여성농업인 정보화 시범사업 효과 평가 (A Study on the Effect of the Women Farmers Information Project)

  • As the information gap between rural and urban area, and between men and women has been widening, the Rural Development Administration(RDA) has initiated the women farmers information project from 2000. The aims of this project are; 1) to facilitate women farmers' computer and information application in agriculture and income generating activities, and 2) to make them to be leaders to popularize computer application in rural area and agricultural sector. For these, RDA has provided not only PC, software, computer training but also the post support of extension educator to target group. This paper focused on evaluating the effect of the project, clarifying the related variables with the effect, and providing suggestions to enhance the effect. The data were gathered from 310 target women farmers and 166 extension educators in charge of the project all over the country by mailing survey with questionnaire. The main findings of this study were as follows; 1) The level of computer application of the target group was improved drastically, 2) As their self-assessment, they could improve psychological fear on the computer, recognition about information, and attitude to seek information, 3) This project was helpful for them in terms of information gathering and farm(or income generating activities) management, 4) They tried to disseminate the benefit of computer application to neighbors, so that the neighbors' interest in computer and attendance of computer training were improved, 5) Variables such as the computer training hours, the number of interaction with extension educator, formal schooling and farming history were significantly related to the project's effect. To enhance the project's effect the following strategies should be carried out; 1) The period of the computer training course should be standardized and the subjects should attend to the computer training course for the standardized period. 2) Through continuous interaction with the subjects, the extension educator should support them to use computer well and to overcome some difficulties as a beginner. 3) In selecting the subjects, the priority should be given to the person who graduated high school at least. 4) The subjects should focus on using management software, gathering useful information for their business, and selling their products directly to the consumer. 5) So as to enhance the abilities mentioned above, RDA should strengthen learning opportunities through on-line training and providing educational software, besides of existing off-line training.

국민학교 아동들의 속력 개념 형성에서 컴퓨터 인터페이스 활용 효과 (Effect of Using Computer Interface on Learning Speed Concept in the Korean Elementary School)

  • In this study, the researcher tried to find out the effect of using a computer interface in teaching speed concept in the elementary school. The 4th and 5th pupils were sampled for this study. The school is located in a sub-urban agricultural area in Korea. In the study, the subjects were divided into two groups: experimental and comparison group. From the pretest, two groups did not show any difference in the understanding of speed concept. The computer interface and the programs to operate the interface and data analysis were developed by researcher. The interface is a modular type and designed ready to connect to microcomputer. The test items were consisted of (1) comparison of speed, (2) change of motion, (3) acceleration, and (4) deceleration. As the result, the researcher found the following results: 1. In case of speed comparison, no significant difference was found between experimental and comparison group. 2. In case of change of motion, acceleration, and deceleration, the experimental groups showed higher achievement both in 4th grade and 5th grade. However, the 4th graders showed more learning than the 5th graders. In conclusion, this study showed that the use of computer interface seemed to be very effective in teaching and learning speed concept in elementary school.

도심하천유역의 PCBs 농도 분포 (Concentration Distribution of Polychlorinated Biphenyls(PCBs) in Urban Watershed)

  • In this study, we have examined concentration distribution and patterns of PCBs in waters, sediments and soils in an agricultural area of South Korea to investigate the relationship between PCBs sources and concentration levels. The concentration of PCBs in water samples were ranged from lower values below detection limit to 8.25 ug/L and the concentration of PCBs in sediment samples were ranged from lower values below detection limit to 76.67 ug/Kg. The concentration of PCBs in soil samples were ranged from lower values below detection limit to 23.51 ug/Kg. These contamination levels were far below the guideline values suggested for environmental quality assessment. The homologue patterns in samples varied from sample to sample, but isomer patterns were very similar with each other. PCB-138 and PCB-153 were predominant congeners in the soil and sediment, which were similar to the results obtained from previous studies. With these results, the assessment of potential sources of PCBs contamination in the sediments of the Nakdong river basin was performed. The principal components were extracted by Principal Component Analysis(PCA). As the result of PCA, it could be expected that PCBs in samples of this study were more affected by PCB products than combustion processes and mostly affected by already-known sources. The PCBs in the soil and sediment samples were related with commercial PCB products.

난개발 발생원인 분석과 개선방안 (A Reason of Reckless Development and Method of Improvement)

  • Virtues and advantages of urban areas would be tarnished if benefits and convenience of the cities were overwhelmed by the logics of selfish development and reckless expansion. Reckless development, which is not limited to a certain point of time and space, has become a social and environmental problem for a long period of time, taking advantage of legal and administrative loopholes. In the metropolitan area surrounding the capital, especially Yongin, where semi-agricultural zones have been developed recklessly, serious problems have already emerged including the lack of infrastructure, environmental contamination, destruction of scenic landscapes, encroachment of good farmland and forest and invitation of natural disasters. This study assumed all these problems as the consequence of the inadequacy of the legislative system and analyzed the causes. The study also suggests some countermeasures. Most of all, a "planning-first, development-later" practice should be brought into place so that various experts could participate for a detailed planning. Public development should also be expanded so that beneficial public facilities could be set up in the first place. A system for reasonable development charges should also be come up with. In this process, the role of the administrators becomes yet more important for a long-term, systematic planning of future cities, accompanied by public housing developments.

A Review on Monitoring the Everglades Wetlands in the Southern Florida Using Space-based Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Observations

  • Space-based Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) observations have been widely and successfully applied to acquire invaluable temporal and spatial information on wetlands, which are unique environments and regarded as important ecosystems. One of the best studied wetland area is Everglades, which is located in southern Florida, USA. As a World Heritage Site, the Everglades is the largest natural and subtropical wilderness in the United States. The Everglades wetlands have been threatened by anthropogenic activities such as urban expansion and agricultural development, as well as by natural processes, as sea level changes due to climate change. In order to conserve this unique wetland environment, various restoration plans have been implemented. In this review paper, we summarize the main studies using space-based SAR observations for monitoring the Everglades. The paper is composed of the following two sections: (1) review of backscattered amplitude analysis and observations, and (2) review of interferometric SAR (InSAR) analysis and applications. This study also provides an overview of a wetland InSAR technique and space-based SAR sensors. The goal of this review paper is to provide a comprehensive summary of space-based SAR monitoring of wetlands, using the Everglades wetlands as a case study.

가족경영협약 실태분석과 체결의향 분석 (A Study on the Condition of Family Management Convention and its Intention to Sign it)

  • This paper analyzed the necessity of family management agreement in management succession and the intention of signing it. To this end, 139 management successors were surveyed and the factors affecting the family management agreement were analyzed. The main analysis results are as follows. Firstly, Priority in the management agreement system was the highest participation in decision-making with 34.5 percent, or 19 people, followed by the sharing of management roles and the distribution of revenues and expenses with 27.3 percent, respectively. Secondly, An analysis of the difference between cohabitation with parents and the need for a family management agreement showed that 70.2 percent of successors and 51.7 percent of non-residents shared the opinion that a family management agreement is needed. Finally, according to the analysis, the lower the age of the heirs, the higher the willingness to sign the family management agreement, the more likely the successor who graduated from a related university in the agricultural industry, and the more likely the successor who is a farmer in an urban area, the more willing he is to sign the family management agreement.

시설재배를 고려한 미래 농지이용 변화와 기후변화가 관개 필요수량에 미치는 영향 평가 (Assessment of Future Agricultural Land Use and Climate Change Impacts on Irrigation Water Requirement Considering Greenhouse Cultivation)

  • 본 연구에서는 CLUE-s(Conversion of Land Use and its Effects at Small regional extent)와 RCP(Representative Concentration Pathway) 4.5 및 8.5 HadGEM3-RA(Hadley Centre Global Environmental Model version 3 Regional Atmosphere)시나리오를 사용하여 미래 농지이용 변화와 기후변화가 관개 필요수량에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 논산시(55,517.9ha)의 농지이용 항목으로 논, 밭, 시설재배지를 고려하고 DIROM (Daily Irrigation Reservoir Operation Model)을 이용해 탑정저수지 수혜구역(5,713.3ha)에 대한 관개 필요수량(Irrigation Water Requirement, IWR)을 추정하였다. CLUE-s를 이용한 미래 농지이용 변화를 모의하기 위해 환경부의 2007년, 2013년, 2019년의 토지피복도 6개 항목(수역, 시가지, 논, 밭, 산림, 시설재배지)을 적용하였다. 그 결과, 2100년은 2013년에 비해 논과 밭이 5.0%, 7.6% 감소했으며, 시설재배지는 24.7% 증가하는 것으로 전망되었다. 미래의 농지이용과 기후변화를 모두 고려한 경우의 RCP 4.5 및 RCP 8.5 모두 2090s(2090~2099) IWR은 미래 기후변화만 고려한 경우에 비해 논과 밭에서는 각각 2.1%, 1.0% 감소하고 시설재배지에서는 11.4% 증가하는 것으로 전망되었다.

건강가정지원센터 위상 재정립을 위한 정책 제안 연구 -경기도를 중심으로- (A study on the Policy Suggestion for Re-establishment of Health Family Support Centers - focused to Gyeonggi-do -)

  • This study suggests policies to rearrange the status of Health Family Support Centers, targeting hands-on workers and centering on collected problems and improvements. To attain this aim, the study rearranged the materials investigated in 2009. On this basis, the study suggests the following policies. First, Health Family Support Centers changed into Korean Institute Healthy family which could prepare a means for opinion convergence through base organizations. Thus, it is necessary to establish a Gyeonggi-do wide area Health Family Support Center. Second, space and human resource arrangement, suitable to business, are necessary, and so are stable, secure finances. Third, urban areas, agricultural villages, and fishing villages are distributed across Gyeonggi-do. Thus, the development of specialized business, suitable to Gyeonggi-do, is necessary. Consequently, this study suggests executing obligatory family education (education for engaged couples, education for parents). Fourth, case management models, unique to Health Family Support Centers, have to be developed, as well as unified services related to education, counseling, and cultural businesses. Fifth, the Health Family Support Center has to secure its own status as a hub organization of inter-regional family businesses, has to strengthen its organizational identity, and has to promote suitable business development.

大邱의 貧民地域 形成過程과 空間分布의 特性 (Process and Spatial Distribution of Squatter Settlement in Taegu)

  • 우리나라 대도시 어디에서나 볼 수 있는 빈민지역이 어떻게 형성되었으며 도시내에서 어떻게 공간이동을 하였는가를 알기 위하여 대구를 사례로하여 고찰하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 대구의 빈민형성은 해방 및 6.25 동란을 겪으면서 그 수가 증대되어 1차적으로 도심가까이에 빈민지역을 형성하였고 그 후 도시와의 진전에 따라 도시주변지역의 무단점거에 의한 2차적 빈민지역이 형성되었다. 2) 최근에서 도시재개발사업에 환경이 개선되어 일반거주지역으로 전환되었거나 혹은 대규모 아파트단지가 건립되어 저소득층은 그 곳에 거주하지 못하고 도시근교의 영구 및 임대아파트 단지내에 대규모로 집단화하여 거주지의 수평적 이동이 이루어지게 되었다.

도심지역 고온현상이 사과나무 생육과정에 미치는 영향: 대구광역시 '후지'/M.9을 사례로 (Impacts of Urban High Temperature Events on Physiology of Apple Trees: A Case Study of 'Fuji'/M.9 Apple Trees in Daegu, Korea)

  • 본 시험은 도심지역의 고온이 사과나무의 생리적 반응에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자, 도심지역인 대구와 전원지역인 군위에 재식된 '후지'/M.9 사과나무의 광합성, 신초생장, 과실품질을 2년(2009-2010년) 동안 조사하였다. 사과 생육기(4-10월) 동안 대구의 평균기온은 군위보다 $3.0^{\circ}C$ 정도 높았고, 사과 생육기 동안의 총 강수량은 대구가 군위보다 100mm 정도 많았다. 과실 비대기(6-8월) 동안 대구는 일 평균기온이 $30^{\circ}C$를 넘은 날이 2010년은 10일 정도 있었으나 2009년에는 하루도 없었다. 대구의 과실 성숙기(9-10월) 동안 평균기온은 $19.8^{\circ}C$로 군위보다 $4.0^{\circ}C$ 정도 더 높았다. 과실 비대기의 $30^{\circ}C$ 이상의 고온은 '후지'/M.9 사과나무의 광합성속도, 신초생장, 과중 및 가용성 고형물 함량을 감소시켰다. 과실 성숙기의 $20^{\circ}C$ 정도의 온난한 기온은 광합성속도 및 가용성 고형물 함량을 증가시켰으나 착색을 감소시켰다. 지역별 비교에 있어서, 장마 전에는 대구의 광합성속도가 군위보다 낮았으나, 장마 이후로는 대구가 군위보다 높았다. 대구의 과중은 군위보다 컸으나, 대구의 일 최고기온이 $35^{\circ}C$를 넘은 날이 많아질수록 대구와 군위의 과중 차이는 없어졌다. 대구의 가용성 고형물 함량은 군위보다 높았으나 착색은 반대로 군위가 높았다. 결론적으로 지구온난화 및 도시화에 의해 '후지'/M.9 사과나무에서 가장 문제가 되는 부분은 착색불량이었다.
