  • This paper proposes a decentralized robust adaptive neural network control scheme using multiple radial basis function neural networks for electrically driven robot manipulators with bounded input voltages in the presence of uncertainties. The proposed controller considers both robot link dynamics and actuator dynamics. Practically, the controller gain coefficients applied at each joint may be nonlinear time-varying and the input voltage at each joint is saturated. The proposed robot controller overcomes the various uncertainties and the input voltage saturation problem. The proposed controller does not require any robot and actuator parameters. The adaptation laws of the proposed controller are derived by using the Lyapunov stability analysis and the stability of the closed-loop control system is guaranteed. The validity and robustness of the proposed control scheme are verified through simulation results.

스마트 폼을 이용한 덕트 내부의 능동 소음 제어 (Active Noise Control in a Duct Using Smart Foam)

  • In this paper is presented passive-active noise control in a duct using a ring-type smart foam. The ring-type smart foam is comprised of a PVDF film embedded in elastic noise control foam of lining shape. The embeddedPVDF element acts as an actuator to reduce noise at lower frequencies and the foam absorbs noise at higher frequencies. By implementing an adaptive filtered-x LMS algorithm, experiments are performed to reduce both tonal and broadband noise in a duct with one end closed and the other end open.

  • GNSS receiver which uses the weak satellite signal is very vulnerable to the intentional jamming or non-intentional electromagnetic interference. One of the best method to overcome this disadvantage is to use an adaptive array antenna which has the capability of beamforming or nulling to the certain direction. In this paper, the performance of spatial adaptive null pattern control algorithm of 5 element array antenna is analyzed. A control algorithm which is designed in the 5 element array antenna is OPM(Output Power Minimization) which is eliminating the correlation characteristics between a reference antenna and the others. This algorithm can be applied effectively to the satellite navigation's CRPA because the satellite direction is not considered and GNSS signal power is below the thermal noise. The feature of the OPM algorithm is analyzed and the performance is compared with other null pattern control algorithm.

Automatic Berthing Control of Ship Using Adaptive Neural Networks

  • In this paper, an adaptive neural network controller and its application to automatic berthing control of ship is presented. The neural network controller is trained online using adaptive interaction technique without any teaching data and off-line training phase. Firstly, the neural networks used to control rudder and propeller during automatic berthing process are presented. Secondly, computer simulations of automatic ship berthing are carried out in Pusan bay to verify the proposed controller under the influence of wind disturbance and measurement noise. The results of simulation show good performance of the developed berthing control system.

  • 능동 소음제어시스템의 적응필터 알고리즘으로 FIR구조가 많이 사용되고 있으나, FIR 필터는 IIR 필터에 비해 비슷한 성능을 얻기 위해 필터의 차수가 커져야 하므로 계산량이 많아지는 단점이 있다. IIR 필터의 경우는 항상 극점이 존재하므로 안정성에 문제가 많으며 능동 소음 제어 시스템의 작동 초기에 IIR 필터의 극점이 z평면에서 단위 원 밖으로 나가는 경우 시스템 자체가 불안정해질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 초기에 IIR 필터의 극점을 원점방향으로 끌어당겨 안정도를 개선하고 정상상태에는 원위치로 보내 필터성능에는 영향을 미치지 않는 안정도가 강화된 적응 IIR 필터 알고리즘을 제안한다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 안정도가 개선된 IIR 필터의 성능이 우수함을 확인하였으며, 소음실에서 TMS320C6701 DSP 칩을 사용하여 소음제어 실험을 한 결과 안정되게 l0㏈ 이상의 소음 감쇄 효과를 얻었다.

  • This paper deals with adaptive fuzzy logic controller design to achieve proper dynamic response of a composite thin-walled beam with a tip mass. In order to check the effectiveness of this controller, three different types of control logic are selected and applied. The adaptive control capabilities provided by a system of piezoactuators bonded or embedded into the structure are also implemented in the system. Results show that the fuzzy logic controller is more effective than the proportional or velocity feedback controller for the vibration control of composit thin-walled beam with a tip mass.

  • 본 연구에서는 Wiener 필터링 이론에 의하여 소음원의 입력신호에 대한 최적 한 예측을 할 수 있는 최적예측기(optimal predictor)로써 부가적인 음을 발생시키고 입력신호 및 출력신호 간의 차인 오차를 최소화시키도록 하는 적응신호처리방법에 대 해 설명하고 이러한 적응 신호처리 방법을 이용한 능동 소음 제어 방법을 제시하였다. 이와 아울러 제어계의 환경 변화에 따른 파라메타의 변화에 적응적으로 응답이 가능해 야 하는 적응 소음 제어계에서, 음향궤환과 함께 필히 고려해야하는 부가적인 전달함 수-모델과 스피커를 포함하는 보조경로 및 오차미이크로폰을 포함하는 오차경로의 전 달함수의 영향을 고려한 능동소음제어에 대해 연구하였다.

Design of Adaptive Fuzzy IMM Algorithm for Tracking the Maneuvering Target with Time-varying Measurement Noise

  • In real system application, the interacting multiple model (IMM) based algorithm operates with the following problems: it requires less computing resources as well as a good performance with respect to the various target maneuvering, it requires a robust performance with respect to the time-varying measurement noise, and further, it requires an easy design procedure in terms of its structures and parameters. To solve these problems, an adaptive fuzzy interacting multiple model (AFIMM) algorithm, which is based on the basis sub-models defined by considering the maneuvering property and the time-varying mode transition probabilities designed by using the mode probabilities as the inputs of the fuzzy decision maker whose widths are adjusted, is proposed. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, a radar target tracking is performed. Simulation results show that the proposed AFIMM algorithm solves all problems in the real system application of the IMM based algorithm.

Feedback Active Noise Control Based Voice Enhancing Ear-Protection System

  • This paper proposes a voice enhancing ear-protection system which is based on feedback active noise control(FBANC). The proposed system selectively suppresses the background noise and preserves the talking voice by controlling the adaptive algorithm with the voice activity period detection module. The noise reduction performance of the proposed noise canceling algorithm is analytically derived for the two key performance affecting parameters, i.e., electro-acoustic coupling distance and noise bandwidth. The proposed system is also implemented with a floating-point DSP system and its performance is experimentally tested to compare with the analytically derived results. The achieved levels of noise reduction for the three different noise bandwidths cases, i.e., 10Hz, 50Hz, and 90Hz, are high to show 17.05dB, 10.54dB and 8.99dB, respectively. The feasibility of the proposed system is also shown by the peak noise reduction achieved more than 25dB while preserving the voice component in the frequency range between 200-800Hz.

제한 Filtered-x LMS 알고리즘을 이용한 능동 소음제어 (Active Noise Control using Constrained Filtered-x LMS Algorithm)

  • Many of the adaptive noise control systems utilize a form of the least mean square (LMS) algorithms. In the active control of noise, it is common practice to locate an error microphone far from the control source to avoid the near-field effects by evanescent waves. Such a distance between the control source and the error microphone makes a certain level of time-delay inevitable and, hence, may yield undesirable effects on the convergence properties of control algorithms such as filtered-x LMS. This paper discusses the dependence of the convergence rate on the acoustic error path in these popularalgorithms and introduces new algorithms which increase the convergence region regardless of the time-delay in the acoustic error path. Performances of the new LMS algorithms are presented in comparison with those by the conventional algorithms based on computer simulations and experiments.
