  • With the emergence of the fourth industrial revolution, more and more attempts have been made to apply IoT technology to the manufacturing process and launch the product. In this paper, we propose IoT authentication scheme based on hash chain which can easily apply IoT device to small and medium enterprises in Korea. In the proposed method, the companies that installed IoT devices suitable for the manufacturing environment are selected to maintain the linkage between IoT devices so that product information and release information can be efficiently collected and managed during the entire manufacturing process. In addition, the proposed scheme is characterized in that it does not require an additional encryption / decryption algorithm because the authentication information of the IoT device is constructed based on a hash chain. As a result of the performance evaluation, the efficiency of the manufacturing process was improved by 18.5% and the processing of the manufacturing process with the IoT device was shortened by 20.1% on the average according to the application of the IoT device. In addition, the labor cost reduction costs in the manufacturing process decreased by an average of 30.7%.

  • This paper presents an efficient monitoring method of a network protocol for a downloadable conditional access system (DCAS) that can securely transmit conditional access software via a bi-directional communication channel. In order to guarantee a secure channel based on mutual authentication between a DCAS head end server and set-top boxes, DCAS messages are encrypted and digitally signed. Owing to applied cryptographic algorithms, it is impossible to get information from messages directly without additional processing. Through categorizing DCAS messages into several groups, the proposed monitoring method can efficiently parse and trace DCAS messages in real-time. In order to verify the stability and effectiveness of the proposed monitoring method, we implement a DCAS monitoring system capable of capturing and parsing all DCAS messages. The experimental results show that the proposed monitoring method is well designed.

  • This paper proposes a new protection technique against deregistration attack in SIP. Although it is caused by simple spoofing the REGISTER message of a legitimate SIP UA, its impact is serious. This new protection technique identifies and protects the deregistration attack by removing a binding form the location server after delaying a certain period of time instead of removing the binding immediately after receiving deregistration message. Therefore, this technique makes it possible to establish a secure SIP environment defending the deregistraion attack without any additional overhead such as an encryption or authentication.

  • Fast IDentity Online(FIDO) supports biometric authentications in an online environment without transmitting biometric templates over the network. For a given FIDO client, the "Fuzzy Vault" securely stores biometric templates, houses additional biometric templates, and unlocks private keys via biometrics. The Fuzzy Vault has been extensively researched and some vulnerabilities have been discovered, such as brute force, correlation, and key inversions attacks. In this paper, we propose a simple fingerprint Fuzzy Vault for FIDO clients. By using the FIDO feature, a simple minutiae alignment, and point-to-point matching, our Fuzzy Vault provides a secure algorithm to combat a variety of attacks, such as brute force, correlation, and key inversions. Using a case study, we verified our Fuzzy Vault by using a publicly available fingerprint database. The results of our experiments show that the Genuine Acceptance Rate and the False Acceptance Rate range from 48.89% to 80% and from 0.02% to 0%, respectively. In addition, our Fuzzy Vault, compared to existing similar technologies, needed fewer attempts.

  • Although deregistration attack is caused by simple spoofing the REGISTER message of a legitimate SIP UA, its impact is serious. The root cause of this attack is based on the fact that RFC 3261 allows the UA to remove the binding from the Location Server. In this paper, we propose a simple protection method to allow Registrar or Location Server just to ignore deregistration messages. We also show that this method works well by analyzing the process of registration and deregistration. Without any additional overhead such as an encryption or authentication, this method is able to establish a secure SIP environment efficiently protecting against the deregistration attack.

  • Mobile agents based e-commerce system has many advantage than traditional e-commerce-information gathering on goods, price settlement and payment, delivery of the goods purchased, and so on. However, due to the security vulnerability that stems from mobile agent's mobility, mobile agents based e-commerce system has additional security problems. Therefore, in order to do e-commerce securely in th system, first of al the security issues on mobile agents must be addressed. It this paper, we propose a mobile agent transfer protocol that provides confidentiality and integrity of mobile agent in transit and mutual authentication for communicating hosts. We further show the security of the protocol against many possible attacks. Also, we suggest the location management mechanism of mobile agents based on the trust center. This mechanism is capable of finding their locations transparently and detecting mobile agent clones.

  • The services such as real-time audio and video applications have become increasingly popular, especially over the Internet. Furthermore, as being commercialized those contents on the Internet require quality of service (QoS) support to ensure their performance. PPP is the best solution to of for those kinds of services. The reason why we want to employ PPP is this satisfies most of the requirements associated with remote connectivity to an NSP, such as IP address assignment, security, and AAA (authentication, authorization and accounting). In addition, since ISPs and corporations are familiar with PPP based connectivity, easy migration from existing ISP infrastructure is expected, if QoS is guaranteed. But so for PPP has had no field to ensure the quality of service. This article presents the solution by using some tunneling protocols and the draft [1] that proposed additional LCP option fields to negotiate QoS. To communicate each other, after negotiating those option fields, over various protocols such as ATM, Ethernet, and etc. tunneling protocol is used. Following sections will mention those briefly. And the service provision to offer the end-to-end communication with negotiated QoS will also be proposed.

  • In this paper, we consider some aspects of binding properties that bind an anonymous user with messages. According to whether all the messages or some part of the messages are bound with an anonymous user, the protocol is said to satisfy the full binding property or the partial binding property, respectively. We propose methods to combine binding properties and anonymity-based authenticated key agreement protocols. Our protocol with the full binding property guarantees that while no participant's identity is revealed, a participant completes a key agreement protocol confirming that all the received messages came from the other participant. Our main idea is to use an anonymous signature scheme with a signer-controlled yet partially enforced linkability. Our protocols can be modified to provide additional properties, such as revocable anonymity. We formally prove that the constructed protocols are secure.

  • Solving the disclosure problem of sensitive information with the k-nearest neighbor query, location dummy technique, or interfering data in location-based services (LBSs) is a new research topic. Although they reduced security threats, previous studies will be ineffective in the case of sparse users or K-successive privacy, and additional calculations will deteriorate the performance of LBS application systems. Therefore, a model is proposed herein, which is based on geohash-encoding technology instead of latitude and longitude, memcached server cluster, encryption and decryption, and authentication. Simulation results based on PHP and MySQL show that the model offers approximately 10× speedup over the conventional approach. Two problems are solved using the model: sensitive information in LBS application is not disclosed, and the relationship between an individual and a track is not leaked.

  • Rapid development of internet service is enabling internet banking services in anywhere and anytime. However, service access through internet can be exposed to adversary easily. To prevent, current service providers execute authentication process with user's identification and password. However, majority of users use short and simple password and do not periodically change their password. As a result of this, user's password could be exposed to attacker's brute force attack. In this paper, we presented enhanced password system which guarantee higher security even though users do not change their current password. The method uses additional secret information to replace real password periodically without replacement of real password.
