Palmprint recognition has drawn increasingly attentions in the past decade due to its uniqueness and reliability. Traditional palmprint recognition methods usually use high-resolution images as the identification basis so that they can achieve relatively high precision. However, high-resolution images mean more computation cost in the recognition process, which usually cannot be guaranteed in mobile computing. Therefore, this paper proposes an improved low-resolution palmprint image recognition method based on residual networks. The main contributions include: 1) We introduce a channel attention mechanism to refactor the extracted feature maps, which can pay more attention to the informative feature maps and suppress the useless ones. 2) The ResStage group structure proposed by us divides the original residual block into three stages, and we stabilize the signal characteristics before each stage by means of BN normalization operation to enhance the feature channel. Comparison experiments are conducted on a public dataset provided by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieve a rank-1 accuracy of 98.17% when tested on low-resolution images with the size of 12dpi, which outperforms all the compared methods obviously.

Stereo correspondence is the central problem of stereo vision. In this paper, we propose a stereo matching scheme based on a genetic algorithm using a multi-resolution method and AD-Census. The proposed approach considers the matching environment as an optimization problem and finds the disparity by using a genetic algorithm And adaptive chronosome structure using edge pixels and crossover mechanism are employed in this technique. A cost function is composes of certain constraints whice are commonly used in stereo matching. AD-Census measure is applied to reduce disparity error. To increase the efficiency of process, we apply image pyramid method to stereo matching and calculate the initial disparity map at the coarsest resolution. Then initial disparity map is propagated to the next finer resolution, interpolated and performed disparity refinement using local feature vector. We valid our method not only reduces the search time for correspondence compared with conventional GA-based method but also ensures the validity of matching.
In the future, various products are created in various fields using artificial intelligence. In this age, it is a very important problem to know the operation principle of artificial intelligence learning method and to use it correctly. This paper introduces artificial intelligence learning methods that have been known so far. Learning of artificial intelligence is based on the fixed point iteration method of mathematics. The GD(Gradient Descent) method, which adjusts the convergence speed based on the fixed point iteration method, the Momentum method to summate the amount of gradient, and finally, the Adam method that mixed these methods. This paper describes the advantages and disadvantages of each method. In particularly, the Adam method having adaptivity controls learning ability of machine learning. And we analyze how these methods affect digital signals. The changes in the learning process of digital signals are the basis of accurate application and accurate judgment in the future work and research using artificial intelligence.

The UGV is one of the special field robot developed for mine detection, surveillance and transportation. To achieve successfully the missions of the UGV, the accurate and reliable navigation data should be provided. This paper presents design and implementation of multi-sensor-based open architecture integrated navigation for localization of UGV. The presented architecture hierarchically classifies the integrated system into four layers and data communications between layers are based on the distributed object oriented middleware. The navigation manager determines the navigation mode with the QoS information of each navigation sensor and the integrated filter performs the navigation mode-based data fusion in the filtering process. Also, all navigation variables including the filter parameters and QoS of navigation data can be modified in GUI and consequently, the user can operate the integrated navigation system more usefully. The conventional GPS/INS integrated system does not guarantee the long-term reliability of localization when GPS solution is not available by signal blockage and intentional jamming in outdoor environment. The presented integration algorithm, however, based on the adaptive federated filter structure with FDI algorithm can integrate effectively the output of multi-sensor such as 3D LADAR, vision, odometer, magnetic compass and zero velocity to enhance the accuracy of localization result in the case that GPS is unavailable. The field test was carried out with the UGV and the test results show that the presented integrated navigation system can provide more robust and accurate localization performance than the conventional GPS/INS integrated system in outdoor environments.

Due to the development and wide use of digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) and Wireless Broadband Internet (WiBro), the digital contents industry using images has been progressed. Therefore, the image processing has been applied in a variety of fields and in order to transmit and conserve accurate information, the degradation phenomenon for images should be removed. As a representative cause of the degradation phenonenon, noise has become known and Gaussian noise occurs in the process of transmission. Diverse researches for Gaussian noise removal have been implemented and a great number of algorithms have been proposed until now. In this paper, for mage restoration an algorithm using the adaptive threshold value is proposed in Gaussian noise environment and the threshold value is established by using the histogram of edge image. And from simulation results, the noise removal performance of the proposed method is proven using mean square error (MSE) and peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR).

Hanwoo have been subjected over the last seventy years to intensive artificial selection with the aim of improving meat production traits such as marbling and carcass weight. In this study, we performed a signature of selection analysis to identify recent positive selected regions driven by a long-term artificial selection process called a breeding program using whole genome SNP data. In order to investigate homozygous regions across the genome, we estimated iES (integrated Extended Haplotype Homozygosity SNP) for the each SNPs. As a result, we identified two highly homozygous regions that seem to be strong and/or recent positive selection. Five genes (DPH5, OLFM3, S1PR1, LRRN1 and CRBN) were included in this region. To go further in the interpretation of the observed signatures of selection, we subsequently concentrated on the annotation of differentiated genes defined according to the iES value of SNPs localized close or within them. We also described the detection of the adaptive evolution at the molecular level for the genes of interest. As a result, this analysis also led to the identification of OLFM3 as having a strong signal of selection in bovine lineage. The results of this study indicate that artificial selection which might have targeted most of these genes was mainly oriented towards improvement of meat production.

In this paper we have designed and implemented in real time a simple, efficient and flexible AOPCM cosec using a high speed digital processor, NEC 7720. For ADPCM system, we have used an instantaneous adaptive quantizer and a first-order fixed predictor. The software for NEC 7720 has been developed and it was found that the NEC 7720 was capable of performing the entire ADPCAt algorithm for 4 channels in real time as optimizing the program. Computer simulation has born made to investigate a computational accuracr of NEC 7720 and to de-termine necessary parameters for a ADPCM codec. Real telephone speech, RC-shaped Gaussian noise and 1004 Hz tone signal were used for simulation. In simulation, the parameters werc optimized from the computed SNR and the informal listening test. The developed software was tested in real time operation using a hardware emulator for NEC 7720. It took a maximum 23.25$\mu$s to encode one sample and 113.5$\mu$s, including all the necessary 1/0 operations, to encode 4 channels. In the case of decoding process, it took 24.75$\mu$s to decode one sample and 119.5$\mu$s to decode 4 channels.

Recently, due to the influence of the 4th industrial revolution and the development of communication media, various digital video equipment are being used in industrial fields. Image data is easily damaged by noise in the process of acquiring and transmitting and receiving from the camera and sensor, and since the damaged image has a great effect on the processing of the system, noise removal is essential. In this paper, a weight filter algorithm using a weight graph is proposed to restoration images damaged by high-density impulse noise. The proposed algorithm obtains a weight graph using pixel values inside the filtering mask of the image, and restores the image by applying the final weight to the filtering mask. Simulation was conducted to analyze the noise removal performance of the proposed algorithm, and the magnified image and PSNR were used to compare with the existing method. The resulting image of the proposed algorithm showed excellent performance by removing high-density impulse noise.
Object-oriented analysis-synthesis coding (OOASC) subdivides each image of a sequence into a number of moving objects and estimates and compensates the motion of each object. It employs a motion parameter technique for estimating motion information of each object. The motion parameter technique employing gradient operators requires a high computational load. The main objective of this paper is to present efficient motion parameter estimation techniques using the hierarchical structure in object-oriented analysis-synthesis coding. In order to achieve this goal, this paper proposes two algorithms : hybrid motion parameter estimation method (HMPEM) and adaptive motion parameter estimation method (AMPEM) using the hierarchical structure. HMPEM uses the proposed hierarchical structure, in which six or eight motion parameters are estimated by a parameter verification process in a low-resolution image, whose size is equal to one fourth of that of an original image. AMPEM uses the same hierarchical structure with the motion detection criterion that measures the amount of motion based on the temporal co-occurrence matrices for adaptive estimation of the motion parameters. This method is fast and easily implemented using parallel processing techniques. Theoretical analysis and computer simulation show that the peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) of the image reconstructed by the proposed method lies between those of images reconstructed by the conventional 6- and 8-parameter estimation methods with a greatly reduced computational load by a factor of about four.
Purpose: The purpose of this study has attempted to evaluate and compare the image evaluation and exposure dose by respectively applying Filtered Back Projection(FBP), the existing test method, and Adaptive Statistical Iterative Reconstruction(ASIR) with different values of tube voltage during the Low Dose Computed Tomography(LDCT). Materials and Methods: With the image reconstruction method as basis, Chest Phantom was utilized with the FBP and ASIR set at 10%, 20% respectively, and the change of Tube Voltage (100kVp, 120kVp). For image evaluation, Back ground noise, Signal to Noise ratio(SNR) and Contrast to Noise ratio(CNR) were measured, and, for dose evaluation, CTDIvol and DLP were measured respectively. The statistical analysis was tested with SPSS(ver. 22.0), followed by ANOVA Test conducted after normality test and homogeneity test. (p<0.05). Results: In terms of image evaluation, there was no outstanding difference in Ascending Aorta(AA) SNR and Infraspinatus Muscle(IM) SNR with the different values of ASIR application(p<0.05), but a significant difference with the different amount of tube voltage(p>0.05). Also, there wasn't noticeable change in CNR with ASIR and different amount of Tube Voltage (p<0.05). However, in terms of dose evaluation, CTDIvol and DLP showed contrasting results(p<0.05). In terms of CTDIvol, the measured values with the same tube voltage of 120kVp were 2.6mGy with No-ASIR and 2.17mGy with 20%-ASIR respectively, decreased by 0.43mGy, and the values with 100kVp were 1.61mGy with No-ASIR and 1.34mGy with 20%-ASIR, decreased by 0.27mGy. In terms of DLP, the measured values with 120kVp were $103.21mGy{\cdot}cm$ with No-ASIR and $85.94mGy{\cdot}cm$ with 20%-ASIR, decreased by $17.27mGy{\cdot}cm$(about 16.7%), and the values with 100kVp were $63.84mGy{\cdot}cm$ with No-ASIR and $53.25mGy{\cdot}cm$ with 20%-ASIR, a decrease by $10.62mGy{\cdot}cm$(about 16.7%). Conclusion: At lower tube voltage, the rate of dose significantly decreased, but the negative effects on image evaluation was shown due to the increase of noise. For the future, through the result of the experiment, it is considered that the method above would be recommended for follow-up patients or those who get health checkup as long as there is no interference on the process of diagnosis due to the characteristics of Low Dose examination.
