This study is investigated the extent of the noise and ground vibration in an adjacent zone of a cattle pen and an antiquated housing structures for judgement of the spot applicability on the extents of the noise and ground vibration of the rock-splitting method by an oil pressure. It is studied by measuring and analysing in an adjacent position the extents of the noise and ground vibration according to the work process of the rock-splitting method, such as drilling, rock-splitting, arranging rock, loading and by being compared with the permitted level on the noise and ground vibration fixed at the spot. To the results, it is identified that the influence to the noise has to be considered, even if the rock-splitting method is applied as an excavation method to lower a ground vibration by the classification on blasting method of the ministry of land, transport and marine affairs.
There were many ground excavation projects from past to present to make effective use of the limited land. And it is very important to predict the ground behavior depending on construction stage for ground excavation. Excavation of the ground involves changes in the stress and displacement of the ground around the excavated surface. Thus it affects the stability of the adjacent structure as well as the excavated surface. Therefore, it is very important to predict the ground behavior and stability of adjacent structure. And nowadays, numerical analysis methods are most often used to predict the effects of ground excavation. Recent, improvements of numerical analysis programs, along with improved computer performance, have helped solve complicated ground problems. However, except some specialized numerical analysis, most numerical analysis often predicts larger excavation floor displacement than field data due to adopt the Mohr-Coulomb analysis model. As a result, it raise the problem that increasing the amount of support on ground and structure. In this study, ground behavior analysis depending on analysis model (Mohr-Coulomb, Duncan-Chang, Modified Mohr-Coulomb and Hardening Soil model) has been carried out through the numerical analysis. When numerical analysis is carried out, this study is expected to be used as a basic data for adopting a suitable analysis model in various ground excavation project.
In this paper, a track irregularity according to adjacent deep excavation of railway was analyzed using three-dimensional numerical analysis. The construction for excavation adjacent to the railway track is likely to have a negative impact on train operations. Despite mandatory assessments of the stability and impact on adjacent structures during construction, reports continue to indicate ongoing settlement and track irregularity resulting from construction. Changes in the groundwater level and stress state of the ground due to excavation are pointed out as causes for settlement and track irregularity in structures adjacent to the excavation. In this study, therefore, numerical analysis was conducted taking into account factors that induce track irregularity during adjacent excavation work as variables. The KRL-2012 standard train load was applied to simulate operating trains. As a results, The position of the train load, the distance from the excavation point, had a significant impact on track irregularity, and there was a significant occurrence of track misalignment when the train load was applied. The impact of the groundwater level was not significant.

The structure of the turnout track is very complex, so it is a facility that is more difficult to maintain and requires detailed management than a general track type. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect on the deformation of the turnout system of the ground section due to the excavation work adjacent to the serviced urban railways. In this study, based on finite element analysis for each stage of adjacent excavation, the track deformation for each major location of turnout system was analyzed in consideration of the layout of the turnout system installed on the ground section, and the safety and stability was confirmed by comparing it with the track irregularity regulation. As a result of the study, it was found that the major construction stage affecting the track deformation of the turnout system on the ground section was the final stage of excavation. In addition, although the vertical displacement which is a vertical irregularity occurred relatively large, it was analyzed that the horizontal deformation was dominant overall, because of the excavation site is located on the side of the turnout system. In addition, it was analyzed that the amount of displacement at each major location of the turnout system is different, and there is a possibility that there may be a twist irregularity due to the deviation of the track deformation for each location according to the distance from the excavation site. Therefore, it was analyzed that it is necessary to classify and manage the importance of the track deformation of the turnout system of actual operating line, including additional displacement due to adjacent excavation, based on the track irregularity that has occurred at each location where the major deformation characteristics occur.

This paper presents the results of an experimental study on the ground deformation by trench excavation for Diaphragm Wall construction. The model tests are performed to investigate the back ground deformation by lowering of slurry level in trench after excavating. Through these, the deformation characteristic of the back ground due to stress release of excavated space was investigated. This study considered relative density of soil mass and the distance between trench and surcharge. An experiment was performed in order to observe the failure pattern of a slurry-supported trench excavated in sandy ground. From model tests, in order to predict reasonably the deformation behavior of the adjacent ground due to the underground excavation, it is significantly recommended that the ground settlement by trench excavation should be considered.
Ground settlement has been occurred at asphalt pavement above ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ station passenger way adjacent to ground excavation with SPS method. In this study, emergency inspection has been conducted 4 detailed areas by KISTEC; SPS, sewage box, 50m box in subway, and ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ station. Field description and previous reports have been analyzed with the elapsed years. Not only precise inspection with several NDTs but also stability analysis by FLAC have been performed to estimated the tendency of settlement at sunk pavement area. Additional monitoring system and water analysis from sewage and SPS have been examined to scrutinize the reason and maintenance for settlement.

We find out many soft ground deep excavation cases where results of careless overexcavation accelerate the advance of loosening zone of adjacent ground, bucklings of struts and bottom heaves happen due to delayed supporting time. This article introduces a soft ground deep excavation case where steel pipe sheet piles were used with struts as an earth retaining system. There were 2 times of buckling in the supporting system and heaving of bottom ground due to overexcavation and insufficient penetration depth of the steel pipe sheet piles. The effort of this article aims to improve and develop the technique of design and construction in the coming projects having similar ground condition and supporting method.

Recently, the development of underground space is being actively carried out in the urban area by saturation, and the excavation works are mainly carried out by various excavation methods by the structures adjacent to the ground and underground excavation. During such excavation work, ground subsidence accidents are occurring due to inattention construction, lack of construction technology, and leakage of ground water. For the prevention of ground subsidence we studied the method of risk influence factors by soil investigation. Analysis of 75 sites soil investigation by U.S.C.S (Unified Soil Classification System), construction method, depth of excavation and we studied the risk influence factors with ground subsidence.
Recently, when being constructed the large structures, the deep excavations have performed to utilize the underground space. As the ground excavation is deeper, the damage of the adjacent structure and the ground is frequently occurred. the Analysis of the retaining structures is necessary to safety of the excavation works. There are many methods such as elasto-plastic theory, FEM, and FDM to analyze the displacement of the retaining structure. In this thesis, GEBA-1 program by the Nakamura-Nakajawa elasto-plastic method was developed. The lateral displacement of the wall was analyzed by the developed program GEBA-1, SUNEX, and EXCAD, and compared with the measured displacement bye the Inclinometer. The monitored fields were three excavation work site in S-I, S-II, and S-III area. Excavation method of each site is braced retaining wall using H-pile. Excavation depth is 14m, 14m, and 8.2m.
The points of this design case are the planning and excavation method of a new double-tracked railroad tunnel which is approx. 11∼22 meters apart from existing single-tracked railroad tunnel. For the optimum excavation method some needs are required in design stage, such as the reduction of noise and vibration, public resentment, damage of buildings and construction costs. Hence the estimation and application of allowable noise and vibration criterion is important. The ground coefficient (K, n) of this site is determined by field trial blasting. The excavation method is chosen to satisfy the allowable noise and vibration criterion. In addition, in order to ensure the stability of existing single-tracked railroad tunnel, the instrumentation of maintenance level is accompanied during the construction stage. As a result of this design condition, central diaphragm excavation with line drilling and pre-large hole boring blasting is applied to the area within 15 meters apart from existing tunnel. And above 15 meters apart, pre-large hole boring blasting is designed.
