Although it is known that there are personality characteristic variances in the sensitivity to environmental feedback, the trait individual difference has scarcely been explored in the context of recognition memory decision. The present study investigated this issue by examining the relationship between the feedback-based adaptive flexibility of recognition criterion positioning and personality differences in general sensitivity to non-laboratory outcomes. Experiment 1 demonstrated that veridical feedback itself had little effect on the recognition decision criterion whereas Experiment 2 demonstrated that biased feedback manipulations selectively restricted to high confidence errors, induced shifts even in the overall Old/New category criterion. Critically, individual differences in stable personality characteristic linked to reward seeking(Behavioral Activation System-BAS) and anxiety avoidance (Behavioral Inhibition System-BIS) has been shown to predict the sensitivity of subjects to this form of feedback-induced criterion learning. This data further support the idea that incremental reinforcement-based learning mechanism not often considered important during explicit recognition decisions may play a key role in criterion setting.
In this paper, we propose an optimal path search algorithm between each node and midpoint that applies the time weighting. Services for using a location of mid point usually provide a mid point location-based on the location of users. There is a problem that is not efficient in terms of time because a location-based search method is only considered for location. To solve the problem of the existing location-based search method, the proposed algorithm sets the weights between each node and midpoint by reflecting user's location information and required time. Then, by utilizing that, it is possible to search for an optimum path. In addition, to increase the efficiency of the search, it ensures high accuracy by setting weights adaptively to the information given. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is able to find the optimal path to the midpoint compared with the existing method.

To minimize energy consumption, most of MAC Protocols in WSNs exploit low duty cycling. Among those, RMAC [4] allows a node to transmit a data packet for multiple hops in a single duty cycle, which is made possible by exploiting a control frame named Pioneer (PION) in setting up the path. In this paper, we present a MAC Protocol called Hop Extended MAC (HE-MAC) that transmits the data packet for more multiple hops in a single duty cycle. It employs an EXP (Explorer) frame to set up the multiple hop transmission, which contains the information of the maximum hop that a packet can be transmitted. With the use of the information in EXP and an internal state of Ready to Receive (RTR), HEMAC extends the relay of the packet beyond the termination of the data period by two more hops compared to RMAC. Along with our proposed adaptive sleeping method, it also reduces power consumption and handles heavy traffic efficiently without experiencing packet inversion observed in RMAC. We analytically obtain the packet delivery latency in HE-MAC and evaluate the performance through ns-2 simulations. Compared to RMAC, HE-MAC achieves 14% less power consumption and 20% less packet delay on average for a random topology of 300 nodes.

Utilization of information and communication technologies is commonly accepted as important to value creation in the knowledge economy. Nevertheless, empirical findings from our business case studies often show that while sophisticated technological tools may be developed, the potentials are not realized. It is evident that technology is subject to adaptive and emergent strategies of use, diverging from the original intention. Within this space of opportunities, we elaborate the importance of constructing strategic concepts as communication tools to support organisational implementation of technologies. We use the concept of organisational implementation as a way of taking the technology into use in order to support changes and value creation in the user organisation. In this paper we present our findings related to how use and experiences are conditioned by the users' expectations. We have conducted a business case study in order to understand and explore how users employ and use a particular wireless technology infrastructure. On behalf of the infrastructure vendor, we have studied three different organisations that use this technology. The overall research goal of our joint research project was to find out what is good use and for whom. We find that users struggle to go beyond the expectations they had when they were conceptualising and telling us about their practice. We have good indications that a narrowed consciousness was also conditioning the users' use of the technology. In this paper we draw the conclusion that technological implementations towards changing work practices and value creation must not be viewed by the company solely as a knowledge acquisition process, but as a process of knowledge creation. Organisational implementation is an ongoing process, a learning process at both the organisational and individual level. Flexible tools and technologies are constituted and shaped in interaction and communication in the workplace. Based on that knowledge, we build up an argument for an organisational implementation framework, including strategic discussions, learning spaces, and concept constructions.

In Military MicroWave communication, the distance of link, availability, transmission capacity is the important point in order to design the circuit. Currently, operated by fixed modulation, in the future it will be evolved to the modulation techniques enabled to increase the transmission capacity. It would be hard to consistently guarantee the transmission quality of the high-availability because the occurrence probability of fading increase in terms of the link distance for the case of the long distance. In the case of the modulation techniques for the transmission of high-capacity, as the distance is long, a falling-off in the fade margin from the link budget analysis cause the decrease in the availability. It is difficult to provide QoS guaranteed connection. In this paper, we propose the performance improvement technique of transmission by the variable allocation of the bandwidth and the higher priority transmission technique using setting the ratio of the higher priority capacity in association with the distance of link. Also we suggest the alternative of the calculation for channel transmission capacity to design the circuit.

Data collected by sensors in field are transmitted to the base station gathering all of data. Because sensors have to gather data in surroundings and periodically transmit data to the base station, it makes energy consumed much. In this paper, we propose the scheme that is to avoid traffic congestion with achievement of energy efficiency, so collected data is transmitted efficiently. This is to adjust transmission rate differently in case of increasing or decreasing traffic and minimize the energy consumption with setting ideal options up basic CSMA(Carrier Sense Multiple Access) protocol in each sensor. Through the simulation, we find the ideal CSMA options and apply the proposed scheme of traffic control mechanism to them, then show energy efficiency and effective traffic control mechanism.

Recognition of CW Morse signals can be divided into several phases such as detection of tones and spaces, signal processing for removing noise from detected signals, decision of tones/spaces, mapping a sequence of tones and spaces into characters, error correction of a character message with textual repetition. In this paper, in order to cope with signal fading effectively we propose a signal detection method of identifying peaks in the frequency domain and present techniques for combining multiple frequency peaks and for removing residual signal components and noise. LMS adaptive method is applied for decision of tones/spaces, and initial value setting and malfunctioning conditions are analyzed. In recognition experiments, we used CW Morse signals collected by radio receivers and found that the proposed method achieves good recognition performance even in severe fading conditions.

Whole body energy balance is achieved through the coordinated regulation of energy intake and energy expenditure in various tissues including liver, muscle and adipose tissues. A positive energy imbalance by excessive energy intake or insufficient energy expenditure results in obesity and related metabolic diseases. Although there have been many obesity treatment trials aimed at the reduction of energy intake, these strategies have achieved only limited success because of their associated adverse effects. Serotonin is among those traditional pharmacological targets for anti-obesity treatment because central 5-HT functions as an anorexigenic neurotransmitter in the brain. Thus, there have been many trials aimed at increasing the activity of 5-HT in the central nervous system, and some of the developed methods are already used in the clinical setting as anti-obesity drugs. However, recent studies suggest the new functions of peripheral serotonin in energy homeostasis ranging from the endocrine regulation by gut-derived serotonin to the autocrine/paracrine regulation by adipocyte-derived serotonin. Pharmacological inhibition of 5-HT synthesis leads to inhibition of lipogenesis in epididymal white adipose tissue (WAT), induction of browning in inguinal WAT and activation of adaptive thermogenesis in brown adipose tissue (BAT). Fat specific Tph1 knock-out (Tph1 FKO) mice exhibit similar phenotypes as mice with pharmacological inhibition of 5-HT synthesis, suggesting the localized effects of 5-HT in adipose tissues. In addition, Htr3a KO mice exhibit increased energy expenditure in BAT and Htr2a KO mice exhibit the decreased lipid accumulation in WAT. These data suggest the clinical significance of the peripheral serotonergic system as a new therapeutic target for anti-obesity treatment.

Recently the huge demand for Internet media streaming has dramatically increased the cost of the CDN (Content Delivery Network) and the need for a means to reduce it is increasing day by day. In this situation, a P2P-assisted DASH technology has recently emerged, which uses P2P (Peer-to-Peer) communications based on WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) standards to reduce the CDN cost. This paper proposes an algorithm that can significantly improve CDN cost savings in this technology by selecting peers based on the transport history. Also we implemented this algorithm in an experimental system and, after setting experimental conditions that emulate the actual mobile network environment, we measured the performance of the experimental system. As a result, we demonstrated that the proposed algorithm can achieve higher CDN cost savings compared to the conventional algorithm where peers are selected at random.

The purpose of this study is to propose a modeling methodology through the exchange of coordinate data of a three-dimensional custom curtain wall panel between Rhino and Revit, and to examine the validity of the model implemented in the drawing. Although the modeling means and method are different, a fundamental principle is that all three-dimensional modeling begins by defining the position of the points, the most primitive element of geometry, in the XYZ coordinate space. For the BIM modeling methodology proposal based on this geometry basic concept, the functions and characteristics associated with the points of Rhino and Revit programs are identified, and then BIM implementation process model is organized and systemized through the setting of the interoperability process algorithm. The BIM implementation process model proposed in this study is (1) Modeling and panelizing surface into individual panels using Rhino and Grasshopper; (2) Extraction of vertex coordinate data from individual panels and create CSV file; (3) Curtain wall modeling through Adaptive Component Family in Revit and (4) Automatic creation of Revit curtain wall panels through API. The proposed process model is expected to help reduce design errors and improve component and construction quality by automatically converting general elements into architectural meaningful information, automating a set of processes that build them into BIM data, and enabling consistent and integrated design management.
