Nowadays Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are a very popular and emerging technology in the world. MANETs helps mobile nodes to communicate with each other anywhere without using infrastructure. For this purpose we need good routing protocols to establish the network between nodes because mobile nodes can change their topology very fast. Mobile node movements are very important features of the routing protocol. They can have a direct effect on the network performance. In this paper, we are going to discuss random walk and random waypoint mobility models and their effects on routing parameters. Previously, mobility models were used to evaluate network performance under the different routing protocols. Therefore, the network performance will be strongly modeled by the nature of the mobility pattern. The routing protocols must rearrange the changes of accurate routes within the order. Thus, the overheads of traffic routing updates are significantly high. For specific network protocols or applications, these mobility patterns have different impacts.

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are infrastructure-less, autonomous, and stand-alone wireless networks with dynamic topologies. Recently, cluster-based ad hoc networks which enhance the security and efficiency of ad hoc networks are being actively researched. And routing protocols for cluster-based ad hoc networks are also studied. However, there are few studies about secure routing protocols in cluster-based ad hoc networks. In this paper, we propose secure routing protocol for cluster-based ad hoc networks. We use Diffie-Hellman key agreement, HMAC, and digital signature to support integrity of routing messages, and finally can perform secure routing.
VANET (Vehicular Ad-hoc Network) is a mobile Ad-hoc Network which deals with the moving vehicles. VANET supports Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) which is related to different modes of transport and traffic management techniques. VANETs enabled users to be informed and make them safer. VANET uses IEEE 802.11p standard wireless access protocol for communication. An important and necessary issue of VANET is to design routing protocols. In a network, communication takes place by the use of the routing protocols. There are mainly two types of communications used such as Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I) in VANET. Vehicles can send and receive messages among them and also to and from infrastructure used. In this paper, AODV, DSR and DSDV are compared by analysing the results of simulation on various metrics such as average throughput, instant throughput, packet delivery ratio and residual energy. Findings indicates utilization of AODV and DSR is more applicable for these metrics as compared to DSDV. A network simulator (NS2) is used for simulation.

FANET (Flying ad-hoc network) is a self-adjusting wireless network that enables easy to deploy flying nodes, inexpensive, flexible such as UAV in the absence of fixed network infrastructure they communicate amoung themselves. Past few decades FANET is only the emerging networks with it's huge range of next-generation applications.FANET is a sub-set of MANET's(Mobile Ad-hoc Network) and UAV networks are known as FANET.Routing enables the flying nodes to establish routes to radio access infrastructure specifically FANET and among themselves coordinate and collaborate. This paper presents a review on existing proposed communication architecture and routing protocols for FANETS.In addition open issues and challenges are summarized in tabular form with proposed solution. Our goal is to provide a general idea to the researchers about different topics to be addressed in future.

Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) are self-configuring networks where the nodes are vehicles equipped with wireless communication technologies. In such networks, limitation of signal coverage and fast topology changes impose difficulties to the proper functioning of the routing protocols. Traditional Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET) routing protocols lose their performance, when communicating between vehicles, compromising information exchange. Obviously, most applications critically rely on routing protocols. Thus, in this work, we propose a methodology for investigating the performance of well-established protocols for MANETs in the VANET arena and, at the same time, we introduce a routing protocol, called Genetic Network Protocol (G-NET). It is based in part on Dynamic Source Routing Protocol (DSR) and on the use of Genetic Algorithms (GAs) for maintenance and route optimization. As G-NET update routes periodically, this work investigates its performance compared to DSR and Ad Hoc on demand Distance Vector (AODV). For more realistic simulation of vehicle movement in urban environments, an analysis was performed by using the VanetMobiSim mobility generator and the Network Simulator (NS-3). Experiments were conducted with different number of vehicles and the results show that, despite the increased routing overhead with respect to DSR, G-NET is better than AODV and provides comparable data delivery rate to the other protocols in the analyzed scenarios.

In this paper, we propose a zone based ad hoc network construction scheme which support ad hoc path between nodes in local IoT networks consisting of IoT devices with the constrained feature, such as low power, the limited transmission rate and low computing capacity. Recently, the various routing protocols have been studied to support ad hoc networking of local IoT environments. This is, because basis RPL protocol is deigned to be used for the connecting service with Internet through gateway, ad hoc path between nodes in local IoT networks is not supported in basis RPL protocol. Thus, in this paper, the proposed routing scheme provides both ad hoc path and Infra path through gateway, supporting basis RPL protocol simultaneously. Through simulation, we show that the proposed routing scheme with zone based path selection scheme improves the performance of the success rate of end-to-end data transmission and the end-to-end delay, compared to basis RPL protocol.
Ad hoc networks are characterized by multi- hop wireless connectivity, frequently changing network topology and the need for efficient dynamic routing protocols. In this paper, we proposed a new technique to adjust the zone radius by concentrating the changes of network traffic in a particular direction, which we refer to as AZRP. We demonstrate that even though ZRP and AZRP share a similar hybrid routing behavior, the differences in the protocol mechanics can lead to significant performance differentials. We discuss the algorithm and report on the performance of AZRP scheme, and compare it to the ZRP routing protocol. Our results indicate clearly that AZRP outperforms ZRP by reducing significantly the number of route query messages. And thereby increases the efficiency of the network load.

In this paper, Ad-hoc network is a collection of mobile nodes without any wired infrastructure. Design of efficient routing protocols in ad-hoc network is a challenging issue. An AODV routing protocol for wireless ad hoc networks one that searches for and attempts to discover a route to some destination node. We propose a technique that reduce the number of Routing packet. Our technique use variable values reflecting the condition of network. This also contributes to improve throughput.

Due to the characteristics of an ad hoc network without a control center, self-organization, and flexible topology, the trust evaluation of the nodes in the network is extremely difficult. Based on the analysis of ad hoc networks and the blockchain technology, a blockchain-based node-level trust evaluation model is proposed. The concepts of the node trust degree of the HASH list on the blockchain and the perfect reward and punishment mechanism are adopted to construct the node trust evaluation model of the ad hoc network. According to the needs of different applications the network security level can be dynamically adjusted through changes in the trust threshold. The simulation experiments demonstrate that ad-hoc on-demand distance vector(AODV) Routing protocol based on this model of multicast-AODV(MAODV) routing protocol shows a significant improvement in security compared with the traditional AODV and on-demand multipath distance vector(AOMDV) routing protocols.
A wireless ad-hoc network is a temporal network formed by a collection of wireless mobile nodes without the aid of any existing network infrastnlcture or centralized administration. Currently, numerous routing protocols have been developed for changing messages between nodes in a wireless ad-hoc network. Applications of wireless ad-hoc network technology are various and proper routing protocol must be used according to application domain or network size. In a wireless ad-hoc network. some hosts want services from fixed networks. For supporting such services, it is necessary to interconnect wireless ad-hoc networks and fixed networks. The DSMIHDynamic Source Multipath Routing) protocol, proposed in this paper, focuses on supporting seamless communication services between the nodes within a wireless ad-hoc network and providing fixed networks to the mobile hosts in wireless an-hoc networks. In DSMR protocol, each node need not broadcast routing messages periodically. and mobile hosts that to send data packets initiate route request and route establishment procedure. By maintaining multiple paths in each node. faster route re-establishment is also possible in our scheme.
