  • This study aims to find out the reason that tile adhesive(type III) for ceramic tile does not harden under some conditions especially high humidity even though long curing time. Bonding strength of adhesive between substrate and ceramic tile is evaluated depending on bonding conditions such as substrate kind(concrete, board), bonding material (tile adhesive, tile cement) and curing condition(humidity 50, 70%). Based on the results, this study aimed to establish the quality of tile adhesion strength under the relevant conditions.

  • By analyzing the structure of the currently used Lead Tab tape structure, the outermost layer, low-temperature fusion functionalized olefin, was composed of pp base. To determine whether this could be used as the outermost layer of tab tape, the adhesive strength to metal foils such as copper and aluminum was measured and the adhesive strength was compared with commercially available functionalized olefin. When chlorine was grafted onto PP among the PP used in the composition, the average adhesive strength was similar to that of commercially available LT200T and superior to RE140R and LE320V. The maximum adhesive strength exceeded that of LE200T. When it comes to solvents, xylene has been shown to be better than any other. Physical methods such as substitution of other monomers, switching of additives or let-down hardly changed the adhesion of grafted PP, and the selection of PP is an important factor in preparing functional polymers.

복합레진과 Glass Ionomer Cement수복물에 대한 Bracket의 접착전단강도 (THE SHEAR BOND STRENGTH OF TWO ADHESIVES BONDED TO COMPOSITE RESIN AND GLASS IONOMER CEMENT RESTORATIONS)

  • If the bond strength is sufficient to resist orthodontic force, orthodontic brackets can be bonded to restorations. Orthodontic brackets were bonded to composite resin and glass ionomer cement restorations with no-mix adhesive or glass ionomer cement. The shear bond strength of adhesives bonded to restorations was studied in vitro. Orthodontic brackets were bonded to 10 extracted natural teeth, 40 composite resin restorations and 40 glass ionomer restorations. The surfaces of composite resin restorations were roughened or applied with bonding agent (Scothbond) after surface roughening. The surfaces of glass ionomer cement restorations were conditioned with acid etching or applied with Scotchbond to etched surface. The adhesive was no-mix resin or glass ionomer cement. The shear bond strength was measured. The results were as follows: 1. Orthodontic brackets could be bonded to composite resin restorations effectively as they could be bonded to acid etched enamel with no-mix adhesive. The shear bond strength was sufficient to resist orthodontic force and was not affected by bonding agent greatly. 2. The shear bond strength of no-mix adhesive bonded to acid etched glass ionomer cement restorations was sufficient to resist orthodontic force. However. the fracture risk of glass ionomer cement restorations was increased during debonding. The bonding agent couldn't increase the shear bond strength greatly. 3. The shear bond strength of glass ionomer cement bonded to glass ionomer cement restorations was lower than that of no-mix adhesive. The shear bond strength was sufficient to resist orthodontic force and was greatly decreased by bonding agent. 4. The shear bond strength of glass ionomer cement bonded to composite resin restorations was too low to resist orthodontic force.

자외선 경화형 점착제의 접착 및 재박리 특성 (Adhesive and Removable Characteristics of UV Curable Adhesive)

  • 아크릴계 점착제를 합성한 후 이관능성 혹은 육관능성 우레탄-아크릴레이트 올리고머를 혼합하여 자외선 경화형 점착제를 제조하였다. 올리고머 종류 및 함량을 변화시켜 그에 따른 접착력 변화와 재박리 특성을 조사하였다. 자외선 경화전에는 올리고머의 함량의 증가에 따라 박리력이 증가하였으나 자외선 경화 후에는 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 저장 탄성률(G')이 낮을수록 박리력은 증가하지만 점착제 내부의 상용성과 손실계수(tan ${\delta}$) 값에 따라 점착제의 박리정도와 접착력에 영향을 주는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

TENSILE BOND STRENGTH BETWEEN ELASTOMERIC IMPRESSION MATERIALS AND TRAY RESINS DEPENDING ON THE THICKNESS OF THE TRAY ADHESIVE

  • Statement of problem. Elastomeric impression materials have been widely used to obtain an accurate impression. However there have not been enough studies on the influence of the thickness of the tray adhesives on the bonding strength between the trays and the elastomeric impression materials. Purpose. In order to understand the relationship between the thickness of the tray adhesive and the tensile bond strength and to suggest the thickness at which the bonding strength is strongest, tensile bond strength related to the thickness of adhesives of 3 different elastomeric impression materials were tested. Materials and methods. 3 impression materials, $Permlastic^{(R)}$. Regular Set(Kerr Corp., Romulus, Michigan, U.S.A.), $Impregum^{TM}$ $Penta^{TM}$(3M ESPE, Seefeld, Germany), and Aquasil Ultra Monophase Regular Set Smart Wetting.(Dentsply Caulk, Milford, Delaware, U.S.A.), were used in this study, and tray adhesives from the same manufacturers of the impression materials were used, which were Rubber Base Adhesive, Polyether Adhesive, and Silfix, respectively. The tray specimens were prepared by autopolymerizing the tray material(Instant Tray Mix, Lang, Wheeling, Illinois, U.S.A.), and a PVC pipe was used to house the impression material. In group A, tray adhesives were applied in multiple thin layers of 1 to 5 and in group B, adhesives were applied only once, in the thickness equivalent to several applications. Lightness($L^*$) of the adhesion surface was measured with a spectrophotometer(CM-3500d, Konica Minolta, Sakai, Osaka, Japan). The tensile bond strength of the elastomeric impression material and the tray resin was measured with universal materials testing machines(Instron, Model 3366, Instron Corp, Nowood, Massachusetts, U.S.A.). A formula between the number of adhesive application layers and the lightness of the adhesion surface was deduced in group A, and the number of adhesive layers in group B was estimated by applying the lightness($L^*$) to the deduced formula. Results. 1. In group A, a statistically significant increase in tensile bond strength appeared when the number of application layers increased from 1 to 2 and from 4 to 5, and no significant difference was present between 2, 3, and 4 layers in Permlastic. In Impregum, the tensile bond strength was significantly increased when the number of adhesive layers increased from 1 to 3, but no significant difference after 3 layers. In Aquasil, the tensile bond strength significantly increased as the number of application layers increased up to 4 but showed no significant difference between 4 and 5. 2. In group B, the tensile bond strength was decreased when the thickness of the adhesive increased in Permlastic. Impregum showed an increased tensile bond strength when the thickness of the adhesive was increased. In Aquasil, the tensile bond strength increased as the number of adhesive application layers increased up to approximately 2.5 layers but it sharply decreased after approximately 4.5. Conclusion. From the study, the common idea that it is better to apply a thin and single coat of tray adhesive needs correction in more detailed ways, and instructions on some of the tray adhesives should be reconsidered since there were several cases in which the tensile bond strength increased according to the increase in the thickness of the adhesives.

Fibrin glue로부터 Ampicillin-Na의 용출 및 Tissue adhesive로서의 접착력 (Release of Ampicillin-Na from fibrin glue and its adhesive strength as a tissue adhesive)

  • 광범위 항생물질인 Ampicillin sodium(AMP-Na)을 두가지 방법 즉, 단순섞임과 bovine serum albumin(BSA)으로 microsphere화한 후 loading 하는 방법으로 fibrin glue(FG)를 제조하였고 이 FG로부터 AMP-Na의 서방성 시험을 시도하였다. 단순섞임의 경우 fibrinogen(FBNG)의 농도를 조적함으로서 FG로부터 AMP-Na의 지속적 방출을 달성할 수 있었으며 특히 이 microsphere를 glutaraldehyde로 가교화시킴으로서 용출속도를 더욱 늦출 수 있었다.(tO.9 : 33hr). FG의 rat perironeum에 대한 접착력은 FBNG과 thrombin의 농도가 각각 5.0%, 25~50 NIHU/ml에서 최대로 나타났다. Factor XIII의 농도는 0~500 U/1g of FBNG의 범위내에서 접착력에 거의 영향을 미치지 않았으며 incubation time은 60분일 때 최대로 나타났다. FG에 AMP-Na 및 BSA micorsphere를 loading하여도 접착력에는 큰 영향을 미치지 않았다.

  • 조성이 다른 접착제를 포함한 고무혼합물의 가교특성은 접착제 조성에서 탄닌이 많이 포함될수록 스코치 시간은 증가하였으며 경화속도는 다소 감소하는 것으로 보아 탄닌 분자의 크기와 형태 때문에 초기 가교반응을 지연시킴과 동시에 경화속도 역시 다소 지연됨을 알 수 있었다. 이들 고무혼합물의 인장물성 역시 탄닌이 많이 함유된 접착제를 고무에 혼합할수록 고무혼합물의 인장강도는 다소 감소하였다. 이는 탄닌이 많이 함유될수록 가교반응을 지연시켜 전체 고무혼합물의 가교도가 감소하기 때문일 것으로 사료되었다. 또한 접착제의 조성이 고무-섬유 접착에 미치는 영향을 보강코드로서 나일론 610 모노필라멘트를 사용하여 TCAT(Tire Cord Adhesion Test) 방법으로 조사하였다. 레소시놀-탄닌-포름알데히드-라텍스(RTFL) 접착제 조성에서 레소시놀 1 mole당 포름알데히드의 mole 비가 증가할수록 접착력은 증가하였고 대략 포름알데히드 5mole 이상에서 최적의 접착력을 나타냈다. 보강코드상의 접착제 수확량(DPU) 역시 최종 접착력에 영향을 미치지만, 나일론 610 모노필라멘트의 경우는 접착제 조성에 따른 DPU가 거의 일정하여 접착력의 차이는 접착제의 조성 중 탄닌의 거동 때문으로 해석될 수 있었다.

  • 회화 문화재의 표장 및 보존처리에 쓰이는 풀은 그 문화재의 수명을 좌우할 정도로 중요하기 때문에 옛날부터 풀의 제조법에 관한 연구가 있어 왔고, 이에 대한 기록이 남겨져 왔다. 기록들을 종합해 보면, 대부분 풀의 제조법에 있어 소맥의 단백질을 제거하는 것에 대한 연구가 행해졌음을 알 수 있다. 이렇게 공통적으로 보여지는 단백질 제거는 단백질이 풀에 있어서 유익하지 못한 요소를 갖고 있다는 것이었다. 실제로 단백질 함유량에 따른 굴의 접착력과 보존성의 변화에 대한 실험을 해 보았는데, 그 결과를 종합해 보면, 미생물의 영양원인 단백질의 함량이 적을수록 접착력과 보존성은 좋아지지만, 유연성은 떨어졌다. 그러나 단백질의 함량이 적으면 적을수록 룰의 보존성은 좋아지기 때문에 회화 문화재 보존처리에 쓰여야 하는 풀은 보존성이 있고, 최소한의 농도로 최대한의 접착력을 지닌 또, 가역성이 있는 소맥 전분풀이었다.

Microtensile bond strength of silorane-based composite specific adhesive system using different bonding strategies

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of pre-etching on the bond strength of silorane-based composite specific adhesive system to dentin. Materials and Methods: Thirty human molars were randomly divided into 5 groups according to the different bonding strategies. For teeth restored with silorane-based composite (Filtek Silorane, 3M ESPE), the specific self-etching adhesive system (Adhesive System P90, 3M ESPE) was used with and without pre-etching (Pre-etching/Silorane and Silorane groups). Teeth restored with methacrylate based-composite (Filtek Z250, 3M ESPE) were hybridized with the two-step self-etching system (Clearfil SE Bond, Kuraray), with and without pre-etching (Pre-etching/Methacrylate and Methacrylate groups), or three-step adhesive system (Adper Scotchbond Multi-Purpose, 3M ESPE) (Three-step/Methacrylate group) (n = 6). The restored teeth were sectioned into stick-shaped test specimens ($1.0{\times}1.0mm$), and coupled to a universal test machine (0.5 mm/min) to perform microtensile testing. Results: Pre-etching/Methacrylate group presented the highest bond strength values, with significant difference from Silorane and Three-step/Methacrylate groups (p < 0.05). However, it was not significantly different from Pre-etching/Silorane and Methacrylate groups. Conclusions: Pre-etching increased bond strength of silorane-based composite specific adhesive system to dentin.

접착제에 따른 Glued-in Rod 접합부 인발성능에 관한 실험 연구 (Experimental Study on Pull-out Strength of Glued-in Rods Connection according to Adhesive)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내에서 생산되는 목재와 접착제를 활용한 Glued-in rod 접합부의 인발성능을 평가하고자 접착제의 종류, 철근의 매입깊이 및 매입방향을 고려한 인발성능 실험연구를 수행하였다. 실험결과, 액상형 접착제 사용 실험체가 더 우수한 인발성능을 보여주었으며, 철근의 매입깊이가 길어질수록 철근의 항복을 먼저 유도하여 높은 최대 인발하중을 보여주었다. 인발성능 실험결과를 통하여 철근의 항복강도보다 접착제의 부착강도를 더 강하게 설계하는 것이 유리한 Glued-in rod 접합부 설계식을 제안하였으며, 접착제의 부착강도의 시공오차를 고려한 보정계수 0.75 또한 제안하였다.
