서해안 지역 실트샌드의 매립직후 공학적 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on Engineering Properties after Reclamation in Silty Sand Soil Layers of Western Ocean)

  • For reclamaing fill materials, hydraulic fill is needed in domestic parts of the reclamation sites every year. Engineering properties of soils after reclamation is calculated by laboratory. But before or after reclamation, reclamation quatities depend on the depth from the ground surface when hydraulic fill is dumped. In this paper, the engineering properties on the depth from ground surface are assumed by cone penetration test where fine grained soft soil is formed is proposed through several sites.

새만금간척 퇴적과정에 관한 연구(II) -새만금간척 시행 후를 중심으로- (A Study of Sedimentation Processes of Saemangeum Reclamation(II) - A Study of Sedimentation Processes after Saemangeum Reclamation -)

  • The purpose of this study is to find the variation of sedimentation patterns after Saemangeum reclamation. Residual flow after Saemangeum reclamation was calculated prognostically from the observed water temperature and salinity data in May 1992 by the Marine Development Institute of Gunsan National University and wind data which were obtained from spring 1969 through winter 1977 by the Kunsan Meteorological Observatory. Three dimensional movements of injected particles due to currents, turbulence and sinking velocity are tracked by the Euler-Lagrange method. When suspended sediments with the size of soil grain of 30 ㎛ are injected in the Sinsi drainage sluice, their dispersion range of sediment is around Gogunsan islands. When suspended sediments with the size of soil grain of 200 ㎛ are injected in the Garyeok drainage sluice, their dispersion range of sediment was around the Garyeok drainage sluice and Byeonsan coastal area.

화성호 간척사업이 어촌 주민의 삶에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Hwasung reclamation project on the life of fishing village resident)

  • In order to investigate the effect of land reclamation on the life of local fishermen, a survey was conducted with the 246 people living in 12 different adjacent villages located in Hwasung District. It was found that income of residents decreased, while the amount of debts increased after reclamation. 65% of the people surveyed answered that their economic situation became worse than before and they blamed the decrease of fishery resources as the main cause. It further led to the loss of the family's means of livelihood. 40% of the people surveyed claimed that they wanted to leave the fishing village and believed that reclamation divested them of all their hope for the future. Regarding to the effect of reclamation project on the image of Hwasung District, most of the respondents have a negative view on the reclamation project. They have negative views even on the tourism, regional welfare, employment of community residents and local infrastructure. Therefore, it can be concluded that local community residents thought that reclamation project had negatively influenced their overall quality of life.

서해안 간척지 토양의 탈염특성 (Desalinization Characteristics after Reclamation of Tidal Flat on the Western Coast of Korea)

  • Vertical and temporal characteristics of desalinized reclaimed soil were analyzed from reclaimed coastal land on the western coast of Korea. Of the vertical changes during desalting, pH valuse were the lowest at the topsoil without regard to reclaimation time. The content of C1 were designated as the early period (the first 2-4 years) which decreased exponentially and the later period(the last 5-7 years) which was almost constant, from top to down. In temporal changes of the soil attributes, pH values increased for 5 years and decreased at 6 year after reclamation. Chlorine leaches more rapidly than Na does, K and Ca are constant but Mg increases as time elapsed after reclamation. Sometimes the content of Ca and K in the reclaimed soil are of higher concentration than that of the seawater after reclamation. During desallinization as exemplified by decreasing EC of the soil, Cl and Na are rapidly leached, but K, Ca and Mg are somewhat enhanced. The ration of Na/Cl in the soil equals 1 when the EC registers 5 mmho and then increases dramatically as the EC decreases. Rapid leaching of $Cl^{-}$ elicits an increasing pH valus. The electrostatic balance of the soil is achived by replacement of $Cl^{-}$ with $OH^{-}$ until stationary or until a decreasing pH value is reached again.

Calculated sedimentation patterns of riverine materials are highly similar to the observed ones. When suspended sediments with the size of soil grain of 60 ${\mu}m$ are injected from the Mangyeong River, their dispersion range of sediment is about 25km for 24 hours after the injection, while about 35km for 72 hours after the injection. When suspended sediments with the size of soil grain of 200 ${\mu}m$ are injected, their dispersion range of sediment is about 18km for 24 hours after the injection, while about 21km for 72 hours after the injection.

간척의 역사적 의미와 간척문화유산의 보존·활용 방안 연구 - 새만금 지역 근·현대 간척 시설을 중심으로 - (A Study of the Historical Significance of Reclamation and How to Preserve and Utilize Reclamation of Cultural Heritage -Focusing on modern and contemporary reclamation sites in the Saemangeum area-)

  • 간척은 인구 증가에 따른 식량 확보를 위한 경작지 등 다양한 용도로 활용하기 위하여 근해의 간석지에 제방을 축조하여 새롭게 토지를 창출하는 행위이다. 고대부터 간척으로 인하여 토지의 확대 및 개발, 인구의 이동, 도시의 형성이라는 환경적, 경제적, 사회적, 문화적인 측면에서 급격한 변화가 초래되었다는 사실에 기반하여 간척 시설물의 가치를 검토하고 보존 및 활용 방안을 다루었다. 간척 문화는 간척에 따른 제반 환경의 변화에서 생성된 사람들의 인식과 관념 체계, 행위 양식, 문화적 생성물을 총칭하며, 간척에 의해 직·간접적으로 생성된 유형 유산과 무형 유산, 그리고 자연 유산을 간척문화유산으로 정의하였다. 간척을 추진했던 역사적 배경이 시간의 추이에 따라 다르며, 간척 시설물은 역사성, 학술성, 희소성이 있기 때문에 문화유산으로서의 가치가 있음을 확인하였다. 새만금 방조제 건설 이후 그 본래의 기능을 마감한 광활, 계화 방조제를 중심으로 수많은 간척문화유산이 멸실 위기에 놓여 있다. 활용은 보존을 기본 전제로 한다는 생각 아래 제도적 측면에서의 보존 방안을 제시하였다. 먼저 근현대 간척 시설물에 대해 등록문화재, 향토문화유산, 미래유산, 농업유산으로 지정하여 관리할 필요가 있다. 특히 고려~조선시대 및 1950년대 이후에 조성된 간척 시설물이 문화재로 지정되지 않은 것으로 확인되어, 이 시기를 비롯하여 전국 간척자료에 대한 전수 조사를 통해 간척 시설물의 특징과 가치에 대한 검토가 요구된다. 우리 삶과 밀착되어 그간 주목받지 못했던 간척문화유산의 효율적이고 지속 가능한 활용 방안으로는 그 유산에 내재된 스토리 발굴, 간척 자원의 효율적인 활용을 위한 거버넌스의 구성, 해당 간척 지역의 역사와 문화를 수집하고 전시하는 박물관 건립이 필요하다. 마지막으로 간척사업의 경험이 있는 국가들과의 연계를 통해 간척에 따른 사회, 문화, 환경 등 국제적 이슈에 대해 공동으로 대처하고 인류 발전을 위한 다양한 사업을 실행할 수 있을 것이다.

해안 매립에 따른 항내 조류변화 예측 (Prediction of Tidal Flow Changes Caused by Coastal Reclamation in Harbor System)

  • This paper presents the results from a hydrodynamic model study to predict the impacts of coastal reclamation in Pusan harbor system using RMA2 which is a tidal flow model of the US Army Corps of Engineers' TABS-2 system. A finite element mesh was constructed and refined to cover the complicated geometry of Pusan harbor system and the proposed reclamation area. The model was calibrated to tidal elevations and currents measured during spring fall syzygys. Under the three different tidal conditions including summer winter syzygys, spring fall quarters, and summer winter quarters, the model predictions were compared with the field measurements both in tidal elevation and current. In all cases, there were excellent agreements between the model predictions and the field measurements. The validated model was then used to predict the changes in tidal current and elevation that might occur due to the coastal reclamation. It was predicted that there would be no change in tidal elevation of this system after the reclamation. In tidal current, however, discernible changes were predicted near the proposed reclamation area both in magnitude and direction.

  • Recently this country has carried out the coast reclamation centering on the west and south coast for effective practical use of a country, considering purchase of materials and environmental problem, and carrying into effort the reclamation method after dredging the ground in the ocean. In this large scale ocean dredging reclaiming work, prediction the ground subsidence after reclaiming is very important for not only expense lose by overestimation or underestimation but also hereafter the best suited project establishment. this study carries out sedimentation and self weight consolidation in each cases and searches the features to analyze effect on kinds of soil of ground before dredging, abandonment height when it abandons momentary, void ratio, difference of abandonment height when it abandons by stages and difference of particle content of spoil.

유기퇴비를 이용한 급경사 농경지 토양유실 저감 (Reduction of Soil Loss from Sloped Agricultural Field by using Organic Compost)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the feasibility of organic compost for reducing soil loss in 25% sloped farm land. For the study, laboratory and field experiment were performed. After nine weeks monitoring in pot test, hardness of the amended soil with organic compost (1%~3%, w/w) showed two times higher than the control soil. Furthermore, soil loss of that was decreased by 95% under rainfall simulation test. From the result of laboratory experiment, organic compost with 2% (w/w) was applied for field experimental plot. After six month from April to September, the amount of soil loss became 67% of the initial, and the growth of natural vegetation was not hampered. Therefore, organic compost can be used as amendment materials to reduce soil loss in sloped farmland.

친환경간척농지개발과 우리농업 (Phil-Environmental Tide Land Reclamation and Korean Agriculture)

  • In Korea, It was natural and inevitable to reclaim tidal land for farming due to over-population in small territory. Looking back upon the history of tidal land reclamation in Korea, We can find the first case of it in 13th century KangHwaDo(Island), and also find several records of small scale reclamations of western sea-coast from Korea dynasty to Chosun dynasty. A lot of wide fertile agricultural areas on western sea-coast have been developed through tidal land reclamation for about 1000-year after Korea dynasty. and on these areas, we have produced rice which we live on. An average areas of farming land per capital in korea is only 0.04ha, which is one sixth of global average. For water resources, similarly, capacity of water resources alloted to one person is $11{\%}$ of global average. So, without supplementary water development, we will have suffered from a severe deficiency of water Therefore we must prepare for these predictable short water and food problems. and tidal land reclamation may be suitable alternative to settle these problems. However, tidal land reclamation is a work of closing estuary, intercepting sea water inflow, developing a freshened estuary lake and farming lands etc. therefore it apparently causes a change of ecosystem, water quality and littoral environment. Nowadays, widely recognized the importance of environmental preservation, it is desirable or requested to make phil-environmental and sustainable development minimizing the environmental influence due to tidal land reclamation project. In this paper, the role of tidal land reclamation project in the development process of Korean agriculture was reviewed and the direction of afterwards tidal land reclamation project was suggested.
