Optimal Placement of CRNs in Manned/Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Cooperative Engagement System

  • Aiming at the optimal placement of communication relay nodes (OPCRN) problem in manned/unmanned aerial vehicle cooperative engagement system, this paper designed a kind of fully connected broadband backbone communication topology. Firstly, problem description of OPCRN was given. Secondly, based on problem analysis, the element attributes and decision variables were defined, and a bi-level programming model including physical layer and logical layer was established. Thirdly, a hierarchical artificial bee colony (HABC) algorithm was adopted to solve the model. Finally, multiple sets of simulation experiments were carried out to prove the effectiveness and superiority of the algorithm.

A-SMGCS 개발에 따른 적정성 평가와 검증방법에 관한 연구 (A Verification & Validation Methodology Study on the Development of A-SMGCS)

  • In this paper, we states the verification and validation methodology for the modular system of A-SMGCS which defined in the ICAO Manual on Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control Systems. Such systems aim to maintain the declared surface movement rate under all weather conditions while maintaining the required level of safety. With the complete concept of an A-SMGCS, air traffic controllers, vehicle drivers, flight crews, and are assisted with surface operations in terms of surveillance, control, routing/planning and guidance tasks. A-SMGCS verification and validation for the development of Real Time Simulation, shadow mode trials, operational trials are conducted through three methods. In this study, the characteristics and the need for such a verification method was examined.

PGA: An Efficient Adaptive Traffic Signal Timing Optimization Scheme Using Actor-Critic Reinforcement Learning Algorithm

  • Advanced traffic signal timing method plays very important role in reducing road congestion and air pollution. Reinforcement learning is considered as superior approach to build traffic light timing scheme by many recent studies. It fulfills real adaptive control by the means of taking real-time traffic information as state, and adjusting traffic light scheme as action. However, existing works behave inefficient in complex intersections and they are lack of feasibility because most of them adopt traffic light scheme whose phase sequence is flexible. To address these issues, a novel adaptive traffic signal timing scheme is proposed. It's based on actor-critic reinforcement learning algorithm, and advanced techniques proximal policy optimization and generalized advantage estimation are integrated. In particular, a new kind of reward function and a simplified form of state representation are carefully defined, and they facilitate to improve the learning efficiency and reduce the computational complexity, respectively. Meanwhile, a fixed phase sequence signal scheme is derived, and constraint on the variations of successive phase durations is introduced, which enhances its feasibility and robustness in field applications. The proposed scheme is verified through field-data-based experiments in both medium and high traffic density scenarios. Simulation results exhibit remarkable improvement in traffic performance as well as the learning efficiency comparing with the existing reinforcement learning-based methods such as 3DQN and DDQN.

시뮬레이션을 활용한 ADS-B와 TCAS의 탐지 성능 비교 (Detection Performance Comparison of ADS-B and TCAS Using Simulation)

  • TCAS (traffic alert and collision avoidance system)의 성능 향상을 위해서는 각종정보를 송신해주는 센서의 성능이 향상되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 성능향상을 위해 기존에 사용 중인 레이더와 같은 센서를 대신하여 차세대 항공관제시스템인 ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast)를 적용하였다. 또한 ADS-B에서 초정밀 GPS (global positioning system) 보정시스템인 SBAS (satellite based augmentation system)의 정보를 사용하여 향상된 위치정확도를 TCAS에 적용할 수 있을 것이라 가정하고 TCAS와 ADS-B를 분석하였다. 시뮬레이션을 해본 결과, 이러한 ADS-B의 도움을 받는 TCAS 장비는 사전에 항공기의 위치를 파악하여 CPA (closest ponit of approach)를 계산할 수 있고 불필요한 RA (resolution advisory) 동작을 감소시킬 수 있다는 것이 확인되었고, 또한 조종사의 업무로드 감소와 불필요한 RA동작이 줄어듦에 따른 연료소비나 시간 등에 대한 장점이 있음이 확인되었다.

지능을 이용한 자동차 좌석 자동조정 (Automatic Control for Car Seat using Intelligence)

  • 교통사고를 예방하기 위해서는 시트조정을 통해서 운전자의 시야를 확보하고, 운전자가 뒤에 오는 자동차를 알아 볼 수 있도록 룸미러의 위치를 조정하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서, 안전하고 편리한 차량을 목표로 운전자가 차량에 앉게 되면, 자동으로 시트를 조정하여 운전자의 시야를 확보 할 수 있도록 한다. 또한 백미러를 자동 조정해서, 운전자가 안전운전에 도움이 될 수 있는 자동차 시트 자동 조정 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 특히, 교통사고 발생해서, 에어백이 작동 할 때에 본 논문에서는,승객의 몸무게에 따라서 충격완화를 위한 시트 자동조정 알고리즘을 기능을 추가하였다. 뿐만 아니라, 본 논문에서는, 교통사고 발생 시 운전자가 위험지역을 통과할 때 위험지역임을 운전자에게 통지하여 안전한 운전이 되도록 하는 알고리즘을 개발하였으며, 유비쿼터스 환경에서 모의실험을 하였다. 모의실험 결과 지능을 이용한 교통사고 분석 방식이기존의 방식보다 25% 이상 교통사고를 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다

철도터널 화재시 연결통로 및 대피로 제연을 위한 수치해석 연구 (Numerical Simulation of Smoke Ventilation in Rescue Route and Cross Passage of Railroad Tunnel)

  • A transient 3-D numerical simulation was performed to analyze the fire safety in a railway tunnel equipped with a mechanical ventilation system. The behavior of pollutants was studied for the emergency operation mode of ventilation system in case of fire in the center of the rescue station and near the escape route. Various schemes of escape route construction for connection angle($45^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, 135^{\circ}$) and slope($10^{\circ}$) were evaluated for the ventilation efficiency in the fire near the escape route. From the results, it was shown that the mode of the ventilation fan operation which pressurizes the tunnel not under the fire and ventilates the smoke from the tunnel under the fire is most effective for the smoke control in the tunnel in case of the fire occurrence. It was also shown that the blowing of jet fan from the rescue tunnel to the main tunnel should be in the same direction as the flow direction in the main tunnel arising from the traffic and the buoyancy.

  • HLA는 상호 운용성과 재사용성을 목적으로 미국 국방성 산하 기관인 DMSO에서 개발되어진 분산 시스템 프레임워크이다. 이러한 HLA가 민간 부분 적용을 위해 표준이 발표되었고, HLA는 여러 분야의 범용성을 가지기 위해 복잡한 구현 시스템을 가지게 된다. 특히, 객체의 속성변화를 반영하기 위해서는 많은 통신 부하가 발생한다. 이런 단점을 해결하기 위해 제안하였던 객체 관리 모듈을 이용한 항공 교통관제 시뮬레이션을 구현하여 객체 관리 모듈의 성능 및 적용 분야를 평가한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 SDP 시스템이 충족해야 할 요구 규격을 검증하기 위하여 시험 환경 구축 방안을 제안하였다. SDP 시험 환경은 기능/성능/안정성 시험을 수행할 수 있도록 기존 항공관제시스템의 서브 시스템들과 동일한 기능을 수행하는 Simulation System들과 항적 추적 성능을 검증하기 위한 Eurocontrol의 SASS-C와 SMART 시스템으로 구축하였다. 또한 SDP 시험에 있어 Test Case 및 Test Procedure를 구성하여 SDP 요구 규격에 대한 정확한 검증을 수행할 수 있도록 시험 절차를 정의하였다. 제안된 시험 환경 및 시험 절차는 모의 시험을 통해 소프트웨어 구현 과정에서의 시스템 요구 규격에 대한 충족도를 보다 높일 수 있다.

인간-기계 인터페이스 및 증강현실 기술의 항공운항 분야 적용 (Application of Human Machine Interface and Augmented Reality Technology to Flight Operation)

  • The primary objective of this paper is to introduce the application of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies in flight operations. These include: self-check-in, baggage handling, airport security and surveillance, airport operations monitoring, In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC), cockpit design, and cabin crew support. This paper investigates the application status and development trends of HMI and AR technologies for airports and aircraft. These technologies can provide more efficient in-flight passenger service and experience by using AR devices. This paper also discusses the developments such as; the Integrated Control Application (ICA) for the IFEC interface, AR flight simulation training program using the fixed-based simulator, and the AR aircraft cabin interior concept test program. These applications present how HMI and AR techniques can be utilized in actual flight operations. The developed programs in this paper can be applied to their purpose within aircraft interiors and services to enhance efficiency, comfort, and experience.

Dubins 곡선을 이용한 항공기 3자유도 질점 모델의 3차원 경로계획 및 유도 (3-Dimensional Path Planning and Guidance using the Dubins Curve for an 3-DOF Point-mass Aircraft Model)

  • In this paper, we integrate three degree of freedom(3DOF) point-mass model for aircraft and three-dimensional path generation algorithms using dubins curve and nonlinear path tracking law. Through this integration, we apply the path generation algorithm to the path planning, and verify tracking performance and feasibility of using the aircraft 3DOF point-mass model for air traffic management. The accuracy of modeling 6DOF aircraft is more accurate than that of 3DOF model, but the complexity of the calculation would be raised, in turn the rate of computation is more likely to be slow due to the increase of degree of freedom. These obstacles make the 6DOF model difficult to be applied to simulation requiring real-time path planning. Therefore, the 3DOF point-mass model is also sufficient for simulation, and real-time path planning is possible because complexity can be reduced, compared to those of the 6DOF. Dubins curve used for generating the optimal path has advantage of being directly available to apply path planning. However, we use the algorithm which extends 2D path to 3D path since dubins curve handles the two dimensional path problems. Control law for the path tracking uses the nonlinear path tracking laws. Then we present these concomitant simulation results.
