Air abrasion 기술을 이용한 유치 및 영구치의 수복 (TREATMENT OF PRIMARY AND PERMANENT TEETH WITH THE AIR-ABRASIVE TECHNOLOGY)

  • Air-abrasion 기술은 입자의 운동에너지를 이용하여 비기계적인 방법으로 치아를 처리하거나 치아표면에 존재하는 착색이나 치석을 제거하는 방법으로서, 환자의 불안이나 불편감을 증가시킬 수 있는 압력, 진동이나 열의 발생이 적고 건전한 치질의 보존이 용이하며 특히 소아환자에서 마취의 필요성을 감소시키고 시술부위에서의 타액오염을 가능성을 줄여주고 건조한 시술부위 유지에 용이하고 수복재의 결합력을 증가시켜주는 등의 여러 장점을 지니고 있어, 복합레진을 위한 와동형성, 열구전색을 위한 치아형성, 산 부식 대신 또는 산부식전 치아표면의 처리, 초기 우식증의 진단 등에 이용될 수 있다. 본 증례는 유중절치의 인접면 우식치료, 유구치의 교합면 우식치료, 제1대구치의 우식치료 및 우식 예방을 air abrasion 기술을 사용하여 수복한 바, 환자의 행동조절 및 시술부위의 완전한 건조가 어려운 소아환자에게 있어 임상적으로 유용하다고 여겨지며 양호한 결과를 얻었기에 보고하는 바이다.

Micro-AAJ를 이용한 엔진 피스톤 링의 마찰 저감 표면 개발 (Development of Engine Piston Ring Surface for Friction Reduction using Micro Abrasive Air Jet)

  • In this paper, we report a new manufacturing method for friction reduction using micro-AAJ (abrasive air-jet) machining. AAJ machining employs compressed air to accelerate a jet of high-speed particles to mechanically machine features, including micro-channels and micro-holes, into glass, metal, or polymer substrates for use in microfluidics, MEMS (micro electromechanical systems). And we introduce the micro-AAJ machining system, which consists of a micro-AAJ nozzle and a five-axis positioning system. Various micro-AAJ nozzles can be used, depending on the required surface structure, and three-dimensional machining is possible. We machined samples under six different conditions and describe machining results obtained while using it. We also measured the coefficient of friction of micro-textured surfaces. We report the coefficient of friction of micro-textured surfaces patterned using micro-AAJ machining for engine piston ring.

  • In recent years abrasive water jet (AWJ) has received significant attention as a technology used in the manufacturing industry for cutting materials. In this paper we report the development of a new preparation method of abrasives for water jet by using an air bubbling sedimentation rate control technique. The SiC abrasives prepared by an air bubbling sedimentation rate control technique using latex resin are found to be superior to the conventional abrasives not only in surface roughness uniformity but also in lifetime. The AWJ test results also show that the former has also better impact-resistance and wear-resistance than the latter.

Fretting Wear Mechanisms of Zircaloy-4 and Inconel 600 Contact in Air

  • The fretting wear behavior of the contact between Zircaloy-4 tube and Inconel 600, which are used as the fuel rod cladding and grid, respectively, in PWR nuclear power plants was investigated in air. In the study, number of cycles, slip amplitude and normal load were selected as the main factors of fretting wear. The results indicated that wear increased with load, slip amplitude and number of cycles but was affected mainly by the slip amplitude. SEM micrographs revealed the characteristics of fretting wear features on the surface of the specimens such as stick, partial slip and gross slip which depended on the slip amplitude. It was found that fretting wear was caused by the crack generation along the stick-slip boundaries due to the accumulation of plastic flow at small slip amplitudes and by abrasive wear in the entire contact area at high slip amplitudes.

Synthesis of Ceria Nanosphere by Ultrasonic Spray Pyrolysis

  • Nanocrystalline ceria particles were prepared by using the ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method. The prepared ceria particles were found to be spherical and non-agglomerated by the SEM and TEM analyses. It was found that carrier gas influences the size and morphology. It was found that the air stream of carrier gas results in porous agglomerated structure of ceria abrasives, whereas solid nano-sphere can be obtained in a more oxidizing atmosphere.

  • As an effective means to convey crushed materials from seabed to on board ship and to raise hazardous or abrasive liquids air-lift pump provides a reliable mechanism due to its simple config-uration and easy-to-operate principle. The present study is focused on fundamental investigation of related performance by the analysis program based on the gas-liquid two-phase flow in circular pipes. The program covers pump operating in isothermal and vertical two-phase flow with Newto-nian liquids. it is summarized as important result that an optimum air mass flow rate exists for the maximum lifted liquid mass flow rate in terms of a given submergence rates and furthermore attachment of downcomer gives little effects on riser performance the conveyed liquid flow rate increases with larger submergence rate.

  • Ultrasonic machining is effective for machining of extreme hard and brittle materials, including glass, ceramic, carbide, graphite. The major machining principle involves the direct hammering as well as the impact of abrasive panicles on the workpiece. Also, it involve cavitation erosion. The general workpiece is flat side. This study attempted micro hole machining of a curved surface of glass tube. Ultrasonic machining is fault of the slow machining speed. An experiment does and got 16 seconds validity machining time as increasing the processing speed. Moreover, entrance crack and surface roughness was similar both machining speed is slow and fast. Several micro hole of glass tube machined using one micro tool, but tool wear is infinitesimal.

Sliding Wear of Alumina-silicon Carbide Nanocomposites

  • Alumina-based nanocomposites have improved mechanical properties such as hardness, fracture toughness and fracture strength compared to monolithic ceramics. In this study, alumina with 5 vol% of nanosized SiC was sintered by a hot pressing technique at 1600$\^{C}$, 30 MPa for 1h in an argon gas atmosphere. Microstructures and mechanical properties in alumina-SiC nanocomposite were investigated. Moreover, tribological properties in air and water were compared each other. Relationships of wear properties with mechanical properties such as hardness, strength, and fracture toughness as well as microstructure were studied. Based on experimental results it was found that nanosized SiC retarded grain growth of matrix alumina. Mechanical properties such as hardness, fracture toughness and strength were improved by the addition of nanosized SiC in alumina. Improved mechanical properties resulted in increased sliding wear resistance. Tribological behavior of nanocomposites in water seemed to be governed by abrasive wear.

법랑질 표면처리방법에 따른 치면열구전색재의 미세누출에 관한 비교연구 (A STUDY ON MICROLEAKAGE OF PIT AND FISSURE SEALANT AFTER ENAMEL SURFACE TREATMENT)

  • 최근 air-abrasion기술이 새로운 법랑질 표면처리법으로 소개되고 있는데, 이것이 산부식 처리한 것보다 치면열구전색 전처리에 있어 더 나은 결과를 보이는지 연구할 목적으로, 저자들은 표면처리법 및 재료에 따른 미세누출도의 차이를 비교해 보고자 하였다. 9개의 군으로 나눈 시편치아에 산부식(1, 4, 7군), air-abrasion(2, 5, 8군), air-abrasion 후 산부식 (3, 6, 9군) 처리한 후 3종의 치면열구전색재($1\sim3$군 Teethmate-F, $4\sim6$군 Ultraseal XT plus, $7\sim9$군 : DenSeal)로 전색, 중합하여 색소침투도를 관찰하였으며, 각 시편의 전색재를 분리, 주사전자현미경으로 관찰하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 표면처리법에 따른 미세누출도는 air-abrasion군, 산부식군, air-abrasion 후 산부식군 순으로 작아졌다(p<0.05). 단, 7군과 9군간의 유의차는 없었다. 2. 미세누출도는 산부식군에서 7군 4군 1군 air-abrasion군에서 8군 5군 2군, air-abrasion후 산부식군에서 9군, 3군, 6군 순으로 작아졌으나, 각각 4군과 7군, 2군과 5군, 3군과 6군간의 유의차는 없었다. 3. SEM상에서, 산부식군은 비교적 긴 레진돌기가 규칙적으로, air-abrasion군은 짧은 레진돌기가 불규칙적으로, air-abrasion 후 산부식군에서는 이들이 혼재되어 있는 모습으로 관찰되었다.
