상호정보 최적화를 통한 영상정합 (Image Registration by Optimization of Mutual Information)

  • 본 논문에서는 다중 모달리티 영상으로부터 의미 있는 정보를 제공하기 위하여 상호정보 최적화를 통한 영상정합 방법을 제안한다. 본 방법은 두 영상이 기하학적으로 정합되면 상호정보가 최대화된다는 가정 하에 두 영상에서 대응되는 위치의 명암도간 통계적 의존관계나 정보중복성을 계산하는 상호정보를 통하여 영상간 변형관계를 추정함으로써 영상을 정합한다. 실험결과로는 뇌 컴퓨터단층촬영영상의 상호정보를 최적화한 정합결과와 가우시안형 잡음 첨가에 따른 정합 비교 결과를 제시한다. 본 방법은 기존 정합방법에서 사용하는 영상분할이나 특징점 추출에 의한 정합이 아닌 영상 자체 정보를 사용함으로써 사용자와의 상호작용이 불필요하며 정합의 정확도를 향상시킬 수 있고 잡음에도 견고하다.

Physico-Chemical Properties of Pseudoceramide in Relation to Bilayer-Forming

  • The bilayer forming ability of pseudo-ceramide PC104 in octanoic acid/water/n-octyl $\beta$-D-glucoside mixtures was investigated through the phase diagram. Because of its low solubility in water and of its crystallization, pseudoceramide PC104 was dissolved in octanoic acid, which is nontoxic additive for foods and cosmetics. The mixtures formed four different phases (L1, L2, LC and two phases). Depending on the concentration of PC104 in octanoic acid, the region of each phase was extended or contracted. On the contrary to the region of L2, regions of lamellar phase and L1 phase were expanded. The bilayer-forming ability of PC104 was explained on the basis of concentration of PC104 at interface and interaction between PC104 and octanoic acid. From FT-IR results, it was found that the interactions of PC104’s polar head group with octanoic acid increased as the amount of PC104 in octanoic acid increased. Also emulsion size and size distribution have been studied depending upon the emulsification path. droplets of emulsion prepared from lamellar phase were smaller and more homogeneous compared to those of emulsions formed from L2 phase.

Effects of Temperature, pH, and Potassium Lactate on Growth of Listeria monocytogenes in Broth

  • A total of 60 growth curves were generated with combinations of temperature, pH, and potassium lactate (PL) (60% (v/v) commercial solution) to determine the lag time (LT) and specific growth rate (SGR) of L. monocytogenes in broth. LT and SGR were significantly (P<0.05) affected by temperature, pH, concentration of PL, or the combined interaction of these factors. LT was extended and SGR was reduced significantly (P<0.05) by increased concentration of PL at lower temperature and pH. Listericidal effect was observed in the broth containing 2, 3, and 4% PL at pH 5.0 and $4^{\circ}C$. The antimicrobial activity of PL against L. monocytogenes increased when the pH of the medium was decreased at all temperatures tested. The results suggest that PL has antimicrobial properties to suppress the growth of L. monocytogenes. Potassium lactate has many potential applications as an antimicrobial additive in variety of refrigerated ready-to-eat foods.

Systems Biological Approaches Reveal Non-additive Responses and Multiple Crosstalk Mechanisms between TLR and GPCR Signaling

  • A variety of ligands differ in their capacity to bind the receptor, elicit gene expression, and modulate physiological responses. Such receptors include Toll-like receptors (TLRs), which recognize various patterns of pathogens and lead to primary innate immune activation against invaders, and G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs), whose interaction with their cognate ligands activates heterotrimeric G proteins and regulates specific downstream effectors, including immuno-stimulating molecules. Once TLRs are activated, they lead to the expression of hundreds of genes together and bridge the arm of innate and adaptive immune responses. We characterized the gene expression profile of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) in RAW 264.7 cells when it bound with its ligand, 2-keto-3-deoxyoctonate (KDO), the active part of lipopolysaccharide. In addition, to determine the network communications among the TLR, Janus kinase (JAK)/signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT), and GPCR, we tested RAW 264.7 cells with KDO, interferon-${\beta}$, or cAMP analog 8-Br. The ligands were also administered as a pair of double and triple combinations.

반성적 사고 전략을 활용한 초등학교 환경교육 프로그램의 학습 효과 (The Learning Effect of Elementary School Environment Education Program by the Reflective Thinking Strategy)

  • The environmental education is based on the assumption that accurate knowledge and attitude could be linked to real action, but those have no effect on changing the behavior. To effect the change in behavior, we need to consider the reflective thinking which can make people change their behavior. The strategies to accelerate the reflective thinking are five steps of the reflective thinking process and the interaction through the discussion of students. And also, it is more proper if the contents are based on the real experiences of the students. Thus, this study tried to know whether the improvement of reflective thinking was able to affect to the environmental behavior. The environment education program was applied to the 60 elementary school 6th grade students in Gyeonggi-do and the survey methods were presented in the general experimental curriculum. To study 6th subjects (energy, harmful chemical material, heavy metal and agricultural chemicals, food additive, environmental friendly consumption, and recycle) was developed. This study shows the effect of the program on the environment knowledge, the environment behavior, the level of reflective-thinking and communication ability.

전기방사방법에 의해 합성된 ZnO 중공 나노섬유의 trimethylamine 가스 감응 특성 (Trimethylamine Sensing Characteristics of Molybdenum doped ZnO Hollow Nanofibers Prepared by Electrospinning)

  • Pure and Mo-doped ZnO hollow nanofibers were prepared by single capillary electrospinning and their gas sensing characteristics toward 5 ppm ethanol, trimethylamine (TMA), CO and $H_2$ were investigated. The gas responses and responding kinetics were dependent upon sensing temperature and Mo doping. Mo-doped ZnO hollow nanofibers showed high response to 5 ppm TMA ($R_a/R_g=111.7$, $R_a$: resistance in air, $R_g$: resistance in gas) at $400^{\circ}C$, while the responses of pure ZnO hollow nanofibers was low ($R_a/R_g=47.1$). In addition, the doping of Mo enhanced selectivity toward TMA. The enhancement of gas response and selectivity to TMA by Mo doping to ZnO nanofibers was discussed in relation to the interaction between basic analyte gas and acidic additive materials.

양성고분자에 의한 표면사이징과 이에 의한 도공층의 구조 및 도공지 물성 변화 (Effect of Surface Sizing with Cationic Polymer Additives on the Coating Structure and Coated Paper Properties)

  • It is essential to use base papers having proper surface characteristics in coating operation for improving coated paper quality and coater runnability. To fulfill these purposes, surface sizing of coating base stock with oxidized starch is commonly practiced. Use of cationic starch for surface sizing improves coated paper quality since cationic starch penetrates less into paper structure. The immediate objective of this study was to examine the influence of surface sizing with starch solutions containing cationic polymers on the rheology of coating colors and the effect on physical properties of coated papers. Changes of rheological characteristics of coating colors placed on the plastic substrate surface sized with cationic and anionic starch were determined. Results of rheological test showed that cationic polymer surface sizing agent increased electrostatic interaction with coating colors and increased storage modulus. This new technology of using cationic polymer as surface sizing additive was considered to be advantageous for base papers at low basis weights since it would improve the coverage and optical properties of coated papers.

벼 재배 품종과 환경의 상호작용 (Genotype $\times$ Environment Interaction of Rice Yield in Multi-location Trials)

  • 강원도 지역에 적응성이 있는 품종을 선정하기 위해서 5개 시험지에서 11개 품종으로 1997년부터 2000년 동안에 수행된 결과를 분석하였다. 품종이 가지고 있는 유전적 특성은 환경요인과의 상호작용을 거쳐 발현되므로 장려품종을 선정하기 위하여 수행하는 다지역검정에서 이 유전자-환경간 상호작용을 평가하는 것은 품종의 환경안정성과 지역적응성을 올바르게 파악하는 데 매우 중요하다. 이를 위해서 기존에 활용되어 온 회귀분석모델로서 안정성을 분석하였고 AMMI model로서 지역별 수량성 반응의 변화양상을 토대로 유전자-환경간간의 상호작용을 해석하면서 각 시험지별 적응성 품종과 지역적 특성을 검토하였다. 1. 각 시험지에 대한 수량안정성 평가를 위한 회귀분석 결과 오봉벼, 진미벼, 신운봉벼, 운봉벼 등이 안정성이 있는 품종이었다. 2. AMMI 분석에 의한 수량성에 대한 분산분석 결과 전 변이중 품종변이가 66%, 품종-환경간 상호작용변이가 21%, 지역간 변이가 13%였다. 21%의 품종-환경간 상호작용 변이는 주성분분석을 통하여 제1주성분치(IPCAl)와 제2주성분치 (IPCA2)에 의해서 거의(92%) 해석되었다. 3. 품종들의 지역간 수량성 변화패턴은 육성모지나 시험지 등에 영향을 받았고, 5개 시험지의 수량변화 양상은 철원과 정선, 춘천과 고성이 비슷하였고 강릉은 다르게 구분되었다. 품종-환경간 상호작용 양상이 축약된 주성분분석치와 시험지별 재배기간동안의 순별 평균 기상자료와의 상관분석 결과를 기준으로 품종과 환경간의 상호작용에 관여하는 주요 기상요인은 초상최저온도, 최소상대습도, 일조시수 강수량 등이었다. 4. 비교적 환경안정성이 있는 품종으로는 오대벼, 오봉벼, 진부벼 등이었다. 철원에 적응성이 있는 품종은 진부벼, 신운봉벼, 오대벼, 오봉벼 등에었고, 춘천에는 진미벼 상주벼, 오대벼, 오봉벼가 정선, 강릉, 고성에는 진부찰벼, 삼천벼, 둔내벼 , 운봉벼, 진부올벼가 적응성이 있었다. 0.57, Fe 0.414, p 94.68, fat 3.74, protein 3.08, lactose 4.68,4. In case of processed market cow′s milk ; Ca 134.72, K 142.74, Mg 10.33, Na 45.07, Zn 0.50, Fe 0.650, p 92.48, fat 3.72, protein 3.07, lactose 4.74. According to the group of market milk(milk, fortified market row′s milk, processed market cow′s milk), the mean concentration of Ca and Fe were significantly higher in fortified and processed milk than milk(p<0.05). There were no significant differences in macronutrient(fat, protein, lactose) and mineral contents between pasteurized milk and UHT(ultra high temperature) treated milk($\alpha$=0.05). The labeled "Nutritional Facts" of market milk were satisfied with "Labeling Standards for Livestock Products of Korea". The measured mean concentrations of Ca, Fe, Zn were generally higher than lower limit of labeled value(above 80% of labeled value).   • 여러 형태의(n${\pi}$/m) 및 (n-${\sigma}^*$) 구조가 에너지에 미치는 구조적인 기여를 살펴보기 위하여 n-프로필아민, n-프로필아민 라디칼, trans-및 cis-에틸렌 디아민에 대한 STO-3G 수준의 계산을 수행하였다. 그 결과 (5${\pi}$/5)구조가 (4${\pi}$/4)구조는 각각 인력 및 반발의 비결합 상호작용을 나타내었으며 서로 부가관계를 가짐을 알았다. anti(n-${\sigma}^*$) 구조는 syn(n-${\sigma}^*$)구조보다 강한 hyperconjugation효과를 보이지만 anti(n-${\sigma}^*$)구조에서 강한 핵간 반발력을 가지기 때문에 결과적으로 불안정한 겉보기 효과를 나타내었다. 더우기 안정화${\pi}$ -비결합 (5${\pi}$/5)구조는 anti(${\pi}$-${\sigma}^*$)구조를, 불안정화 ${\pi}$-비결합(4${\pi}$/4)구조는 syn(n-${\sigma}^*$)구조를 수반하며 상호 보강적으로 작용함을 알았다. 또한 이러한 상호 보강성이 일반적인 성질임을 알았다. 끝으로 말단의 고립 전자쌍에 의한 through-bond 상호작용을 논의하였으며 이러한 상호작용으로 에너지 준위가 $n_+ = \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}(n_1\;+\;n_2)$$n_-\;=\;\frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}(n_1\;-\;n_2)$로 갈라지는데 이때 고립 전자쌍의 간단한 overlap pattern으로 n_준위가 안정한 준위임을 알았다.

성향정기산(星香正氣散)이 가토의 경동맥(頸動脈) 평활근(平滑筋) 긴장(緊張) 및 $Ca^{2+}$ 대사(代謝)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effect of Sunghyangchungisan on Contractile Reactivity and $Ca^{2+}$ metabolism in Isolated Rabbit Carotid Artery)

  • Objective : This study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of Sunghyangchungisan (SHCS) on the regulation of vascular tone and $Ca^{2+}$ metabolism in arterial tissues. Vascular rings isolated from rabbit carotid artery were myographed isometrically in isolated organ baths and the effect of SHCS on contractile activities, endothelial function and $Ca^{2+}$ metabolism were determined. Methods : In phentobarbital sodium-anesthetized rabbits, SHCS administered through ear vein (100 mg/Kg body wt.) or intragastric dwelling tube (300 mg/Kg body wt.) attenuated phenylephrine (PE, 10 ${\mu}g$/Kg, i.v.)-induced increases in both systolic and diastolic cartoid arterial blood pressure. Results : In experiments with isolated arterial strips, SHCS relaxed arterial rings which were pre-contracted by phenylephrine (PE, 1 ${\mu}M$). The responses to SHCS were partially dose-dependent at concentrations lower than 0.5 mg/ml. When SHCS was applied prior to the exposure to PE, it inhibited the PE-induced contraction by a similar magnitude which was comparable to the relaxation of pre-contracted arterial rings. Washout of SHCS after observing its relaxant effect resulted in a full recovery of PE-induced contractions, indicating that the action mechanism is reversible. The observation that SHCS did not change the $ED_{50)$ of PE oh its dose-response curve ruled out the possible interaction of SHCS with ${\alpha}$-receptors. The relaxant effect of SHCS was not affected by removal of endothelium or a nitric oxide synthase inhibitor, L-NAME. Methylene blue, an inhibitor of the soluble guanylate cyclase, did not affect the relaxant effect of SHCS. These results suggest that the action of SHCS is not mediated by the endothelium nor soluble guanylate cyclase. Constant cGMP production determined in arterial strips in the presence or absence of SHCS is consistent with this conclusion. When contraction was induced by additive application of $Ca^{2+}$ in arterial rings which were pre-depolarized by high $K^+$ in a $Ca^{2+}$-free solution, the relaxant effect of SHCS was attenuated by increasing the $Ca^{2+}$ concentration. SHCS, when applied to the arterial rings pre-contracted by PE and then relaxed by nifedipine, a $Ca^{2+}$ channel blocker, did not show additive relaxation. SHCS partially blocked $Ca^{2+}$ influx stimulated by PE and high $K^+$ which was determined by 5-min ^{45}Ca$ uptake, while it did not affect $Ca^{2+}$ efflux. Conclusions : From above results, it is suggested that SHCS relax PE-induced contraction of rabbit carotid artery in an endothelium independent manner, andinhibition of $Ca^{2+}$ influx may contribute to the underling mechanism.
