One hundred vlogs of corporations with an official YouTube channel were content analyzed and their banded content attributes, advertising model's characteristics, advertising appeals, creative strategy, and consumer responses were investigated. Results show that the vlogs of employees were generally formulated with information on their colleagues' tasks and interviews. Findings also demonstrate that the characteristics of the model featured in vlogs had the most significant effects on consumer responses. Amongst the creative strategies, the user image had positive effects. However, branded content characteristics and advertising appeal types were found to have relatively weak effects. • A writer's text signals are converted into visual ones as a director exerts his fundamental capability to interpret and direct. On the other hand, his situational capability comes into play as the production environment changes. Such latest developments as the increasing popularity of production outsourcing, the sapped advertising market, and the growth in the number of the media channels and consequently heightened level of competition have led to changes in the way of advertising and production sponsorship. In turn, directors are faced with a new environment, where they are now required to pick up the role of an advertising director. Given that the production costs have been rising faster than the advertising revenue, such change in the director's situational capability seems to be part of the overall drama industry's evolution.

  • The study empirically analyses a linear relationship between terrestrial advertising rates and viewer ratings. Consistent with the results of preceding studies, the present study finds a convex relationship between standard advertising rates and viewer ratings. However, after all other sales practices are taken into account, a linear relationship is documented between per-minute advertising revenue and viewer ratings. Absent the exact functional relationship between the two, it is hard to evaluate accurately how efficiently or inefficiently the current GS System has operated, but it tells us that a certain level of market mechanism prevailed within the system. The findings are consistent with the 1 Public-1 Private Media Representative alternative among many alternatives currently sought by the KCC should we accept the premise that the public aspect is as equally important as, if not more important than, the efficiency aspect of terrestrial broadcasting.

In particular, this study identifies the moderating role of consumer team identification. A total of 350 university students participated via online survey. To test proposed hypotheses, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation modeling, and multi-group analysis were employed. It was found that informativeness, entertainment, and credibility showed significant positive effects on brand equity. Also, significant moderation effects of team identification were found in that consumers with high team identification compared to those with low team identification perceived higher value of entertainment. On the other hand, consumers with low team identification perceived more irritation than those with high team identification. This study contributes to the understanding of sports star influencer advertising in social networking sites. Theoretical and practical implications as well as suggestions for future research in this area are provided.

  • A smiling face usually has a positive effect on interpersonal relationships by delivering a warm impression. However, the stereotype content model and compensation effect between warmth and competence suggested that warmth perceptions caused by a smiling face could influence competence perceptions negatively. This study examined the negative impact of the advertising endorser's smile on purchase intention in an expensive product category by adopting the self-construal level. The study results showed that consumers with independent-self construal (vs. interdependent self-construal) showed a lower purchase intention when exposed to an ad containing an endorser's smile. In comparison, consumers with interdependent-self construal (vs. independent self-construal) showed a lower purchase intention when exposed to an ad without an endorser's smile. Thus, this study demonstrated a moderating role of self-construal in the relationship between advertising endorser's smile and purchase intention. These findings provide valuable theoretical and practical implications for effective advertising strategies in the expensive product category.
