  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the gender differences of elementary, junior high, and high school students in the artificial intelligence ethics awareness (hereinafter referred to as AIEA). This is a study to investigate whether there is a gender difference in the AIEA, and if so, when the gender difference will occur. This study was conducted with 198 elementary school students (98 female students, 100 male students), 265 middle school students (166 female students, 99 male students), and 114 high school students (58 female students and 56 male students) in I Metropolitan City. The results are as follows: First, a gender difference in the AIEA between all boys and girls was confirmed. Second, the gender difference in the AIEA tended to be solidified as the school age increased from elementary school to middle school and high school. Third, female students at all stages of elementary school, junior high school, and high school are not yet very reliable in artificial intelligence, and there is a greater concern about non-discrimination than boys. It turns out that they have a negative position on permission to enter the territory. Fourth, the interaction effects of school age and gender have been identified in 'stability and reliability,' and in 'permit and limit' categories. Taken together, these results show that an educational strategy that approaches the gender equality perspective of the educational program is necessary so that there will be no gender difference in the AIEA during artificial intelligence education activities.

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: South Korean's sodium consumption level is more than twice the upper limit level suggested by the WHO. Steep increases in the prevalence of hypertension and cardiovascular disease in Korea necessitate more effective sodium reduction programs. This study was conducted in order to compare sodium intake-related eating behaviors and key psychosocial factors according to age group and gender. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Using an online survey, a total of 1,564 adults (20-59 years old) considered to be geographically representative of South Korea were recruited and surveyed. The major outcomes were perceived behaviors, knowledge, intentions, and self-efficacy related to sodium intake. RESULTS: The results show that perceived behavior and level of self-efficacy related to low sodium consumption differed by age and gender. Female participants showed better behavior and intention towards low sodium intake than male counterparts. Young participants in their 20s showed the lowest intention to change their current sodium intake as well as lowest self-efficacy measures. CONCLUSIONS: Future sodium reduction interventions should be developed with tailored messages targeting different age and gender groups. Specifically, interventions can be planned and implemented at the college level or for workers in their early career to increase their intention and self-efficacy as a means of preventing future health complications associated with high sodium intake.

The subjects consisted of 463 healthy adult(29- men and 173 women) volunteers who were visiting the health Promotion Center in the Asan Medical Center from July 1, 1994 to July 22, 1994 Subjects were ambulatory free-living people and aged 20- 80 years, Anthropometric measurement was performed and serum triglyceride(TG), HDL-cholesterol and total cholesterol(TChol) concentrations were measure by automatic system(Hitachi 736-40). Data on life styles were obtained using structured questionnaires issued by a trained interviewer, All data were statistically analyzed by PC-SAS(Version 6.04) Serum concentrations of triglyceride and total cholesterol was higher(p<0.05) in men than in women, and serum HDL-cholesterol was lower(p<0.05) in men than in women. The prevalence of hyperlipidemia(TG>170 mg/dL and TChol>220 mg /dL) was 12.5% in men and 4.1% in women. The levels of serum triglyceride, total cholesterol and BMI increased with age in women. The distribution curves of serum triglyceride, total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol of women were located in lower increased more rapidly with aging than in men, The distribution curves of BMI of women increased with aging after the thirties, The BMI of women was located in higher levels than of men in their sixties. The serum concentration of triglyceride and total cholesterol of male current-smokers and non- smokers were significantly(p<0.05) higher than those of ex-smokers. The concentrations triglyceride the male current0drinkers were higher(p<0.05) than those of male non-drinkers. In non-smokers and non- drinkers, serum TG concentration were lower (p<0.05) than those of current-smokers and current-drinkers. In exercisers, the serum triglyceride concentration was significantly(p<0.05) lower than in non- exercisers. In postmenopausal woman BMI and serum concentrations of TChol, TG and LDL-Chol were significantly by age and gender and smoking alcohol drinking, exercise and menopausal staus might be a better indicator to predict serum lipids in both genders.

  • This study identifies the determinants that influence attitude toward and the intention to use mobile shopping services through fashion applications (apps) based on the technology acceptance model. In addition, gender and age group differences were examined. Data were collected from subjects who have used smartphone fashion related apps; subsequently, a total of 327 data were analyzed. About 46% of respondents were males, with a mean age of 34.4 years that ranged from 20 to 49 years old. Multiple regression models were developed based on the research model. Perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, perceived risks (security risk and quality risk), fashion involvement, and fashion app attributes (product attributes and service attributes) were employed as predictors of attitudes towards mobile shopping. Attitudes towards mobile shopping and subjective norms with the aforementioned variables measured the intention to use. Attitudes towards mobile shopping were predicted by perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness, and service attributes. Attitudes toward mobile shopping and subjective norms were the most important predictors of the intention to use. Gender differences were found in that service attributes were significant for attitudes towards mobile shopping only in the male model. Age differences were also found and perceived usefulness was the most important predictor of attitudes toward mobile shopping among those in their 20's; however, perceived enjoyment was the most important among those in their 30's and 40's. Quality risk was only significant to explain intention to use among those in their 40's. The findings of this study are useful to understand the possibility of the adoption of mobile shopping though fashion apps and provide basic insight into market segmentation.

  • Objectives : This study aims to investigate the correlation between the characteristics of personality on MMPI scale, and the siblings relation, number of current family living with, gender and age of the Oriental Medical University students. Methods : For this study, we carried out the MMPI profiling and gathered information regarding the sibling relation of the subjects. We studied the correlation between the two measures, and the correlation between MMPI scales and the subjects' gender and age. Results : 1. The group without siblings had higher STY figures then the groups with siblings. 2. There was no significant differences in MMPI profiles among the only child group, first-born group, second-born group, and third-born group. 3. The married group showed higher Pd, Pt, Sc, BDL figures than the unmarried group. 4. As the number of family members currently living with increased, the BDL and STY figures decreased. 5. The male group had higher Hs, Hy, Pa, Ma, NAR, BDL, ANT, CPS, PAR, and SZD figures, while the female group had higher D, Pd, Mf, Pt, HST, PAG, and DEP figures. 6. As the subjects' age increased, the figure of Hs, D, Pt, Sc, Si, AVD, and SZD increased, while the HST figure decreased. Conclusions : By the above results, we can assume that the sibling relations and the order one is born in the family does not affect one's personality much in grown-ups; whereas the gender and age affect the personality.
