of dangerous territory. For accomplishing the UAV's missions, guarantee of survivability should be preceded. The main objective of this study is to suggest a mathematical programming model and a $A^*PS$-PGA (A-star with Post Smoothing-Parallel Genetic Algorithm) for an UAV's path planning to maximize survivability. A mathematical programming model is composed by using MRPP (Most Reliable Path Problem) and TSP (Traveling Salesman Problem). A path planning algorithm for UAV is applied by transforming MRPP into SPP (Shortest Path Problem).
세계적으로 ICT(Information & Communication Technology)를 통한 비용절감 및 업무혁신이 이루어지면서 클라우드 컴퓨팅(이하 클라우드) 시장이 급성장하고 있다. IaaS(Infrastructure as a Service)

For over half a century, the United States (US) and its coalition military aircrafts have been using Ultra High Frequency (UHF) band analog modulation (AM) radios in ground-to-air communication and short-range air-to-air communications. Evolving from this, since 2007, the US military and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) adopted HAVE QUICK to be used by almost all aircrafts, because it had been revealed that intercepting and jamming of former aircraft communication signals was possible, which placed a serious threat to defense systems. The second-generation Anti-jam Tactical UHF Radio for NATO (SATURN) was developed to replace HAVE QUICK systems by 2023. The NATO Standardization Agreement (STANAG) 4372 is a classified document that defines the SATURN technical and operational specifications. In preparation of this future upgrade to SATURN systems, in this paper, the SATURN technical and operational specifications are reviewed, and the network synchronization, frequency hopping, and communication setup parameters that are controlled by the Network (NET) Time, Time Of Day (TOD), Word Of Day (WOD), and Multiple Word of Day (MWOD) are described in addition to SATURN Edition 3 (ED3) and future Edition 4 (ED4) basic features. In addition, an anti-jamming performance analysis (in reference to partial band jamming and pulse jamming) and the time delay queueing model analysis are conducted based on a SATURN transmitter and receiver assumed model.
