In this study, as MBBR(Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) process using waste tire media is suggested for retrofitting with advanced wastewater treatment and the removal property of organic matter and nutrient and the capacity of media are evaluated through long-term operation with pilot plant following seasons, the application capacity of retrofitting with MBBR process to a existing wastewater treatment is studied. As a result of the long-term operation of the process, it is proved that there is no loss and abrasion of media, and also that it is possible to secure the sufficient attached bio-mass. The values of organic matter and nutrient in effluent are suitable for the strict discharged water quality standards in every season including winter.
In adult patients with dental phobia, dental treatment may be difficult, or may not be possible. Depending on the level of fear or anxiety, non-pharmacological or pharmacological behavior management techniques are used in the dental treatment of such patients. Among the pharmacological behavior management techniques, minimal sedation, that is, the lowest depth of sedation, can be easily obtained in adult patients using oral sedatives, does not require special equipment or tools, and does not affect ventilatory and cardiovascular function. Diazepam is an anxiolytic drug belonging to the benzodiazepine family that, in addition to relieving anxiety, produces muscle relaxation, and is a representative drug used in adult patients with fear of dental treatment. Herein, we report the case of a 50-year-old woman with severe dental fear who successfully underwent long-term dental treatment in approximately 20 visits with minimal sedation using oral diazepam. In addition, we reviewed the considerations for the use of benzodiazepines for minimal sedation.
Objectives This case study was about a Taeeumin patient with advanced Parkinson's disease diagnosed as Dry-heat symptomatic pattern. In this study, we reported significant improvement of motor and non-motor symptoms of this patient after Sasang constitutional medicine treatment. Methods The patient was diagnosed with Taeeumin Dry-heat symptomatic pattern and treated with Taeeumin's constitutional medications and acupuncture. The primary outcome measure for this study is Unified Parkinson Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS) to assess the overall function of patient. Secondary outcome assessments include Global Assessment Scale(GAS), change of patient's sleep, stool and urine. Results and Conclusions The patient treated with Taeeumin's constitutional medications and acupuncture had reduction in UPDRS (specifically Part II, Part III and Part IV) and GAS of motor symptoms. Furthermore, patient's sleep, stool and urine were reported to be normal after treatment. In conclusion, this study shows that Sasang constitutional medicine can be effective treatment for Taeeumin patient with Advanced Parkinson's disease diagnosed as Dry-heat symptomatic pattern.
Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) have attracted much attention as promising materials for transparent conducting films (TCFs), thanks to their superior electrical conductivity, high mechanical strength, and complete flexibility. The CNT-based TCFs can be used in a variety of application fields as flexible, transparent electrodes, including touch panel screens, flexible electronics, transparent heaters, etc. First of all, this study investigated the effect of a variety of surfactants on the dispersion of SWCNTs in an aqueous solution. Following the optimization of the dispersion by surfactants, flexible TCFs were fabricated by spraying the CNT suspension onto poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) substrates. The sheet resistances of the TCFs having different surfactants were investigated with treatment in nitric acid ($HNO_3$) whose concentration and period of treatment time were varied. It seems that the $HNO_3$ removes the surfactants from and is simultaneously doped into the SWCNT network, reducing the contact resistance between CNTs. TCFs were characterized by UV-VIS spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and four-point probe.

The effects of chemical treatment on Kevlar-29 fibers have been studied in a composite system. The surface characteristics of the Kevlar-29 fibers were characterized by pH, acid-base value and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The mechanical interfacial properties of final composites were studied by interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) and critical stress intensity factor ($K_{IC}$). Also, the impact properties of the composites were investigated in the differentiating studies between initiation and propagation energies, and ductile index (DI) along with maximum farce and total energy. It was found that the chemical treatment with phosphoric acid ($H_3PO_4$) solution significantly affected the degree of adhesion at interfaces between fibers and resin matrix, resulting in improving the mechanical interfacial strength of the composites. This was probably due to the presence of chemical polar groups on Kevlar surfaces, leading to an increment of interfacial binding force in a composite system.

Effect of quenching medium on the mechanical properties of ductil iron GCD 50 has been investigated using ADI treated specimens. The specimens have been austenitized at $900^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours, followed by controlled cooling to $800^{\circ}C$ under the cooling rate of $0.05^{\circ}C/sec$, then austempered at $380^{\circ}C$, $330^{\circ}C$, $280^{\circ}C$ and $230^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. The specimens treated in the salt of 5% water were found to have higher tensile strength than that of the normal salt bath. Elongation and impact energy increased in proportion to the increase of retained austenite volume fraction. The increase of cooling rate of the salt by the addition of 5% water to the salt resulted in the increase of retained austenite volume fraction and the formation of fine bainitic ferrite.
The structural and hardness variations of Mg-5Sn-(1,2,3) Ca (wt%) alloys have been investigated during various aging heat treatments followed by solution heat treatment at $500^{\circ}C$ for 24 hrs. Maximum hardness of Hv61 has been obtained for Mg-5Sn-3Ca alloys, when the aging treatment was performed at $200^{\circ}C$ for 24 hrs. The microstructures were critically changed when the content of Ca was more than 1wt%, since CaMgSn and $Mg_{2}Ca$ phases were mainly precipitated during aging treatments. The hardness variations with structural evolutions are discussed with respect to the aging temperatures and times.
The graphitization is affected by the addition of small amount of the elements(such as Si, Al, Ni, B, Cr and Mn etc.) and the pre-treatment(such as cold rolling). Boron is well known element to accelerate the graphitization of cementite in high carbon steels. Also, cold rolling is known to accelerate the graphitization. But the graphitization nucleation mechanism by cold rolling is few reported. Therefore the effect of cold rolling in Fe-0.5%C-1.0%Si-0.47%Mn-0.005%B steel on the graphitization is investigated quantitatively using hardness test, optical microscope and scanning electron microscope, neutron induced microscopic radiography. The nucleation of graphite in cold-rolled Fe-0.5%C-1.0%Si-0.47%Mn-0.005%B steel is formed at void which is formed at pearlite/pearlite boundary by cold rolling. But the effect of cold rolling on graphitization in boron addition steel is more effective than that of no boron addition steel due to segregation of BN at void in boron addition steel.
