  • Peroxynitrite and 4-hydroxynonenal (4-HNE) are highly reactive molecules which are generated under oxidative stress condition and during aging. Many proteins in living organism are modified by them and consequently associated with various diseases including cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. We hypothesize that peroxynitrite and 4-HNE modified serum proteins are also associated with aging process. To establish information on peroxynitrite and 4-HNE adducted proteins for aging study, we used proteins methods, 2D-PAGE and MALD-TOF MS, to identify modified proteins from young (70month) and old (25-month) rat serum. Combined Effect of Aging and Irradiation on Physicochemical Quality of Pork Shoulder

  • The effect of combined electron-beam irradiation and aging temperature of pork on microbiological and physicochemical properties was investigated. The samples from pork shoulder were irradiated with 0 or 2 kGy, vacuum-packaged, and assigned randomly to an aging temperature ($2^{\circ}C$, $10^{\circ}C$, or $25^{\circ}C$) during 8 d. On 4 d of aging at $25^{\circ}C$, total aerobic bacteria of non-irradiated ones reached 7 Log CFU/g which is no salable levels. Shear force values of irradiated meat after aging for 2 and 4 d at $25^{\circ}C$ was lower than those aged at $2^{\circ}C$. Irradiated samples at $2^{\circ}C$ had lower cooking loss after 2 and 8 d of aging, compared with other aging temperatures. Irradiation did not accelerate 2-thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) value when aged up to 4 d. Irradiated samples aged at $10^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$ for 8 d scored significantly higher TBARS values. With an increased aging period, $a^*$ and $b^*$ in irradiated samples at $2^{\circ}C$ slightly increased, but irradiation caused negligible changes in meat color. The highest contents of a desirable nucleotide flavor compounds (inosine-5-phosphate) were observed in pork at $2^{\circ}C$ when aged for 4 and 8 d, while the lowest contents were observed at $25^{\circ}C$. Aging in irradiated pork for 8 d at $2^{\circ}C$ resulted in optimal condition with improved meat quality and minimal microbiologically negative defect.

베이비붐 세대의 성공적 노화 인식과 노후 준비에 관한 연구 (Perceptions of Successful Aging and Preparations for the Later Life Among the Baby Boom Cohort)

  • 본 연구는 베이비붐 세대의 인구 통계학적 특성에 따른 성공적 노화 인식과 노후 준비 정도를 살펴보고, 더 나아가 성공적 노화 인식이 노후 준비에 미치는 영향력을 파악하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 전국에서 814명의 베이비붐 세대를 대상으로 2015년 5월 1일부터 9월 15일까지 설문지 조사가 실시되었으며, SPSS WIN18.0을 이용하여 자료를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 베이비붐 세대의 성공적 노화 인식은 학력, 주관적 경제수준, 주관적 건강상태, 배우자 유무에 따라 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 베이비붐 세대의 노후 준비 정도는 학력, 직업, 주관적 경제수준, 주관적 건강상태에 따라서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 성공적 노화 인식이 높을수록 노후를 위한 준비에 보다 적극적인 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 베이비붐 세대들의 성공적 노화와 노후 준비에 관한 정책과 서비스는 인구 통계학적 특성을 고려한 개별화된 방안이 마련되어야 하며, 동시에 성공적 노화에 관한 이론적 교육 및 노후 준비에 관한 실천적 프로그램이 함께 병행되어질 필요가 있다.

REACTION OF PAPER PULP AND ALKYL KETENE DIMER BY AGING TREATMENT DURING PAPERMAKIN PROCESS

  • Alkylketene dimer was known as a cellulose reactive or alkaline size because it does not require to fix to the fiber as do the traditional rosin sizes. A proposed sizing mechanism of AKD was the formation of P -ketoester bond between AKD and cellulose which provides the permanent attachment and the orientation of the hydrophobic alkylchains outward. However, some questions about the reaction had arisen and thus, the sizing mechanism of AKD has been a subject of controversy for several decades. The major concern of the controversy is that AKD is really reactive with cellulose or not in the papermaking conditions. In this study, reaction between AKD and pulp fiber was investigated, in order to find out whether AKD forms P-ketoester with pulp fiber during aging under no catalyzed neutral condition with obvious spectroscopic evidence. In addition, effect of aging treatment on the sizing development was studied. It has been disclosed that, in absence of water, AKD reacted with cellulose to form P -ketoester linkage under no catalyzed neutral condition, while, in presence of water, most of AKD was hydrolyzed to a dialkyl ketone or P -ketoacid. In addition, during the aging treatment of AKD-sized paper, its typical IR spectra bands gradually were reduced, completely disappeared after 6hr aging, and formed new absorption bands at 1707cm-' and shoulder peak at 1700cm-' which refer to the typical dialkylketone absorption bands. Therefore, the formation of P -ketoester between AKD and pulp fiber is impossible in the practical papermaking process. It could be suggested that the sizing development of AKD-sized paper is obtained by next two mechanism: 1) formation of a thin-layer of AKD on the fiber surface through melting and spreading of AKD emulsion particles by heat and 2) the hydrolysis of AKD to dialkyl ketone which has higher melting point, during drying and storage of AKD sized papers.

  • 자외- 가시선 흡수분광광도법을 적용하여 주상변압기 절연유의 판정기준을 제시하였다. 절연유가 열화하면 절연유의 전기적 특성치가 저하할 뿐만 아니라 흡광도값도 변하게 된다. tan$\delta$와 절연파괴전압과 같은 전기적 특성치를 흡광도값과 비교하여 흡광도값에 의한 절연유의 판정기분을 설정하였다. 흡광도값이 0.580 이하는 양호, 요주의는 0.580~0.900, 불량은 0.900이상이다. 자외-가시건 흡수분광광도법은 절연유의 열화분석에 적용할 수 있으며, 기존의 육안에 의한 절연유 검사 방법을 대체할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 그러나 분광광도법을 현장에 적용하려면 저렴하고 경량화된 휴대용 분광광도계의 개발이 필요하다.

구미 지역 노인의 주관적 건강상태 및 구강건강상태 수준비교 (Comparison of subjective health condition and subjective oral health condition of the elderly in Gumi)

  • Objectives : Rapid aging is a big social issue and aging influences on the quality of life in elderly people. Oral health in elderly people related to the general health condition and it is necessary to improve the quality of life in the elderly people. The aim of the study is to investigate the influencing factors of oral health in the elderly people. Methods : Self-reported questionnaire included general characteristics, subjective health and oral condition and denture use. Subjects were 177 elderly people in Gumi, Korea. SAS (Ver.9.2) Program was used for the collected data to perform frequency analysis, cross tabulation, t-test and ANOVA. Results : Higher subjective oral health score were found in younger age, highly educated, high income, and married elderly people. Elderly people who were older and had low education and low income tended to use denture Conclusions : It is necessary to develop oral health care management and prevention program for the elderly people.

뿌리산업 제조현장 체계분석 및 데이터 기반 설비보전 환경구축 (Equipment Maintenance Environment Based on Field-Data of Root Industry by Manufacturing-Field Analysis)

  • This paper describes the efficient equipment maintenance that can offer the exact time for repair and change of component in root industry. A conventional method offered the fixed time for repair and change of component because the method is based on early guarantee specification of the component. However the operating condition of manufacturing field is often under worse condition than early guarantee condition for high productivity. So, most components can't use until early guarantee time due to the operation of various different condition. Therefore we suggest the useful method for efficient equipment-maintenance by manufacturing-field analysis and feedback database. For this, the classification of root industry and related equipment is performed and then the detail classification of the process and component for equipment maintenance. And the monitoring module is also designed to gather data for feedback process and the environment is basically implemented for aging and reliability test.

The Importance of the Aging Time to Prepare Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 Catalyst with High Surface Area in Methanol Synthesis

  • Ternary Cu/ZnO/$Al_2O_3$ catalysts were prepared by a co-precipitation method. The precursor structures were monitored during the aging. The first precipitate structure was amorphous georgeite, which transformed into the unknown crystalline structure. The transition crystalline structure was assigned to the crystalline georgeite, which was suggested with elemental analysis, IR and XRD. The final structure of precursors was malachite. The Cu surface area of the resulting Cu/ZnO/$Al_2O_3$ was maximized to be 30.6 $m^2$/g at the aging time of 36 h. The further aging rapidly decreased Cu surface areas of Cu/ZnO/$Al_2O_3$. ZnO characteristic peaks in oxide samples almost disappeared after 24 h aging, indicating that ZnO was dispersed in around bulk CuO. TOF of the prepared catalysts of the Cu surface area ranges from 13.0 to 30.6 $m^2/g_{cat}$ was to be 2.67 ${\pm}$ 0.27 mmol/$m^2$.h in methanol synthesis at the condition of $250^{\circ}C$, 50 atm and 12,000 mL/$g_{cat}$. h irrespective of the XRD and TPR patterns of CuO and ZnO structure in CuO/ZnO/$Al_2O_3$. The pH of the precipitate solution during the aging time can be maintained at 7 by $CO_2$ bubbling into the precipitate solution. Then, the decrease of Cu surface area by a long aging time can be prevented and minimize the aging time to get the highest Cu surface area.

중년직장인의 건강상태, 노후준비가 노화불안에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Health Status and Retirement Preparation on Aging Anxiety in Middle-Aged Workers)

  • 본 연구는 중년직장인 대상으로 건강상태, 노후준비가 노화불안에 미치는 영향에 대한 구조모형을 검증하고자 시도되었다. 연구대상은 C시와 G시에 소재하는 기관 3개소에 근무하는 40~59세 중년 직장인 263명을 대상으로 설문지를 이용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 노화불안에 영향을 미치는 변수들의 직접효과는 노후준비가 가장 큰 요인으로 나타났으며, 그 다음 건강상태 순으로 나타났고 이들 변인들은 노화불안 정도를 52% 설명하였다. 둘째, 건강상태가 노후준비에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 노후준비를 통한 노화불안에 유의한 간접효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 40~49세와 50~59세 직장인 집단을 조절변수로 하는 다중집단 조절효과에서 건강상태와 노화불안의 경로계수가 집단간 차이가 있어 부분조절효과가 있었다. 따라서 노화불안을 줄이기 위해서는 다양한 노후준비에 대한 방안모색이 중요하며, 신체적, 정신적 건강상태를 잘 유지할 수 있는 체계적인 관리 시스템이 필요하다고 사료된다.

플라즈마 용사 열차폐 코팅의 열화에 따른 접착강도 평가 (Evaluation of Bond Strength of Isothermally Aged Plasma Sprayed Thermal Barrier Coating)

  • In this study, disk type of thermal barrier coating system for gas turbine blade was isothermally aged in the furnace changing exposure time and temperature. For each aging condition, bond tests for three samples were conducted for evaluating degradation of adhesive or cohesive strength of thermal barrier coating system. For as-sprayed condition, the location of fracture in the bond test was in the middle of epoxy which have bond strength of 57 MPa. As specimens are degraded by thermal aging, bond strength gradually decreased and the location of failure was also changed from within top coat at the earlier stage of thermal aging to the interface between top coat and TGO at the later stage due to the delamination in the coating.
