This result showed that the middle school students' response for the environment condition was highly negative. The major findings of this study are as follows. 1. Students would become to know the environmental pollution through reading of newspapers and TV rather than school education. 2. Students' response for air and water pollution was seriously accepted in city areas than in country areas, and in large cities than in small cities. 3. Students' response for air pollution showed that the quality of air was getting worse and major factor of air pollution was the exhausts of automobiles. 4. It showed that students' concern for water pollution was increased and water pollution was being accelerated by the increase of domestic and industrial sewages, the overuse of the agricultural chemicals, the entrophication and acid rain. 5. Students thought that soil pollution was mainly due to factory sewage, life sewage, heavy metal and agricultural medicines and so on. But now they think it is due to the degenerated and inseparable things such as used vinyle for farm and plastics. 6. Most students thought of the pollution of our country as serious. But they thought it could be removed if we tried to get rid of pollution. 7. Now students' consciousness to protect the nature took an active interest turn and was strong. Putting these various findings together, I suggested that, the efforts to turn students affirmative consciousness for the environment and a powerful plan by the nation to take off pollution should be needed. Also the education to enforce the environment preservation had to be needed.
A flotation process has a shorter processing time and needs less space than a sedimentation process. Dissolved air flotation process (DAF) is an efficient flotation method and used in a conventional wastewater treatment process. However, DAF requires the circulation of water containing compressed air and requires expensive installation and operation cost. Plasma Air Flotation (PAF) process is able to float flocs by micro bubbles generated from underwater plasma without the circulation of bubbly water and additional saturators. Therefore, PAF can be an alternative solution overcoming economic barriers. In this study, Humic acid removal efficiency by PAF process was compared with that of sedimentation process. 44.67% and 87.3% reduction rate based on UV 254 absorbance has been measured in sedimentation and PAF respectively. In particular, PAF in the flocculation zone can dramatically remove humic acid from water. In flocculation zone, PAF can separate organic matters but sedimentation cannot.
A solar air heating has low efficiency compared with the solar water heating because the heat capacity of the air is small. The heat received by solar collector plate is not fully transferred to the air and then a part of them became the losses to the environment through conduction and convection process. This research is focusing on a design of better combined multi-purposed system suggested by us and aims to secure the more efficient solar energy utilization by combining the hot water and air heating system. The result in this paper has shown that the proposed design has better thermal performance than that of the common design. Furthermore, it was found that the performance of the combined air - water heating system increases the efficiency from 30% to 35%-40%.
Busan subway transportation system has been established a key role in the society last 20 years. However many people are suffering from hot and humid environment at subway station and platform due to deteriorated ventilation system as well as insufficient air conditioning system in existing stations and platforms. As a result, these systems require revitalization. There is about 5400tons of low temperature underground water is generated from subway stations every day. By using this method and air washer we are trying to lower the temperature. Air washer is commonly used for removing humidity but in this experiment it will be used as air precooling. This research offers result of experiment using air washer system to lower the temperature in large spaces like subway station. The experiment result has shown when L/G was the same, at condition which water spray temperature at $18^{\circ}C$ resulting inlet and outlet temperature difference larger. Also, in the same water spray temperature conditions, larger L/G condition showed a greater temperature difference. LCC evaluation of both system were shown that air washer system of using underground water will save 53% of the initial cost than refrigeration system, and save 75% of operating cost.
Aerosol formation and growth by water vapor reactions were investigated in a 2.5 -㎥ indoor smog chamber filled with the unfiltered ambient air. The relative humidity of test ambient air was elevated at 59~64% or 84~88% by adding water vapor. The aerosol number size distribution and the concentrations of $O_3$, NO, NO$_2$, and SO$_2$ were measured during the experiments. The $O_3$ and NO$_2$ gases were well reacted with the water vapor at high relative humidity of 84~88%, and the reaction rates of these gases seemed to be decreased at low relative humidity of 59~64%. The formation and condensational growth phenomena of ambient aerosols by water vapor reactions were observed in a Teflon bag, depending strongly on the initial particle size distribution. The water vapor reactions might be affected by the contents of oxidants produced by photochemical reactions under sunlight.
Regenerative evaporative cooling is known as an environment-friendly and energy efficient cooling method. A regenerative evaporative cooler (REC) consisting of dry and wet channels is able to cool down the air stream below the inlet wet-bulb temperature. In the regenerative evaporative cooler, the cooling effect is achieved by redirecting a portion of the air flown out of the dry channel into the wet channel and spraying water onto the redirected air. In this study, a horizontal regenerative cooler is considered. In the horizontal regenerative cooler, the flow direction of evaporating water has a right angle to the flow direction of supply air. This difference was investigated with visualization technique and simplified 2-module performance test was done in a thermo-environment chamber. Optimum design configuration is changed due to the wet channel which are easily fully covered with evaporating water and block the air flow inside the channel. Applying the optimized fin configuration design with the highly wetting surface treatment, a regenerative evaporative cooler was fabricated and tested to Identify the cooling performance improvement and operation characteristics. From the experimental results at the intake condition of $32^{\circ}C$ and 50% RH, the supply temperature was measured to be around $23.4^{\circ}C$. The cooling effectiveness based on the inlet dewpoint temperature was evaluated 73% which is almost close to the design expectation.
The cave is similar to living things, because of keeping on changing. The environment in the cave after developing it change because many factors as followings; The microbes and the mosses by visitors and inner facilities will grow in the cave, which makes the ecology a lot of change. The quality of water and air in the cave can lead to the destruction of the ecology by the development. So we do our best to conservate the cave without changing the environment of air, the water and the ground.

Surface water temperature of a bay (from the south to the north) increases in spring and summer, but decreases in autumn and winter. Due to shallow water depth, freshwater outflow, and weak current, the water temperature in the central to northern part of the bay is greatly affected by the land coast and air temperature, with large fluctuations. Water temperature variations are large in the north-east coast of the bay, but small in the south-west coast. The difference between water temperature and air temperature is greater in winter and in the south-central part of the bay than that in the north to the eastern coast of the bay where sea dykes are located. As the bay goes from south to north, the range of water temperature fluctuation and the phase show increases. When fresh water is released from the sea dike, the surrounding water temperature decreases and then rises, or rises and then falls. The first mode of empirical orthogonal function (EOF) represents seasonal variation of water temperature. The second mode represents the variability of water temperature gradient in east-west and north-south directions of the bay. In the first mode, the maximum and the minimum are shown in autumn and summer, respectively, consistent with seasonal distribution of surface water temperature variance. In the second mode, phases of the coast of Seosan~Boryeong and the east coast of Anmyeon Island are opposite to each other, bordering the center of the deep bay. Periodic fluctuation of the first mode time coefficient dominates in the one-day and half-day cycle. Its daily fluctuation pattern is similar to air temperature variation. Sea conditions and topographical characteristics excluding air temperature are factors contributing to the variation of the second mode time coefficient.
The effective thermal conductivity of porous materials is usually determined by porosity, water content, and the conductivity of the matrix. In addition, it is also affected by the internal structure of the materials such as the size, arrangement, and connectivity of the matrix-forming grains. Based on the structural models for multi-phase materials, thermal conductivities of soils and sands measured with varying the water content were analyzed. Thermal conductivities of dry samples were likely to fall in the region between the Maxwell-Eucken model with air as the continuous phase and the matrix as the dispersed phase ($ME_{air}$) and the co-continuous (CC) model. However, water-saturated samples moved down to the region between the $ME_{wat}$ model and the series model. The predictive inconsistency of the structural models for dry and water-saturated samples may be caused by the increase of porosity for water-saturated samples, which leads to decrease of connectivity among the grains of matrix. In cases of variably saturated samples with a uniform grain size, the thermal conductivity showed progressive changes of the structural models from the $ME_{air}$ model to the $ME_{wat}$ model depending on the water content. Especially, an abrupt increase found in 0-20% of the water content, showing transition from the $ME_{air}$ model to the CC model, can be attributed to change of water from the dispersed to continuous phase. On the contrary, the undisturbed soil samples with various sizes of grains showed a gradual increase of conductivity during the transition from the $ME_{air}$ model to the CC model.
