  • Flywheel energy storage systems (FESS) have advantages over other types of energy storage methods due to their infinite charge/discharge cycles and environmental friendliness. The system has two radial bearings and one hybrid-thrust bearing. Thrust hybrid-type bearing use permanent magnet to relieve gravity load. The radial bearings were designed to provide sufficient force slew rate considering the unbalance disturbance at the operating speeds. In this paper, we will derive dynamic model of hybrid-type bearing using permanent magnet for thrust bearing and present simulation and stability of the model.

  • The stable motion has been judged by mathematical modeling of the conditions that a rocket flies flexibly to take an active part in atmosphere. In this paper, the rocket conditions consist of the air speed, thrust and automatic attitude control. Aerodynamic force, a critical trust and a critical air speed are determined by comparing mathematical knowledges with eigenfrequencies of vibration equation. And then rocket object model is designed. Parameters and eigenfrequencies are used in dimensionless forms for in general applications by eliminating restrictions such as dimension, weight and select of materials.

동적원심모형실험을 이용한 얕은 지반 굴착 버팀보 지지 흙막이 벽체의 지진토압 메커니즘 분석 (Mechanism of Seismic Earth Pressure on Braced Excavation Wall Installed in Shallow Soil Depth by Dynamic Centrifuge Model Tests)

  • In this paper, a dynamic centrifuge model test was conducted on a 24.8-meter-deep excavation consisting of a 20 m sand layer and 4.8 m bedrock, classified as S3 by Korean seismic design code KDS 17 10 00. A braced excavation wall supports the hole. From the results, the mechanism of seismically induced earth pressure was investigated, and their distribution and loading points were analyzed. During earthquake loadings, active seismic earth pressure decreases from the at-rest earth pressure since the backfill laterally expands at the movement of the wall toward the active direction. Yet, the passive seismic earth pressure increases from the at-rest earth pressure since the backfill pushes to the wall and laterally compresses at it, moving toward a passive direction and returning to the initial position. The seismic earth pressure distribution shows a half-diamond distribution in the dense sand and a uniform distribution in loose sand. The loading point of dynamic thrust corresponding with seismic earth pressure is at the center of the soil backfill. The dynamic thrust increased differently depending on the backfill's relative density and input motion type. Still, in general, the dynamic thrust increased rapidly when the maximum horizontal displacement of the wall exceeded 0.05 H%.

Design and Analysis of Electromagnetic Tubular Linear Actuator for Higher Performance of Active Accelerate Pedal

  • This paper describes the design and analysis of a tubular linear actuator for intelligent AAP (Active Accelerate Pedal) system. In a driving emergency, the electromagnetic actuator produces an additional pedal force such as the active pedal force and vibration force to release the driver's foot on accelerator pedal. A prior study found that the linear actuator with a ferromagnetic core had a problem in transferring the additional force naturally to a driver due to the cogging force. To reduce the cogging force and obtain higher performance of the AAP system, a coreless tubular linear actuator is suggested. Electromagnetic finite element analysis is executed to analyze and design the coreless tubular actuator, and dynamic analysis is performed to characterize the dynamic performance of the AAP system with the suggested tubular actuator for two types of thrust force.

  • TFLIM(Transverse Flux Linear Induction Motor), making its closed magnetic path with the direction of the traveling field orthogonal, had been developed to decrease an edge effect of the general induction motor. To control the levitation force and the thrust force on the secondary part of TFLIM independently, the various methodologies have been presented. When we try to achieve the independent control using only the multi-phase inputs assigned in the stator coils as an approach, in which condition we can minimize the coupling effect between two forces\ulcorner In this paper, we show the qualitative influence of a slip frequency, an ac magnitude, a dc offset superposed in the ac power, and a major parameter of TFLIM on the couple through the computer simulation. And to realize the independent motions between levitation and thrust motion without any auxiliary means fur isolation of the secondary part of TFLIM, the decouple compensator is suggested, including the experimental results.

동기형 직선유도전동기의 동작특성 (Performance Characteristics of Tubular Linear Iduction Motor)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analysis and develop theoretically the characteristics of tubular linear induction motor, which is a special industrial motor that generates directly thrust force from electrical power. The Poisson equation about vector potential which is created by the application of Maxwell electromagnetic equation with the speed considered, results in modified Bessel equation by the assumption that is applied to each region of the experimental motor. Vector potential, magnetic flux density, secondary current, and thrust force according to its region respectively were found out by substituting boundary condition for this equation and rearranging. Besides, a attendant materials, that is, thermal characteristic, which is one of the characteristics under the operation of experimental motor each part's magnetic flux distribution characteristics within active zone, the required time for reciprocating motion, and variation of power factor vs. a slip were found.

뒷채움 모래의 다짐에 의한 투수이방성이 주동토압에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Permeability Anisotropy on the Active Earth Pressure In Compacted Sand Backfill)

  • 뒷채움 다짐한 옹벽에 저해 침투빙가 주동토압에 미치는 영향을 관찰하기 위하여 책험과 이론해석에 의하여 연구가 수행되었다. 다짐방법이 모래의 투빙성에 미치는 영향을 관찰하기 위하여 특별히 고안된 정수두 투수시험장치와 전기전도도 측정법에 의하여 실험이 행해졌다. 실험결과, 다짐방상에 직각인 방향과 평행한 방향의 투수계수의 비(kz/ky)는 공소비와 반대수방안지에서 직선관계로 보이고, 상대밀도가 90% 이상에서는 kz/ky의 값이 2-4로 나타났다. 이 때 다짐방법은 투수계수에 별다른 영향을 주지 않았으며, 굵은 모래보다 가는 모래에서 이방성이 크게 나타났다. 이방성 침투가 주동토압에 미치는 영향을 관찰하기 위하여 확장된 Gray 이론에 실험결과를 적용하여 보았다. kz/ky의 값이 클수록 주동토압의 크기는 작아지고, 벽면마찰의 영향은 크지 않았다.

  • 헬리콥터는회전하는구동시스템에의해추력및비행제어력을발생하기때문에회전체에서기체로전달되는 진동 및 소음을 줄이는 것이 아주 중요하다. 과거에는 수동적 방법으로 특정주파수에 해당하는 진동 및 소음을 줄였지만, 기술이 발달함에 따라 주파수를 변동시킬 수 있는 장치를 적용할 수 있는 능동적 진동 및 소음 제어방법이 개발되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 헬리콥터 진동 및 소음을 제어하는 능동적 방법에 대한 세계적인 기술동향 및 사례를 기술하였다. 서론에서는 헬리콥터 진동 및 소음을 제어하는 일반적인 방법론을 소개하고, 본론에서는 능동적으로 제어하는 사례 및 동향을 중심으로 기술하였다. 현재 가장 활발하게 진행되고 있는 능동적 플랩구동장치 및 비틀림장치 등을 중심으로 소개하였다.

  • LOA(Linear Oscillating Actuator) is composed of a voice coil type mover and permanent magnets. we have applied LOA to the active vibration control system to supress structual vibration. In this paper, the static test of the voice coil type LOA is treated. The thrust developed by LOA is calculated by measuring stroke.
