Despite their tilde application of some traditional project management techniques like the Program Evaluation and Review Technique, they lack of learning, one of important factors in many disciplines today due to a static view far prefect progression. This study proposes a framework for estimation by learning based on a Linear Bayesian approach. As a project progresses, we sequentially observe the durations of completed activities. By reflecting this newly available information to update the distribution of remaining activity durations and thus project duration, we can implement a decision support system that updates e.g. the expected project completion time as well as the probabilities of completing the project within talc due date and by a certain date. By Implementing such customized systems, project manager can be aware of changing project status more effectively and better revise resource allocation plans.
This study proposes a web presence readiness model based on pre-payment service functions and a post-payment service function both of which embrace the major concerns of customers in the online purchasing context. Based on the concept of customer utility from the product itself and instrumental utility, the research model suggests four antecedents including, Perceived Economic Benefits, Product Search Support Quality, e-Shopping Method Diversity, and Post-Payment Support Quality. We empirically examined a proposed research model using data collected from online rating company websites. Among the four antecedents, post payment support quality is found to be the most influential determinant of customer evaluation on e-commerce websites. Based on the empirical results, the current study proposes an alternate model of web presence readiness. The findings of this study may provide an insight to field practitioners designing commercial websites. The implications and future research directions are further discussed.

■ Objectives This study is to examine change of gait parameters on shoes sole height(high heels, MBT shoes, house shoes) through gait analyzer. ■ Methods The subjects of this study were 12 women in their twenties. Gait analysis system is 5m in total length and gait is led to be comfortable. They put three kinds of shoes each and were led to walk 5m on gait analysis system. ■ Results There were significant differences in step length, single support and load response of gait parameters and in stride length and total double support at double support phase. ■ Conclusion Muscle activity differs in that different that shoes sole height and form because tibialis anterior muscle has strengthen and gastrocnemius has stretched. Therefore we think that patients with knee joint problem consider gait parameters when shoes select.
The primary purposes of this study are to develop a Situated Learning Support System based on an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) and to investigate applications of Situated Learning theory both hypothetically and practically. In Situated Leaning theory, cognition is interpreted as a dynamic system related to situation, context and activity. According to this theory, learning context, social interaction and personal direct experience are also emphasized. A virtual reality learning system based on an MMORPG provides context, social interaction and a learning environment able to provide direct experiences. However, such a system has been difficult for teachers to develop. This study aims to develop a support system facilitating the construction of a Situated Learning System based on an MMORPG. This study proposes new research and practical applications of Situated Learning theory using educational games.
The objective of the study was to determine the degree of social support and the quality of life of the 200 colostomy patients who are members of the Korea Ostomy Association. Data was collected by means of a questionnaire which was distributed Foully six Percent of the 200 colostomy patients returned the questionnaire during the period from Mar. 3-Mar. 31. 1986. The results of the study were as follows: 1. The score of the social support was 93.4598 (S.D-20.1787) and the highest score for respect Iron other people was 102.00. 2. The mean score of the quality of life was 3.11 (S.D. 0.58) The highest score for Pull attention received from the family was 3. 85 and the lowest score for insufficient sexual activity was 2.34. 3. The correlation between social support and the quality of life was (r=.1787, p<.05) when the quality of life score was high the social support score was also high. 4. The variables that were found to have a significant correlation to the social support were a9e (r=.2039, p<.05) and number of people who could help them (r=.2847 p<.01) 5. The variables that were found to have a significant correlation to the quality of life were the level of the living standard (F=4.534, p< .05) and the individuals perception of their health. status(F=18.943, p<.001) =Recommendations= The results of this study show that there is a significant correlation between the social support of the individual and the quality of life. It is important for nurses to support self-help groups of colostomy patients as this will contribute highly to the betterment of the quality of the life of patients who have colostomies.
Walking shoes for walking and jogging have been used to enjoy lots of leisure time. Functional shoes such as walking shoes have special functions to improve body motility by changing of shoe shapes. The walking shoes could improve the motility by structural transformation of outsole as increase degrees of heel and toe. The study on insoles has not been conducted enough on the contrary of the study of outsole. The purpose of this study is to perform ergonomics analysis whether the Arch Supported insoles have an improving effect of muscle activities or not. Experiments were performed with 6 subjects who are health and haven't experienced any diseases past. EMG(Electromyography) and Foot Pressures were measured repeatedly for 5 seconds at 0 hour, after 1 hour and after 2 hours of walking. Insoles used for experiment are normal insole, insole inserted Arch Support and pad. The electrodes for EMG measurement were set on waist (erector spinae), and thigh (vastus lateralis), calf (gastrocnemius). Evaluations of EMG were analyzed by shift of MF (Median Frequency) and MPF (Mean Power Frequency). Foot Pressure was analyzed by mean pressure of feet and change of walking time. As results, Arch Support insole had larger frequency shift value than that of normal insole. Frequency shift between Arch Support insoles and normal insole showed significant difference on 95% confidence interval. And insole 1 has the highest value of frequency shift. For results of foot pressure, Arch Support insoles show continuous decreasing tendency when comparing with normal insoles by changing of times. Also, insole 1 has the highest decreasing value of foot pressure. Therefore, this study presented that the Arch Support insole can promote muscle activities and improves comfort for a prolonged walking.
We investigate the role of small-scale and large-scale environments in triggering nuclear activity of the local galaxies using a volume-limited sample with $M_r$ < -19.5 and 0.02 < z < 0.0685 from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7. To fix the mass of the supermassive black hole in its host galaxy, we limit the central velocity dispersion of the sample galaxies. The active galactic nuclei (AGN) host sample is composed of Type II AGNs identified with flux ratios of narrow emission lines with S/N > 6. In this study, we find that the AGN fraction of late-type host galaxies are commonly larger than of early type galaxies. The AGN fraction of host galaxy with late-type nearest neighbor starts to increase as the host galaxy approaches the virial radius of the nearest neighbor (about a few hundred kpc scale). Our result may support the idea that the hydrodynamic interaction with the nearest neighbor plays an important role in triggering the nuclear activity of galaxy. The early-type galaxies in high density regions show decline of AGN activity compared to ones in lower density regions, whereas the direction of the environmental dependence of AGN activity for late-type galaxies is rather opposite. We also find that the environmental dependence of star formation rate is analogous to one of AGN activity except in the high density region.
This study was designed to identify the effects of Reynoutria Japonica on antibacterial activity aganist Bordetella pertussis ATCC 9797 which is cause of whooping cough. The ethanol- and water-extracts of more than 80 oriental herbal medicine were Investigated by Kirby -Bauer method to determine their inhibitory effects on growth of B. pertussis ATCC 9797 in vitro. For that Reynoutria Japonica was selected. The ethanol-soluble extract of Reynoutria Japonica showed relatively high antivacterial activity against B. pertussis ATCC 9797. However, the water-soluble extract of Reynoutria Japonica showed no antibacterial activity. The ethanolic extract was further fractionated with organic solvents such as hexane, chloroform, and ethyl acetate, in that order. Among the fraction tested, the chloroform fraction showed the highest antibacterial activity when the ethanol-soluble extract of Reynoutria Japonica minial inhibitory concentration(MIC) was $25{\mu}g/m{\ell}l$. Results support a role far Reynoutria Japonica in inhibiting the cell growth of B. pertussis ATCC 9797, but further experimentation is required.

Colloidal synthesis of nanoparticles with well-controlled size, shape, and composition, together with development of in situ surface science characterization tools, such as ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (APXPS), has brought new opportunities to unravel the surface structure of working catalysts. Recent studies suggest that surface oxides on transition metal nanoparticles play an important role in determining the catalytic activity of CO oxidation. In this talk, I will outline the recent studies on the influence of surface oxides on Rh, Pt, Ru and Co nanoparticles on the catalytic activity of CO oxidation [1-3]. Transition metal nanoparticle model catalysts were synthesized in the presence of poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) polymer capping agent and deposited onto a flat Si support as two-dimensional arrays using the Langmuir-Blodgett deposition technique. APXPS studies exhibited the reversible formation of surface oxides during oxidizing, reducing, and CO oxidation reaction [4]. General trend is that the smaller nanoparticles exhibit the thicker surface oxides, while the bigger ones have the thin oxide layers. Combined with the nature of surface oxides, this trend leads to the different size dependences of catalytic activity. Such in situ observations of metal nanoparticles are useful in identifying the active state of the catalysts during use and, hence, may allow for rational catalyst designs for practical applications. I will also show that the surface oxide can be engineered by using the simple surface treatment such as UV-ozone techniques, which results in changing the catalytic activity [5]. The results suggest an intriguing way to tune catalytic activity via engineering of the nanoscale surface oxide.
