The purpose of this study was to examine difference in life satisfaction by social activity type in baby boomers. Sampling 1,115 baby boomers, gender and region were assigned. A questionnaire survey was carried out from August to October in 2011. As a result of research, first, the typology of social activity in baby boomers includes 3 groups. The passive social-participation type is the cluster to which 36.8% of the baby boomers belong. They do not join income activity or civic-group activity at all. A case of doing religious activity or family activity includes a minority. There are primarily lots of women and posteriori baby boomers. Academic background level or household income is lower compared to other clusters. The life satisfaction level is moderate. Second, the active social-participation type is the cluster to which 33.8% of the baby boomers belong. They are positive in all the social activities including income activity. What there are lots of women and posteriori baby boomers is similar to the passive social-participation type. However, the academic background or the averagely monthly household income is the highest compared to other clusters. Even the life satisfaction level is the highest. Third, the economic activity orientation type is the cluster to which 29.4% of the baby boomers belong. They participate in income activity, but don't participate in civic-group activity, educational activity, and social activity such as spending time alone. Distribution of priori-and-posteriori baby boomers, distribution of academic background, or monthly household income is moderate level of other clusters. However, unlike other clusters, there are many men. The life satisfaction level is the lowest. Based on result of this study are suggested ways to improve in life satisfaction by social activity type in baby boomers.
There are marked variations in the activity of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) among adipose depots. The aim of this study was to compare the mechanisms of 24 h of fasting on LPL regulation between epididymal (EPI) adipocytes and mesenteric (MES) adipocytes in rats. 1-Day fasting consistently decreased activities of heparin-releasable LPL, total extractable LPL and cellular LPL markedly in both EPI and MES fat pads. LPL activity in MES fat pads was relatively lower than in the EPI fat pads. Consistent with data on LPL activity, the levels of expression of LPL mRNA in both nutritional states were lower in MES than EPI adipose tissue and isolated adipocytes. The decreased LPL activity after 1 day of fasting in MES adipocytes was explained mainly by a 50% decrease in the relative abundance of LPL mRNA level and a parallel 50% decrease in relative rate of LPL synthesis. In contrast, fasting of 1 day in EPI adipocytes decreased total LPL activity by 47% but did not affect LPL mRNA level or relative rate of LPL synthesis. A decrease in overall protein synthesis contributed to the decreased LPL activity after 1 day fasting both in EPI and MES adipocytes. In MES adipocytes the decrease in LPL activity, LPL mRNA and LPL synthesis were comparable, but in EPI adipocytes the changes in LPL activity were substantially larger than the changes in LPL mRNA level and LPL synthesis. Therefore, fasting decreased fat cell size, LPL activity, LPL mRNA level and relative rate of LPL synthesis in rats, and these effects were more marked in the MES adipocytes. These results clearly demonstrate the regional variations in the metabolic response of adipose tissue and LPL functions to fasting.
The number of splenic lymphocyte, serum prostaglandin $E_2$ level and natural killer cell activity were assayed after single whole body irradiation of a sublethal dose of $^{60}Co-{\gamma}$ ray to C57BL/6J mice. With a view to knowing the relationships between radiation induced prostaglandin $E_2$ level and the normal natural killer cell activity after natural killer cell-target cell conjugation, The change of normal natural killer cell activity were measured by administration of prostaglandin $E_2$ containing serum from irradiated mice. The results were summarized as follows; 1. The total number of splenic lymphocyte was significantly decreased by irradiation and the number was not affected by indometacin, prostaglandin synthesis inhibitor, treatment. 2. Serum prostaglandin $E_2$ level was increased in irradiated mice, but indometacin treated mice group showed low level of prostaglandin $E_2$. 3. In the case of irradiated mice, natural killer cell activity was not shown any difference between irradiated group and indometacin combined group. But when natural killer cell-target cell conjugations were exposed to the serum of each group during cytotoxic activity assay, whereas the normal natural killer cell activity was significantly decreased by treatment of serum from irradiated mice, the activity was not changed by treatment of indometacin pretreated mice serum. This result indicated that the prostaglandin $E_2$ induced by the radiation inhibited the post-target binding cytolytic process of natural killer activity.
This study investigated the isolation hypothesis and the buffer hypothesis of Demand-Control-Support model in relation to activity satisfaction and psychological well-being. The subjects were 300 elderly women participating in productive activity for example paid work, voluntary activity, and grancdhildren care. This research tested four hypotheses concerning the DCS model. Is there support for the isolation hypothesis, such that the lowest level of activity satisfaction is experienced by the elderly women working in an isolation situation(high demand-low control-low support)? Is there support for the isolation hypothesis, such that the lowest level of psychological well-being is experienced by the elderly women working in an isolation situation(high demand-low control-low support)? Is there support for the buffer hypothesis, i. e. interaction between demand, control, and support, indicating a buffering effect of support on the negative impact of high strain on activity satisfaction? Is there support for the buffer hypothesis, i. e. interaction between demand, control, and support, indicating a buffering effect of support on the negative impact of high strain on psychological well-being? Major results of this study were as follows. and were supported. Activity satisfaction and psychological well-being of the elderly women in isolation situation was the lowest among the sample. was supported that family support level buffered the negative impact of high strain on activity satisfaction. But was not supported. Only main effect of demand level was showed on psychological well-being.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between physical activity participation habits, physical fitness level, and academic performance among the Reserve Military Training Corps (ROTC). Participants in the current study were 71 ROTCs from J University. Physical activity participation was investigated using the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ), and the level of physical fitness was measured by health-related physical fitness evaluation. For academic performance, university grade data (GPA) was approved by the head of the relevant school district, and the data were collected with the consent of the participants, and each data was analyzed. The correlation between physical activity participation habits, physical fitness level, and GPA was analyzed, and GPA by physical fitness level were compared. This study found that there was no statistically significant correlation between physical activity participation and academic performance. Otherwise, there was a statistically significant correlation between major subjects and total physical fitness score, cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition. By the level of physical fitness, the ROTCs in the high-physical fitness group showed statistically significantly higher academic performance than the ROTCs in the low-physical fitness group. In addition, low level of physical fitness ROTC group was lower than the other. In conclusion, ROTCs with a high physical fitness level had a positive effect on improving learning ability compared to those who did not. By recommending an autonomous but systematic exercise training program, it is suggested to improve the physical strength of ROTCs and to cultivate excellent future military officers.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the state and factors associated with level of physical activity and exercise in adolescents. Method: The subjects in this study included 528 adolescents registered at two junior high schools and two senior high schools in J City. The data were collected between October 20 and 30, 2006. Result: The study results showed that 23.8% of the adolescents engaged in vigorous activities for at least 20 minutes, three times a week, while 3.8% of the adolescents participated in moderate activities for at least 30 minutes, five times a week. The subjective level of health was determined to be $3.51\pm.91$ points on a 5-point scale. The level of stress was $2.58\pm.83$ points on a 4-point scale. The obesity index was $4.26\pm20.84$ points. Significant correlations were found between the subjective level of health and level of stress (r=-.201, p=.000), the subjective level of health and the obesity index (r=-.135, p=.004), and between the level of stress and the obesity index (r=.107, p=.024). Conclusion: These results showed that developing a health promotion program that includes an exercise program specific to gender and level of education, individualized strategies of stress control and optimal weight control is required.

Information system contains various components, and these components can be categorized into some types. When preparing security level management activity, it is most important to define the target of management activity. And after deciding these targets, security level management activity can be started. This paper defines management targets by dividing information system into some parts, and shows these targets can be managed variously according to operation environments and characteristics.

Ubiquitous Healthcare (u-Healthcare) is the intelligent delivery of healthcare services to users anytime and anywhere. To provide robust healthcare services, recognition of patient daily life activities is required. Context information in combination with user real-time daily life activities can help in the provision of more personalized services, service suggestions, and changes in system behavior based on user profile for better healthcare services. In this paper, we focus on the intelligent manipulation of activities using the Context-aware Activity Manipulation Engine (CAME) core of the Human Activity Recognition Engine (HARE). The activities are recognized using video-based, wearable sensor-based, and location-based activity recognition engines. An ontology-based activity fusion with subject profile information for personalized system response is achieved. CAME receives real-time low level activities and infers higher level activities, situation analysis, personalized service suggestions, and makes appropriate decisions. A two-phase filtering technique is applied for intelligent processing of information (represented in ontology) and making appropriate decisions based on rules (incorporating expert knowledge). The experimental results for intelligent processing of activity information showed relatively better accuracy. Moreover, CAME is extended with activity filters and T-Box inference that resulted in better accuracy and response time in comparison to initial results of CAME.
The effects of a high level of sucrose on the moisture content, water activity, protein denaturation and sensory properties in Chinese-style pork jerky were investigated. The pork jerky with different levels (0, 12, 15, 18 and 21%) of sucrose was prepared. Fifteen frozen boneless pork legs from different animals were used in this trial. Sucrose is a non-reducing disaccharides and would not undergo non-enzymatic browning. Some studies pointed out that sucrose might be hydrolyzed during freezing, dehydration and storage into glucose and fructose, and cause non-enzymatic browning in meat products. The results showed that moisture content and water activity of pork jerky decreased with increase of the level of sucrose. At the same time, shear value was increased due to the reduced moisture content and water activity by osmotic dehydration. However, a higher level of sucrose had a significantly negative effect on protein solubility and extractability of myosin heavy chain of pork jerky due to non-enzymatic browning. From the results of sensory panel tests, the pork jerky with 21% of sucrose seems to be more acceptable by the panelists in hardness, sweetness and overall acceptability.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of nine times repetitive steaming and drying process Sunsik diets on antioxidant activity in obese mice fed high fat diets to prevent oxidative stress, using drying materials comprising 23 kinds of cereals (61.5%), beans (30.0%), sweet potato and potato (3.0%), fruits (2.0%), vegetables (3.0%), and stevioside, a natural sweetener (0.5%). We produced three samples: the experimental group was classified into the normal diet group (control), the high fat diet group (HF), and the high fat diet group + the Sunsik group (3HFS, 7HFS, 9HFS) fed to the mice for eight weeks. As a result, the serum, liver lipid peroxide, and nitric oxide levels were significantly higher in the HF group than in the C group at p<0.05 level, and the NO level was lower in the Sunsik supplemented groups. The antioxidant enzyme catalase activity significantly decreased in the HF group at the p<0.05 level compared to the C group. The total antioxidant activity of the C group was significantly higher in serum, liver, and kidney tissues than the HF group (p<0.05). The anthocyanin level in liver and spleen tissue was significantly higher in the group fed Sunsik than in the HF group.
