얼굴 깊이 추정을 이용한 3차원 얼굴 생성 및 추적 방법 (A 3D Face Reconstruction and Tracking Method using the Estimated Depth Information)

  • 얼굴의 3차원 정보는 얼굴 인식이나 얼굴 합성, Human Computer Interaction (HCI) 등 다양한 분야에서 유용하게 이용될 수 있다. 그러나 일반적으로 3차원 정보는 3D 스캐너와 같은 고가의 장비를 이용하여 획득되기 때문에 얼굴의 3차원 정보를 얻기 위해서는 많은 비용이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 일반적으로 손쉽게 얻을 수 있는 2차원의 얼굴 영상 시퀀스로부터 효과적으로 3차월 얼굴 형태를 추적하고 재구성하기 위한 3차원 Active Appearance Model (3D-AAM) 방법을 제안한다. 얼굴의 3차원 변화 정보를 추정하기 위해 학습 영상은 정면 얼굴 포즈로 다양한 얼굴 표정 변화를 포함한 영상과 표정 변화를 갖지 않으면서 서로 크게 다른 얼굴 포즈를 갖는 영상으로 구성한다. 입력 영상의 3차원 얼굴 변화를 추정하기 위해 먼저 서로 다른 포즈를 갖는 학습 영상으로부터 얼굴의 각 특징점(Land-mark)의 기하학적 변화를 이용하여 깊이 정보를 추정하고 추정된 특징점의 깊이 정보를 입력 영상의 2차원 얼굴 변화에 추가하여 최종적으로 입력 얼굴의 3차원 변화를 추정한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 방법은 얼굴의 다양한 표정 변화와 함께 3차원의 얼굴 포즈 변화를 포함한 실험 영상을 이용하여 기존의 AAM에 비해 효과적이면서 빠르게 입력 얼굴을 추적(Fitting)할 수 있으며 입력 영상의 정확한 3차원 얼굴 형태를 생성할 수 있음을 보였다.

Modeling and Direct Power Control Method of Vienna Rectifiers Using the Sliding Mode Control Approach

  • This paper uses the switching function approach to present a simple state model of the Vienna-type rectifier. The approach introduces the relationship between the DC-link neutral point voltage and the AC side phase currents. A novel direct power control (DPC) strategy, which is based on the sliding mode control (SMC) for Vienna I rectifiers, is developed using the proposed power model in the stationary ${\alpha}-{\beta}$ reference frames. The SMC-based DPC methodology directly regulates instantaneous active and reactive powers without transforming to a synchronous rotating coordinate reference frame or a tracking phase angle of grid voltage. Moreover, the required rectifier control voltages are directly calculated by utilizing the non-linear SMC scheme. Theoretically, active and reactive power flows are controlled without ripple or cross coupling. Furthermore, the fixed-switching frequency is obtained by employing the simplified space vector modulation (SVM). SVM solves the complicated designing problem of the AC harmonic filter. The simplified SVM is based on the simplification of the space vector diagram of a three-level converter into that of a two-level converter. The dwelling time calculation and switching sequence selection are easily implemented like those in the conventional two-level rectifier. Replacing the current control loops with power control loops simplifies the system design and enhances the transient performance. The simulation models in MATLAB/Simulink and the digital signal processor-controlled 1.5 kW Vienna-type rectifier are used to verify the fast responses and robustness of the proposed control scheme.

모바일 기기에서의 얼굴 특징점 및 선형 보간법 기반 시선 추적 (Gaze Detection Based on Facial Features and Linear Interpolation on Mobile Devices)

  • 최근에 인간컴퓨터 상호작용 분야에서 사용자의 시선 위치를 파악하여 더욱 편리한 입력 장치를 개발하고자 하는 연구가 많이 진행되고 있다. 기존의 대부분 연구들은 큰 모니터를 사용하는 컴퓨터 환경에서 시선 추적 시스템을 개발하였다. 최근 이동단말기의 사용 증대로 이동 중에 시선 추적에 의한 단말기 제어의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 이동형 컴퓨터 (Ultra-Mobile PC) 및 컴퓨터 내장 카메라를 이용하여 사용자의 얼굴을 추적하고, 얼굴내의 특징점의 위치를 능동외관모델 (Active Appearance Model)을 기반으로 추적하는 연구를 수행하였다. 본 논문의 독창성은 기존 연구와는 달리 소형 화면을 가지는 이동 단말기에서 사용자의 시선 위치를 추적할 수 있는 방법을 제안한 점과 정밀한 얼굴 특징점 검출을 위하여 능동외관모델을 사용한 점이다. 또한 사용자의 초기 캘리브레이션시 얻어진 특징값을 기반으로, 입력 특징값들을 정규화 함으로써, Z거리에 따라 시선 위치 정확도가 영향을 받지 않는다는 점이다. 실험결과, 약 1.77도의 시선 오차를 발생하였으나, 추가적인 얼굴 움직임에 의한 마우스 움직임 기능으로 이러한 시선 오차는 더욱 줄일 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Fuzzy neural network controller of interconnected method for civil structures

  • Recently, an increasing number of cutting-edged studies have shown that designing a smart active control for real-time implementation requires piles of hard-work criteria in the design process, including performance controllers to reduce the tracking errors and tolerance to external interference and measure system disturbed perturbations. This article proposes an effective artificial-intelligence method using these rigorous criteria, which can be translated into general control plants for the management of civil engineering installations. To facilitate the calculation, an efficient solution process based on linear matrix (LMI) inequality has been introduced to verify the relevance of the proposed method, and extensive simulators have been carried out for the numerical constructive model in the seismic stimulation of the active rigidity. Additionally, a fuzzy model of the neural network based system (NN) is developed using an interconnected method for LDI (linear differential) representation determined for arbitrary dynamics. This expression is constructed with a nonlinear sector which converts the nonlinear model into a multiple linear deformation of the linear model and a new state sufficient to guarantee the asymptomatic stability of the Lyapunov function of the linear matrix inequality. In the control design, we incorporated H Infinity optimized development algorithm and performance analysis stability. Finally, there is a numerical practical example with simulations to show the results. The implication results in the RMS response with as well as without tuned mass damper (TMD) of the benchmark building under the external excitation, the El-Centro Earthquake, in which it also showed the simulation using evolved bat algorithmic LMI fuzzy controllers in term of RMS in acceleration and displacement of the building.

  • 움직이는 물체 영역 검출 시 연속된 두 영상간의 차영상을 통하여 구하는 방법은 가장 간단하고 널리 사용되고 있다. 그러나 능동 카메라를 이용하여 실험할 경우 두 연속된 영상 간 배경의 움직임, 즉 카메라의 움직임 영역이 함께 포함되기 때문에 실제로 움직인 물체만을 찾아내기에는 어려움이 있다. 이를 보정하는 방법 영상의 처리를 통만 배경의 예측 및 보정, 그리고 센서를 통해 카메라가 움직인 각도를 측정하여 이를 보정해주는 방법이 있다. 본 논문에서는 팬틸트 장비에 장착된 카메라에 센서를 부착하여 각 시간 간격 당 움직인 각도를 획득, 이를 이용하여 이전 영상과 현재 영상에서의 픽셀 위치 변화 관계를 구하여 카메라의 움직임을 보정한다. 그리고 보정된 영상과 이전 영상간의 비교 통해 움직임 영역을 구하고 움직인 물체의 센트로이드를 구한다. 이때 센트로이드가 항상 이미지 플레인의 중심점과 일치하도록 팬틸트 파업을 수행한다.

A Smooth LVRT Control Strategy for Single-Phase Two-Stage Grid-Connected PV Inverters

  • Based on the inherent relationship between dc-bus voltage and grid feeding active power, two dc-bus voltage regulators with different references are adopted for a grid-connected PV inverter operating in both normal grid voltage mode and low grid voltage mode. In the proposed scheme, an additional dc-bus voltage regulator paralleled with maximum power point tracking controller is used to guarantee the reliability of the low voltage ride-through (LVRT) of the inverter. Unlike conventional LVRT strategies, the proposed strategy does not require detecting grid voltage sag fault in terms of realizing LVRT. Moreover, the developed method does not have switching operations. The proposed technique can also enhance the stability of a power system in case of varying environmental conditions during a low grid voltage period. The operation principle of the presented LVRT control strategy is presented in detail, together with the design guidelines for the key parameters. Finally, a 3 kW prototype is built to validate the feasibility of the proposed LVRT strategy.

지능형 운전보조시스템을 위한 IMM 기법을 이용한 전방차량 거동추정기법 (Neighboring Vehicle Maneuver Detection using IMM Algorithm for ADAS)

  • In today's automotive industry, there exist several systems that help drivers reduce the possibility of accidents, such as the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). The ADAS helps drivers make correct and quick decisions during dangerous situations. This study analyzed the performance of the IMM (Interacting Multiple Model) method based on multiple Kalman filters using the data acquired from a driving simulator. An IMM algorithm is developed to identify the current discrete state of neighboring vehicles using the sensor data and the vehicle dynamics. In particular, the driving modes of the neighboring vehicles are classified by the cruising and maneuvering modes, and the transition between the states is modeled using a Markovian switching coefficient. The performance of the IMM algorithm is analyzed through realistic simulations where a target vehicle executes sudden lane change or acceleration maneuver.

  • A phase-locked loop control system designed by using the linear quadratic regulator approach is presented in this paper. The system thus designed is optimal system when system is in locked state and the parameter value of loop filter which is an active PI filter can be obtained easily. By considering the structure of loop filter of phase-locked loop is included in the process to be controlled, a type 1 servo system can be constructed when voltage control oscillator is considered as an integrator. The integral gain of the proposed system obtained by linear quadratic regulator approach can be used as an optimal value to design the parameter of loop filter. The implemented result in controlling the second-order lag pressure process by using the proposed scheme show that the system response is fast with no overshoot and no steady-state error. Furthermore, the experimental results are also shown in term of output disturbance effect rejection, tracking and process parameter changed.

A Study on Application of Electric Propulsion System using AFE Rectifier for Small Coastal Vessels

  • The small coastal vessel registered in Korea, small coastal vessels with a gross tonnage of 10 tons or less account for 94.6 % and among them, aged vessels over 16 years age indicate 40.6 %. In order to reduce GHG emissions from small coast vessels, discussions are underway to replace aging ships' propulsion units with eco - friendly propulsion facilities, and the electric propulsion ship is emerging as one of the measures. The electric propulsion system using the DFE rectifier, which was applied in the conventional large commercial vessel, was effective in reducing the harmonics and improving the DC output voltage of the DC link stage, but it occupied a large volume and caused an increase in the overall system price. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an electric propulsion system using AFE rectifier with a small volume of system that can be applied to a small coastal vessel. In order to analyze the effectiveness of the overall system, the load profile was applied to obtain accurate and rapid speed tracking performance of the propulsion motor affected by the speed load. In addition, the power factor and total harmonic distortion factor of the voltage and current on the improved power output side are derived through simulation.

  • The Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) with a click stimulation in guinea pigs was used to examine the auditory neuro-pathway from the cochlear nucleus to brain. Using multi-channel active electrodes, the 3-dimensional auditory pathway was examined from the cochlea to the inferior colliculus through the brainstem. These results are similar to the well-known neuro-pathway. This study on the multi-channel ABR shows that the positions of the ABR generators move to the central brain and the contralateral pathway. It is generally agreed that the ABR is generated by some structures along the auditory pathway. This study provides some information on the neuro-pathway where the ABR peak is generated.
