This study was carried out to improve the thermal insulation properties of wool and wool- like fabrics by treating the fabrics with polyethylene glycol, to evaluate the fabric hand of PEG treated wool and wool-like fabrics and to grade up the fabric hand of the treated fabrics by treating with softening agents. Wool and wool-like fabrics were treated with high molecular PEG-8,000 by PDC. The thermal release/storage properties were measured on a DSC. Hand of specimens were evaluated by KES-FB system. The results were as follows; 1. PEG-treated fabrics showed thermal storage and thermal release properties by DSC and the heat contents were generally proportional to the add-ons. 2. PEG-treated fabrics showed higher Koshi and lower Numeri and Sofutosa values due to lower tensile energy and recovery and higher bending rigidity and shear stiffness as the add- ons increased. 3. PEG-treated fabrics showed much lower bending rigidity after softening agents treatment.
As a smallest unit of the game story, quest needs to be analyzed in terms of structure in order to study quest storytelling. This thesis introduces structuralist theory of narrative function of folk-tale by Propp to determine the structure of the quest. Propp proposed immutable elements of the characters as 31 kinds of Folk-tale functions. I analyzed assigning quests in MMORPG. As a result, 13 essential functions of the Quest, and 5 add-ons were drawn and the order among functions was figured out. Most quests in MMORPG followed the order of the essential functions and optional add-ons and showed a repeating pattern. The essential and optional functions and its order can be utilized to arrange appropriate element for quest storytelling and to strengthen and lead the various ways of the quest storytelling.

The purpose of this study was 1) to estimate the improvement of thermal storage/release and moisture transport properties of PEG-treated acrylic athletic socks and suggest the optimum add-on for PEG treatment, 2) to investigate wear performance of untreated cocks and two kinds of socks treated with PEG of minimum and optimum add-on respectively, and 3) to consider the effect of thermal storage/release and moisture transport properties of PEG- treated socks on the wear performance and the subjective comfort zone. Thermal activities of specimens treated by PDC were evaluated on a DSC by measuring the heat of fusion on heating and the heat of crystallization on cooling. Moisture regain, absorption speed, wickability, water retenti on value, and water-vapor permeability were measured. In the wear trials that the subjects performed a subsequent exercise protocol wearing three differently treated socks in a conditioned environment ($14\pm2^{\circ}C$, 65$\pm$2% R.H.), microclimate temperature and humidity, and subjective wear sensations including thermal sensation, wettedness, softness, fit, and overall comfort were obtained. PEC-treated specimens with more than 20% add-on showed thermal storage on heating and thermal release on cooling by a DSC and the heat contents of treated ones were generally proportional to the add-ons. Moisture transport properties were highly improved after PEG treatment and increased rapidly with increasing add-on. The tendencies were, however, relaxed above 50% add-on and the treated knits were much stiffer above that add-on. In the wear trials of untreated, PEG add-on 20%, and 50% acrylic socks, the changes of microclimate temperature of 50% socks were significantly less than that of 20% socks. PEG add-on 50% socks showed significantly less changes of microclimate humidity than other two kinds of socks. Three kinds of socks showed significant differences in overall comfort and add-on 50% socks were accepted more comfortable than other two kinds of socks. Comfort zone of foot was extended after PEG treatment on socks and it implied that the subjects wearing PEG- treated socks felt comfortable in wider ranges of microclimate temperature and humidity.
Designing effective navigation aids for customer interfaces is critical for the success of cyber shopping malls. Navigation aids can be classified into either basic ones which are based on the structure of the malls or add-ons which are not. Add-on navigation aids provide various short-cuts to promote efficient traversal in the cyber shopping malls, but too many of them would increase the complexity of the customer interface. Metaphors have been used widely for the design of add-on navigation aids, but little research evaluates their impact on the processes and outcomes of customers behavior in cyber shopping malls. This paper presents an empirical study that investigates the navigation process of customers and the subjective evaluation of their shopping experience. This research implemented two versions of a test-bed cyber shopping mall according to different metaphors used; one based on a spatial metaphor, and the other based on a non spatial metaphor. The results of the experiment indicate that navigation aids based on the spatial metaphor were used more frequently, which resulted in better understanding about the entire structure of the cyber shopping malls, which in turn led to an increased ease of finding target items and also a more pleasant shopping experience. The benefits of navigation aids based on the spatial metaphor became more evident when customers were looking for ad-hoc category items rather than common items. This paper presents plausible explanations for the results and implications to the design of navigation aids for cyber shopping malls.

Most of the web-based services are provided by a web browser. A web browser receives a text-based web page from the server and translates the received data for the user to view. There are a myriad of add-ons to web browsers that extend browser features. The browser's add-ons may access web pages and make changes to the data. This makes web-services via web browsers are vulnerable to security threats. A web browser stores web page data in memory in the DOM structure. One method that prevents modifications to web page data applies hash values to certain parts in the DOM structure. However, a certain characteristic of web-pages renders this method ineffective at times. Specifically, the user-input data is not pre-determined, and the hash value cannot be calculated prior to user input. Thus the modification to the data cannot be prevented. This paper proposes a method that both detects and inhibits any attempt to change to user-input data. The proposed method stores user-input from the keyboard and makes a comparison with the data transmitted from the web browser to detect any anomalies.
This work aims at analyzing the comparative feature about female flight attendant uniform designs of Korean and Asian region low cost carriers and providing some basic materials for development of these airline companies. As a research method, examinations were carried out on attendant's uniform both theoretically and empirically. Comparison of uniforms was made among the five Korean carriers and ten typical Asian carriers for empirical research. Results showed the followings. First, all Korean low cost carriers were characterized as formal style except Jin Air. Unlike this, Asian low cost carriers appeared as diverse including formal, semi formal, and casual styles with a uniquely differentiated image. Second, all carriers applied their own symbolic color to their uniform. Third, logo or symbol was adopted as a pattern on scarf in the two Korean companies but it didn't take effect practically. For those Asian carriers, embroidery was used on jacket, jumper and collar. They utilized even a merchandising character to put emphasis on airline image. Fourth, diverse petty items with a decorative effect were used in the case of Korean low cost carriers. In the changing period of uniform, nothing much was changed and remained almost the same as before. Those in the Asian region were characterized with the smallest number of items and the preclusion of decorative add-ons on uniform.
PTCA(1,2,3-propanetricarboxylic acid) and BTCA(1,2,3-butanetetracarboxylic acid) are selected as new nonformaldehyde agents for ester crosslinking of cotton cellulose to replace the traditional DMDHEU reagent. A goal of this research is to propose unknown ester mechanism of cotton cellulose by PTCA or BTCA using crystal structure model suggested by Meyer and Takahashi. In pursuit of these goals, we have treated 100% cotton broad cloth with PTCA or BTCA and different catalysts. They were used with $NaH_2PO_2,\;NaH_2PO_4,\;Na_2HPO_4,\;NaH_2PO_2,\;Na_3PO_4,$ catalysts to produce nonformaldehyde fabric finishes. Treatments were applied to all cotton fabrics using a pad-dry -cure process. The esterfication of cotton treated with BTCA or PTCA was investigated using Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectra and the breaking strength, abrasion retention and discoloration properties were determined to prove the durable finished fabrics. Patterns with respect to abrasion resistance were more complex. Because PTCA and BTCA add-ons were comparable, the data suggest that the more effective catalysts, $NaH_2PO_2$ and mixed phosphate $NaH_2PO_2/NaH_2PO_4$) are effecting either a great number of crosslinks in the cotton or producing crosslinks that differ in actual structure.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the thermal properties of ceramics coated nylon fabrics by determining far infra-red emissive properties, heat storage/release and thermal insulation. Far IR emissivity and emissive power were measured for 7~ 140n at 50'C . Three types of ceramics such as cordierite with $\alpha$-alumina, a-alumina with titanium oxide and a-alumina were chosen as specimens. Cordierite with $\alpha$-alumina was chosen to treat on the fabrics due to the good emissive properties on the fabrics. Add-ons and contents of ceramics were analyzed for ceramics and/or polyurethane coated fabrics. For the physical properties, thickness and air permeability were measured. Results showed a difference in the emissive property between ceramics themselves and ceramics coated fabrics. In the ambient temperature, there was no diffenence in emissivity among the different ceramics contents. Thermography showed that when the fabric was heated with the light, surface mean temperatures of fabrics were increased as the contents of ceramics increased, and the heat storage property was confirmed. In case of same thickness and air permeability, the thermal insulation value increased as the contents of ceramics increased because of increasing heat storage and Far IR reflectivity. So there were absorption and heat storage of ceramics for Far IR from human and reflection to human between ceramics coated fabrics and human.
The development of Societal and Scientific technologies have increased risk of dysfunction caused by new technologies such as nuclear power, information technology. Also, urbanization and population density is increasing risk to high-rise building fires, traffic accidents, crime and etc. Implementation of wireless communication network on the societal security is very necessary for prevention, preparation and response against these risks. It always consists maintenance, management and the network must be maintained in an emergency. In this paper, we studied the societal security wireless communication network for prevention, preparation and response against complex disasters, and analyzed requirements(essential function, add-ons) for implementation network in the societal security wireless network.
